Travelling to Valencia quite often and visiting many restaurants reviewed on TA it surprises me that Aragon 58 seems to have slipped under the radar.
The last time I visited Valencia I noticed this restaurant and studied the menu positioned on the wall outside the entrance and pencilled it in for a future visit.
November, staying at the Westin as always, this time I was joined by a group of 5 colleagues, and we wanted a restaurant nearby within walking distance so I immediately thought of Aragon 58.
I walked to the restaurant around 18.00hrs, found the doors open and booked a table for six people for 21.00 that evening.
The restaurant appears to have two floors, decorated with a marine theme, and we were escorted downstairs to a well positioned round table, beautifully set.
The service was excellent, and within minutes of sitting we had our wine, water and the delicious pan con tomato. The menu was discussed and explained and the six of us chose quite a variety of dishes.
The menu was extensive, typically Mediterranean, with picadas and montaditos, salads, shellfish, fish, rice and meat, also including Chateaubriand with bearnaise sauce.
Personally I can recommend the Jamon Iberico de bellota followed by fillets of sole, but the final group verdict was unanimous - excellent.
The restaurant downstairs was completely full when we finally left our table with a good atmosphere and seemed even busier upstairs.
The waiters were helpful, friendly and showed plenty of humour helping us to choose our meal.
I would not hesitate in recommending Aragon 58 and look forward very much to my next visit be it for business or social.
