“Feel like a kid again!”

I went at 130pm and it was so hot! Otherwise I would have liked to play on the slides. Anyhow it was an interesting and creative playground, worth visiting!

“Interesting and worth a visit (it's free!)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

We endeavoured to visit but sadly it was shut for Siesta (2-5pm) despite it being July and the opening hours indicating it was open all day, disappointing after such a long walk. We elected to walk through the Turia from Torres de Serrano, which is lengthy but beautiful. We did visit the next day and it was fun for half and hour for our 4yo but the grit surface not good with a crawling 1yo. It's free so we'd recommend a visit and it's a pretty unqique location and fun, but didn't entertain a 4yo for long and he needed supervision/ assistance , would probably be much more fun for bigger kids.

“Unsual Kids Playground”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

Gulliver is a public work in the form of the titular character from Gulliver's Travels designed as a play area with a dozen or so slides for kids to enjoy. It is located just to the north of the CIty of Arts and Sciences as part of the Turia Gardens. Entry is free, The set-up suggests it was originally envisaged as being a paid attraction but free is the right price for what Gulliver offers.

Gulliver is a large sculpture for climbing and sliding down. It is large enough to take dozens of people at once and there are plenty of different slides down. None of them will be enough for children of teenage age and up but for smaller children it is a fun place to play.

Gulliver himelf is not really visible from the ground. He's visible from the satellite imagery of online maps much more effectively than when close up. This mean Gulliver does not actually look that good in person.

By far the biggest plus of Gulliver as a play area is the risk. It is in parts a little difficult to clamber over. It is up to kids and their parents to decide how much risk to absorb which is such a delight when compared to the health and safety culture which insists the government should take that decision instead. The challenge level means children of various ages can find their own paths and so it does scale up really well among younger kids.

Gulliver does not offer any shade. In the summer sun it is only fun for a while. It is a playground but not amazingly varied as it is pretty much just clambering up and sliding down. As a public work which functions as a play area it is nice but not necessarily something to go a long way to experience.

“Very unique playground”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2013

We've taken a group of school children (preteen) to this and they loved it. It helped that there happened to be a base jumper there that day, and he was very skilled and entertaining. Really popular place, but worth the visit if you have kids or just want to check out something you definitely wouldn't find anywhere else!

“Absolutely lovely park for kids !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

My kids 9 and 10 absolutely love this place which is situated in the larger park aread. They loved climbing up and down the giant Gulliver and taking the numerous slides.. The park is a safe place and lots of open spaces to run around
