Description: Come and savour mediterranean fusion food in this centrally located and highly recommended restaurant in Valencia's historical Barrio del Carmen. Just a few metres from the cathedral square, this restaurant is a relaxing retreat after a morning of sightseeing. Stephen Anderson heads the friendly English speaking team. Eat alfresco or in the modern, comfortable, designer interior. The daily lunchtime menu is excellent value for money and the a la carte is an opportunity to try the gastronomic offer of one of Valencia's best fine dining restaurants.

“Nice food, shame about the service”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

We booked a table following a recommendation. We were pleasantly greeted in perfect English (my attempts at Spanish will have to wait for another day), the menu looked appealing; we were tempted by the taster menu but decided to go for the A la carte. But from then on the service started to go downhill. We were not quite ready to choose when the waiter first came, but then he didn't reappear for 15/20 minutes. The food was good, including an unexpected mouse bouche, although I was disappointed that the main courses came with no carbohydrate whatsoever (or the option of a side). After waiting an extraordinarily long time for our main course, which we suspected had been delivered to the next table by mistake, we then had to re-ask for the accompanying wine which had been recommended for this course, and then cleaning seemed to take priority over our dessert and coffee when there was only one other table occupied. We had to tell them we had to go in the end. A shame as it had seemed very promising.

“Surreal experience...words can't describe it!”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

We arrived to this restaurant due to sheer luck. We could not be more impressed. The sommelier came and recommended an excellent wine to go with an excellent meal that surpassed all expectations. After 11 days in Europe, this fine restaurant gave us a culinary experience that we will cherish for years to come! Don't hesitate...go to this restaurant and your senses will go to the next level!

“fusion food done right.”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

We came across the restaurant when it was closed and it looked good (sometimes it pays to judge a book by it's cover). We checked it out on trip advisor, got excited and made a reservation. We ate inside (as we usually do in Spain) and the place looked really nice. A modern look, stylish design mixed with some classical elements. Just like the food we would discover.
There was a choice between a tapas menu, a tasting menu and a la carte. We chose the tasting menu with the small wine pairing (there was a choice between 4 or 6 wines). Gazpacho with watermelon, squid and mango carpaccio, ravioli with lobster and a saffran, lamb sweetbread with broccoli and shiitake, seafood of the day, suckling pig with pear and shallots, mandarine and cava sorbet and finally chocolate pavée with vanilla ice cream. Creative, well balanced nicely prepared food. The quality of the food was good, the products seemed fresh and were laid out like pretty pictures on the plate. A little disappointing were the squid, which seemed a bit to simple and the suckling pig, which was a bit dry. Other then that, a real joy for the tastebuds.
The staff was nice and helpful but seemed a little disorganized. By time they'd forget to explain what was on our plates and the description of the wine was very short and didn't add that much. But that could also been a language issue. The prices seemed fair, not for every day but also not overly expensive. We had a good time and an excellent meal. One of the best we had in Valencia.

“A really good restaurant”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

This restaurant is tucked away a street or two from Plaza de la Virgen, but as others have commented; this is not a tourist trap, it is a lovely 'proper' restaurant.

I have eaten here several times for both lunch and dinner. The lunch menu was great value at 15eur for 3 courses with 3 choices per course. The menu changes weekly, the food is excellent and the service is great.

Evening meals are a more grand affair with a choice of a Tapas Menu, Tasting Menu or A La Carte menu. Once again the food was excellent and the service just right.

This is a great restaurant, I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my meals there and I am pleased that they are receiving such posistive review from other diners as well.

“Brilliant”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

This restaurant is just off Plaza de la Virgen in a quiet street. Forget about the touristic traps on Plaza de la Virgin, here you'll find food heaven. I had a small gazpacho, then four "tapas", then the main course (but not too much considering all the previous food), then dessert. The food was absolutely exquisit, not too heavy. The restaurant is quiet and relaxed, with nice cool music, perfect after a long day walking around. The residents in Valencia consider it as one of the best restaurants in Valencia. Totally agree!
