“Great experience”

Just come back from Valencia, after 4 days escape. I loved Westin hotel, spotless, great historical building and location (5-10 minutes walk to main tourist attractions from citycenter). Rooms are large and well decorated, in very good condition. Staff friendly and helpful, rich breakfast with local flavours and style.

Loved it and definetely I will return to this hotel.

We arrived at 1pm and were welcomed very amicably by the assistant manager and even though check in was not until 3pm we were taken directly to our room. It was beautiful with a large king size bed, 32 inch tv with a roomy bath and shower plus a little terrace with lounge chairs and tables In november a bit too chilly though to sit on the terrace.
.
The concept of this hotel is too relax. The mood is set with nice piped music along the corridors. The gym is open 24/7 while the pool and Hamman is open from 7am to 10pm and has a charge of 10 Euros.
They have a restaurant on site which is very nicely decorated and a coffee bar and also an outside area to eat or drink in the inner courtyard.
We did not take any meals at the hotel.
The location is great and quiet and it is a15 -20 minute pleasant walk accross to the old town.
The staff were very friendly and helpful from advice regards sightseeing to restaurants. Claudia was always there to help with a smile on her face.
A very pleasant relaxing stay and Valencia is definitely hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Our four days went too fast but then again we will have to go back.
Weather was exceptional between 21-25 degress celscius.

Situated a few minutes from the metro line (or a swift 15min walk into centre of town), this hotel is in a quiet location, ideal for unwinding after La Tomatina! Staff on reception were really helpful. Room was terrific - definitely recommend it - big smiles all round when we walked in!

The food was expensive - and there are few restaurants close by - so if you're on a budget, head to centre of town for meals.

Travel tip - don't attempt to by individual train tickets a day in advance, they are only valid on day of purchase!

I am just back from Valencia. It was 2 nights stay in Westin hotel. I had a double room with king size bed.
Room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Bed sheets, bathrobe - everything was soft, comfortable. Mattress was so good, my back has not enough words to thank the mattress.

Breakfast is on expensive side. Black pudding, cold cuts were really good, except salted / smoked salmon. The service was the weakest link of the breakfast experience.

Hotel is about 12-15 minutes walk to city center. There are great jogging tracks nearby.

Staff at reception was friendly and helpful.

All in all it is great value for money.

Just returned from a excellent stay in the Westin Valencia from 20/10/09 to 24/10/09. Booked accommodation through Thomas Cook city breaks with separate flights with Easyjet from Bristol. We arrived at the hotel by taxi and was impressed from the start, hotel looked luxurious from the outside with a red carpet leading to the spacious marble lobby with flowers in glass vases and period dresses. The receptionist and porters were dressed extremely smart and were friendly and professional without being too formal.

After a fast smooth check in we were allocated a room on the first floor overlooking the courtyard. The room was very large with a sofa, chairs and a large desk and table. There was also a large flat screen television with a keyboard for internet use, complimentary tea and coffee and electronic safe. Air conditioning was very efficient and the room was very quiet during the night. There was also a ironing board in the room and bathrobes with plenty of storage space for clothes in glass wardrobes. Bathroom was a good size with a large bath and separate walk in shower with complimentary toiletries which were replaced daily. There were also speakers in the bathroom to hear the television! Cleansiness in the room and hotel in general was excellent. Very pleased with the standard of the room, could not fault any aspect.

Even though breakfast was a little expensive there was a very good selection of food including the usual breads, meats, fruit, cakes etc and delicious freshly cooked omelettes. The hotel has a lovely central courtyard with comfortable chairs, waterfalls and lots of greenery. There is also an art gallery close to reception with paintings and expensive ornaments, if I won the lottery I would buy the €7,700 ornamental horse!

The hotel is located in the centre of Valencia on the outskirts of the old town (20 minutes walk approximately) and slightly longer to the City of Arts and Sciences. The weather during our stay was dry and mostly sunny with temperatures around 23C. Valencia is an excellent choice for a city break, my personal favourites included the City of Arts & Sciences, La Lonja, Cathedral, Old town and Valencia’s fine art museum Bellas Artes. If you have any questions contact me and I will try to assist.

We stayed at the Westin in Valencia in August and September 2009. We caught the nonstop from JFK. The Westin rate was amazing - around $115 Euro. We were completely jet lagged upon arriving to Valencia, so paid for access to the pool and spa, where we relaxed, showered and drank fresh juice. The room was very nice, large and had a cot already set up for our teenaged son. All our room requests were met and we were very pleased. However, the cleaning service was spotty and not up to par. We never got refills on any amenities, such as soap, shampoo, and had to ask for it. We got turn down service once or twice, but not nightly. The room was just slightly adequately cleaned - it never seemed completely freshened.

We greatly enjoyed having a glass of wonderful Spanish wine nightly with live music in the courtyard. The breakfast was delicious as well. For the most part, the concierge gave us good restaurant recommendations.

It was a most pleasant stay and we would definitely recommend this hotel.

We spent 3 nights at the Westin Valencia in Mid September. The hotel has a good location within the city, its approx 15 mins walk into the old town. The room we had was a deluxe, it had lots of space plus a terrace with sun loungers and table and chairs. The service and help we received from the staff was top class and they were always very friendly. The highlight is the courtyard and gardens which are in the centre of the building, a lovely place to have a few drinks in the evening.

General Notes
Airport is close to city centre, approx 20 mins taxi ride to the hotel. Cost around €20

Tourist bus is great for seeing the city, they have two routes A&B. A is the historic and B is the beach one. Personally my favourite was B

Beach (La Malvarossa) is easy to get to them the hotel, get bus number 32 from around the corner (reception will be able to help point the way). Its not the most pretty beach in the world, however its very functional and you get some get waves to swim in

Overall buses are the best way around the city and most trips are €1.25. If you perfer taxi’s they are pretty easy to get all across the city.

The old town is very beautiful, with lots of pretty squares and buildings. The area has great bars and restaurants. My own peronsal highlights included Central Market, Silk Trading building and Basilica Virgen

Two restaurants that we liked were, La Pepica is located on the La Malvarossa beach front, its on old style Valencian restaurant which specialises in Pallea the local dish of Valencia. We went on a Monday evening and the place was packed. Would recommend a visit for authenic Paella. Espita Gorgorita was a small street side place which did very good tapas, nice place for lunch.

A must ‘thing to do’ is visit the Oceangrafico, the largest aquarium in Europe, a brilliant day out. Costs €23 each and the Walrus and Dolphin show were definite highlights.
