“away from touristy spots”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

it was a very good hotel that fits our purpose, which is to have a base outside the old city and to sleep well and freshen up as we are out the whole day. it is close to El corte ingles if you want to get some shopping done or buy some drinks to stock up. Overall a good stay, standard breakfast and polite staff.

This is not bad, quite clean actually and rooms are decent sized although basic, maybe a little spartan. It does have a refrigerator though. We picked it because it was a good value and had a fitness center. However, we never had to use the gym because we walked for miles in the nearby parks and to the city center. The hotel is not near the city center - its a good 30 minute brisk walk but it is very close to the City of Arts and Sciences and the park build over the dry riverbed. There is a big shopping mall across the street as well as an El Cortes Ingles, a department store with a decent grocery section. There are also a number of interesting restaurants in the area. We happened to arrive during the Fallas festival and the city was hopping, including the area near the hotel. The hotel has parking, the entrance is just before you turn into the driveway to the front of the hotel. The only drawback during our visit was the big group of business men there for a Mercedes Benz training session. It packed the hotel and made getting on the elevators a major hassle - in fact, we were stuck in an elevator packed with people for about 20 minutes.

We visited Valencia in april and we choosed this hotel because it was close to City of arts and Sciences. From this point of view, the location is great. You are 5 minutes away from them. Also, you have El Corte Ingles supermarket and Aqua Mall right across the setreet, and another mall 5 minutes away. You also have a great number of restaurants in the area. You do not have a metro station close by, and that's a major disatvantage. You have the bus right around the corner, but it will take you 2-3 days to get used to the rather complicated bus map. Just remember taht you will use bus 19, that can take you to Xativa, near the city center and 100 m away from the metro. This bus can also take you to the beach, where you could also walk for about 20 minutes.
Breakfast is good, but a bit expensive. Nothing spectacular, but i appreciate that they do not rush you if you show up late, and they do not remove the food when the breakfast hors are finished.
The hotel and the rooms are modern, minimalist but a bit warn off.
The room was confortable, i did not find is noisy, as some others pointed out, but i guess it depends who has the room right near or above you.
Wireless sucks, and that's the major upset. If you really need it for work, it will drive you crazy. It's slow, connects only sometimes and you can only connect one device at a time with the user and pass that they give you. But because the user and pass is your room number, it's easy to write another room number and make someone else mad. :)
The towels in the bathroom and very bad quality and you get no slippers, which is kind of odd for a 4 stars hotel.
You can also rent bikes from the hotel at 1euro/hour, which is great and convenient. You also need to pay 1,5 euro for a card that's lets you use the electronic renting system the have and also works as an insurance for bike theft.
We did not used the pool and spa, but it's not included. You have to pay extra.
Overall, knowing what to expect after reading other reviews, i was very pleased with the hotel for the price that we paid.

Room Tip: Do not pay for the terrace or balcony. It's an outside cubicle with no view.

We had a great experience in this hotel. The location is great, not in the old city downtown, but close to big commercial centers, cultural activities, restaurants and plenty of transportation.
Very modern and clean ambience, breakfast is also good and staff overall very kind. The only downside of the hotel I would have to say was that because it had so many guests, the internet did not work properly in some periods.

Room Tip: Spa in the hotel is paid. Gym is included.

The most accurate reviews are under " Average" and they have not rectified any concerns.
This review sums it up ...." the rooms are a little tatty in places, which is a shame as they are great otherwise. but the downside to this hotel is the fact they have gone with wooden floors in all of the bedrooms, all night you can hear a chorus of chair scraping, shoes walking, blinds opening, wardrobe doors opening and closing, it really is enough to drive you mad, when all you want to do is sleep! another downside to the wooden floors is the fact the bed is on wheels with no brake facility, so when you sit up in bed and lean your back against the headboard your bed moves 3 foot across the room. if the hotel were to address the noise issue and moving beds, this would be a great hotel, but at present it's a good hotel In a good location but with issues that would try the patience of any guest!"

To add to the above wallpaper in a toilet is not a good idea and can't be cleaned properly ... towel handles coming off the wall .... the carpet in lift lobby area on 6th floor very grubby. So in general much need maintainence is much needed. No kettle in room this is a given even in motels let alone a hotel. Not even complimentary water this ia given of any 4 star hotel. The iron is ancient with a grubby small board and I was only told they had 5 so not possible to get one until I told them that I could wait. AND the moving beds is very, very annoying and a simple fix! A couple of squares of plastic or rubber mat should do the job.

We changed room 3 times. And it was still not right but we couldn't be bothered to move again.

Gym is not very nice and spa atmosphere was the same one look and I had no desire to sign on for any treatment. It will be OK as a business hotel where all you need is a bed to sleep and you don't like to sit up in bed.

The staff was absolutely great helping me with my missing luggage (Iberia lost it). If the WiFi had worked better (or even at all) i would have given this hotel a *****. Great location, really close to both El Corte Ingles and Aqua 8Shopping centres). The room (414) was very nice and clean. Two showers in the bathroom(!!)

I stayed a couple of nights.

Good points: I liked my room, it felt clean, fresh, airy, stylish and well designed. I could see part of the City of Arts and Sciences from my window which was a bonus. I liked the outside patio area near the bar to sit out on at night. Breakfast was good. There’s a nice El Corte Ingles department store and supermarket next door and a shopping centre opposite. The hop on hop off tourist bus stops closeby on the opposite side of the dual carriageway.

I loved the architecture at the City of Arts and Sciences, particularly El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia. Amazing.

Negative point (for me): I was served a rare cooked beefburger in the bar which I didn’t eat as I didn’t want to risk getting E coli poisoning. However, to her credit, the waitress offered another fully cooked one when she spotted that I hadn’t eaten it but I declined.
