They don't make stations like this anymore - well worth 15 min visit.

Just lovely tiles - back then they knew how to travel in style.

Fast trains departs now from Joaquin Sorrolla, a totally impersonal train station..This one, remembers you the old and classical days when train was the afforable mean of transport. You can kiss your loved just at the wagon gate (not at the security check point as now) big hall, see the restaured decoration of Valentian images on the ticket sales hall, A unique exemple of Modernism in Valencia with local touch,

It's not often that a railway station is worth a visit unless you actually need to catch a train. This station is an exception. The façade is very grand, with ceramic details and the motif of oranges in the construction and a very impressive parvis. Inside the ticket hall what I take to be the original wood panelling has been beautifully maintained. More vaulted ceilings. It cries out the opulence and grandeur of Valencia in its industrial age

The train station is a very popular spot for photos, so if you want a picture in front of it, go very early in the morning or you'll have other posing tourists behind you in your pictures. As with most European buildings, the attention to detail in the architecture is impressive. Just a lovely building. And if you're actually going to the train station to catch a train, we've never had a problem. Everything is always fast and efficient. Clean bathrooms too, if you're out and about and need a restroom break. It's not always easy to find a public restroom.

Like everything else in this wonderful city this train station is well worth seeing it is just so very pretty and in any case it's right next door to the city's bullring so it's kind of unavoidable.
