The hotel is a 5 star hotel in every way. The rooms are exquisite, roomy, spacious and comfortable.
The hotel is not in the Old City but close enough to walk to. The old city is accross the river, about a 15 minute walk from the hotel.
I would stay there again and again.

This is a great hotel for the value and service we got from everyone we interacted with. Checkin process was flawless, were upgraded without asking and received plenty of -really good- recommendations on what to do, where to eat and for specific requests for activities.
Rooms are big and confortable (even for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids), the area outside lacks the 'personality' you can find on other Spanish cities but you can always take a taxi that for a few euros (less than 10 most of the time) will take you to downtown or to major landmarks.
If you are a soccer fan, the stadium is literally around the corner, if you love having food on small restaurants, there are plenty around for really good prices.
If the future takes us again to Valencia, we won't think twice before staying here again.

My husband, my parents and I spent 3 nights at the Westin over Christmas. As you will notice, the building is unique (former factory) and beautifully re-fitted as a hotel. The common areas are attractive to stroll around in, and I imagine the outdoor garden will be terrific during the summer. Rooms are very well insulated against neighbors / outside noise; the bathrooms are gorgeous and larger than some NYC apartments. Everything in the bedroom was very new and very comfortable. The concierge service was terrific - recommended great restaurants, helped with reservations, taxis, etc..
Hotel location is convenient with a car and not too far for a cab ride from all of the major attractions. The neighborhood was extremely safe and comfortable (though not much for strolling around).
Only downside - the "extras"': 1) parking should really be complimentary, rather than 20 euro (we parked outside, was very safe and free); 2) minibar is exorbitantly expensive; 3) internet was 15 euro for 9 hours (or so).

A very nice hotel - lovely building but whole experience let down by poor service and certainly not what one would expect for a 5 star hotel. Took 20 minutes to check in as staff were doing a fire drill - appreciate fire drills need to be practised but come on leave enough staff on reception to service your guests! We were offered a complimentary drink at the bar by the receptionist when we eventually got to her but weren't told how to redeem it!

Then I went to use the pool and was told it wasn't part of our room rate - no where had we been told this or even be offered it on check in. Never stayed in a 5 star hotel before where you had to pay extra to use the pool - come on Westin - your guests pay enough to stay so let them use the pool! Anyway when I queried it I was given access to the pool and offered another complimentary drink! That evening we went to one of the hotel bars and asked to have our complimentary drink only to be told that the bar wasnt part of the hotel (even though it was inside the hotel and accessed as such) - I could though of course put the drinks bill on my hotel bill (how bizarre). Second night we went to hotel lobby bar for the now elusive complimentary drink, this time to be told by the waiter that he knew nothing about it (and he wasnt willing to go and find out). We returned to our room and rang the service button just to share our frustration and what was now becoming slightly laughable! Girl promised to raise with front of house manager and get back to us - needless to say we heard no more.

Hotels like the Westin stand and fall on their service - our experience fell short of what one expects in such a hotel and we won't be rushing back.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconveniences you have encountered upon check in and with our health club swimming pool policy. I have taken note of the fact that you were not informed properly about our bar facilities and could not enjoy your complementary drinks. I assure you that I have shared your comments with our team and measures will be taken to avoid similar situations in the future.
We hope you will consider staying with us again on your next visit to Valencia.
Yours Sincerely,

We stayed there in Dec. 2010. The Hotel is probably the best Westin i have been. Spacious
hotel hall, excellent bar, beautiful Christmas decoration and an outstanding service are just some of the almost perfect features. The rooms were great , going to the garden with a very nice vies, very quiet, Huge bathroom with shower and tub, toilet separate ,the beds are outstanding. I would recommend this hotel without any restriction.

The short-and-sweet of the Westin Valencia was that it was AWESOME!!! I had done very little research on the property before arriving and hadn't set many expectations for the stay. Very nice. Very new. Very clean and modern. We stayed in the reserved SPG (Starwood Preferred Guest) suite as I had booked with cash & points. If that's the type of room they put folks paying next to nothing in (I think I paid $90 for the one night), I'd really be interested how the rest of the rooms were. Very large room. In fact, for a single room, I think that's the largest single standard hotel room I had ever stayed in. All the finishing touches were in place, tasteful, and grand. Impressive bathroom area. I loved my short stay at the Westin Valencia. It was in a great location of the city. Beautiful grounds in the inner courtyard. It made our one night in Valencia one to remember!

We stayed in room no. 229 ("Grand deluxe") for 1 night. The room was spacious (about 40 sqm) with a huge balcony (about 15 sqm) equipped with chairs, a table and 2 deck chairs. The room itself was equipped with a king size bed (very comfy and large), a LCD-TV, mini-bar, coffeetable with chairs and a writing desk. The biggest asset was the gorgeous bathroom with a bathtub on one side and a walk-in-shower on the other side. In front of the bathroom which has a wooden sliding door was a spacious dressing area with wardrobes and a safe on one side and a door leading to a separate room with toilet and bidet on the other side.
The gentleman at the reception desk was really friendly when we arrived and provided us with lots of useful suggestions what to visit during the short time of our stay and a map where he marked the most interesting sightseeing spots.
The only disappointment were the unexpected costs for additional services which should be included. Once there was the entry fee for the use of the swimming pool in the basement. It turned out that the pool is part of the spa and cannot be used without being a paying guest for the spa on a daily base of € 10.00 per person. Furthermore, the use of the internet pc in the business centre for a simple online-check-in with our airline would have costed the hourly rate of € 18.00.
Positive is the convient location near the ancient town of Valencia and a walking distance of about 200 m to the next metro station.
