We went to sea the night show of syncronised swimming with dolphins and it did not let us down! The aquarium itself is quite spectacular with 12 different sections divided by geography (like a mediterranean section, a red sea section and so on). One can spend a few hours studying all the marine life housed in here. The whole place is beautiful in construction and very well maintained. It is by far the biggest aquarium I have ever visited and it has a spectacular 'underwater' restaurant to eat a gourmet meal in. As mentioned we came for the summer night show which had its opening night. It was very well produced with light and sound effects in addition to the performing people and dolphins. The theme was Hawaiian, complete with a smoking volcano and we enjoyed it very much. The whole place and show is very well suited to families and although the show started at 22.45 there were lots of Spanish kids present.

As regular visitors to zoos and similar attractons arround the world we were left cold by our visit here.

The queues for tickets are ridiculous - it seems to take unfathomably long to get a ticket - we ended up paying for a dual ticket rather than stand in the longer queue - but you can buy a ticket at the science museium where they are shorter (out mistake maybe?!).

One then was asked to stand in line again to pass though the barriers because apparently we are not capable of inserting the tickets ourselves so it had to be done by one morose teenager.

One word though - the Submarene restaurant was excellet if rather expensive.

A bit expensive we thought, with too many add ons when buying your tickets. The dolphins were quite good though.

This is a "must see" in Valencia, especially for those travelling with kids. Make sure you get to see the
dolphin show. It is great fun in my opinion. The park is beautiful and well organized, and there are several exibits that is especially worthwhile, as for example the large shark tanks . Most of the exibits is underground, and that helps in the hot July sun. The resturants/snack bars inside is expensive and not so good. But this is an aquarium and not a restaurant, so you should eat elsewhere. Find it a bit on the expencive side(like most "must see's" for familys), but is de(l)finiitely worth a visit. I would presume the best time of the year to visit the Oceanografic, is in the Spring and in the Autumn, as I found it a bit on the hot side in July.
