We have stayed here several times (I have reviewed before) and it never fails to deliver. Thanks to the very efficient Ana in reservations for her help.
Firstly, the facilities are top notch. The pool area is lovely with a kids pool too. Comfortable sun loungers, good pool bar and restaurant and lots of friendly staff, thank you Omar! Our favourite thing is being able to exit the hotel via the lower pool area straight onto the beautiful soft, sandy beach.
Housekeeping here is excellent. The staff are always smiling and very helpful and keep the rooms spotless. I do agree with the last reviewer that the mattress is a little firm but just ask and a soft mattress topper is available. Thank you Sylvia!
Reception and concierge services are professional and always on hand with help and good ideas. Thank you Marta, Loic & Isidoro.
The bar area inside and outside is delightful. Sitting outside enjoying a cocktail is a highlight here with fountains and lots of comfortable seating. Once again great staff - thank you Christofol & Christina!
It is a little out of town but only a €10 taxi ride or lots of public transport gives access to many fine restaurants in and around the beautiful city centre. The 'hop on hop off' bus stops just outside too. Being near the beach more than compensates.
You may think I have overdone the 'thankyous' in this review but I made an effort to remember some names this holiday as the staff are what make a good hotel really great.
We are already looking forward to returning in July!

was there on business. the hotel sits in a quite area of the town, which is a plus.
right there on the beach with beautiful views... so make sure you get a room with sea view

negative issues:
- the mattress was really uncomfortable. I could feel and hear the sound of the springs whenever I move
- I got two single beds with nothing to connect and fix them together
- the bar in the hotel closes early

Room tip: Make sure you get a room with sea view

We chose the hotel due to its location and it did not disappoint. It is situated beachside with wide promenades by the sea for walking, cycling or running. It is approx 30 minutes walk to the arts and science centre and parks and approx one hour to the city centre. There are safe bike lanes for those who prefer to cycle. There are beachfront restaurants close by with a good selection on their menus and locals frequenting them, which is always a good sign.

The hotel itself is a large attractive building but did not feel crowded despite being busy. The common areas are well spaced out with very comfortable seating inside - and outside in front of the fountains. Very relaxing atmosphere. There are several pools and an adults only pool with nice sun loungers and a pool bar. There is a kids pool and club which we did not use. The spa area is well designed with pool, jacuzzi, steam rooms, fountains and outside seating area. Massages are available. I personally felt it was expensive for what was offered. We had two free sessions with our room.

We chose the executive floor rooms which were newly decorated and had large balconies. Hermes toiletries and individual amenity bags were provided daily and the shower was amazing with 10 water jets for massage. Kettle and coffee / provided plus a fridge full of free soft drinks were replenished daily. Beds were comfortable and housekeeping was thorough with extra towels and toiletries provided with the turndown service. Breakfast was good and service throughout the hotel was courteous and efficient. Free efficient internet.

On the negative side I found the fact that you needed towel cards for the pool area not befitting a five star hotel and this is the first time I have seen such a practice at this star rating! Also the food in the restaurant was ok but the menu a bit limited.

I would definitely return if in Valencia but by comparison with the Melia group feel it is more in keeping with one of its four star rather than one of its five star hotels.

We chose this hotel, because we weren't sure what Valencia would deliver in terms of weather.Spain's weather can be unpredictable in early spring. Too hot, then sight seeing becomes a chore, so beach and pools would be a preference. Too cold then site seeing becomes the order of the day. This hotel covers both options, it's right on the beach has great pools, and the tour bus stops right outside the door. You can purchase one or two day hop on hop off tickets from the hotel service desk....so for us as it happened it was a perfect choice. We struck lucky with the weather, it was sunny most every day, and a pleasant breeze during the day made it ideal for a bit of both. The hop on hop off tour bus is an ideal way to see a lot of Valencia in a very short time. The must see for us was the indoor market, where you will see the huge variety of meat, fresh sea food, veg, and local delicacies available to local people. I must say we left there feeling like we are very short changed in terms of the variety and quality of what's on offer in the UK.

The old town is a great place to explore too, lots of street art, buskers, nice architecture, some very interesting historic and religious places to investigate too.

This hotel is huge 200 plus rooms over 4 floors, spread over a large campus which is also home to a large conference venue. It was built on the site of a traditional 19th-century balneario and was the first grand hotel in the Valencia region. The hotel's beachfront location delivers ocean views and some accommodations have a private balcony or terrace with spectacular garden and sea views. Be specific, the rooms at front side of the hotel have views over a main road and no where to sit outside. Our room was well appointed the bathroom well equipped, with twin glass sinks, a bath with shower over it, and a separate cubicle shower which had more controls than the starship enterprise, and nozzles that delivered surprises to many sensitive parts of the body, and a seat to sit and meditate whilst the nozzles massaged your cares away. A nice touch if you enjoy a powerful shower. The bathroom also sports the usual toilet and bidet, nice towels, fit for purpose hair dryer, huge mirrors, and beautiful lemon fragranced toiletries from L'Occitane.

The room was clean, nicely furnished (albeit a little tired) and adequate, large firm bed, nice linen and pillow selection, lots of information, mini bar, nice easy control lighting, air con. No hot drink facility, but a complimentary bottle of water on arrival.

Only one comfy chair, and a desk chair to sit at. Nice balcony with a table and two chairs outside. Unfortunately it was quite windy and cool at night, which wasn't conducive to sitting out. The wifi, was poor when we arrived, but with some persistence, the maintenance finally solved that problem with a router in the room and from that point onwards it was fine. The domestic cleaning service crew were great. They were efficient, un intrusive, and very good at their job. Always a greeting and a smile. They were a credit to the hotel. In fact the staff in general were the same everywhere.

Breakfast selection was adequate, although I like bacon, as do many Brits....this hotel has no idea how to cook bacon. It's either cooked to a cinder, or ham like in delivery. Apart from that small thing the rest of the breakfast experience was great. Lots of fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries, cheeses, breads, cold meats, local sausage, white asparagus, yoghurts, and probiotic drinks to name a few.

The outside pool area is un heated, but very well appointed with loads of nice loungers/comfy chairs/umbrellas, and the towels provided are good quality. There is a great well staffed snack and bar area, average price per half litre of beer €5.

Eating dinner in the hotel can be expensive, and the published menu displayed the restaurant is not as diverse as some places I have stayed. The tapas however is reasonably priced, and our hosts were really helpful to explain the tapas menu and how to go about it. Many thanks to Sergio for that.

There are a lot of restaurants in the vicinity of varying quality. We tried two in our short stay with mixed results. We went for the obligable paella (when dining in the home of paella) unfortunately the first night was an over cooked disappointment, partnered with a bowl of probably the most over cooked gritty mussels ever, in the first one. This was a mistake. But we went twice to the second, whose grilled fresh sea bass and hake were well cooked well presented and very good. Choose your restaurants carefully.

The hotel has a twofold function, namely for beach time and for regular city activities, in spite of the location which, although very friendly, is not exactly in the middle of the area of touristic objectives.
On the other hand the access to the central part of the city is facile, not only by taxi, but also by bus and, more importantly, by the touristic bus which has a stop within 50 meters across the hotel.
Although initially we had not allocated beach time for the 3-nights stay, we praised the choice, as the weather was nice and allowed us to squeeze some beach walk and sea view!
No doubt, the hotel has a good balance between architectural style and functionality, in a peaceful, yet exciting way. It transfers a positive state of mind from the moment you watch it from outside. It's worth saying that most of the staff, genuinely positive in attitude and professional, contributed to the overall impression.
One small incident, however, with a senior waiter from the restaurant who seated us in the lobby for 'dessert only' and merely 'forgot' about us, just signalled that such things could happen even in reputed places, but could not reverse, or even alter our good mood. Possibly if I'd been on a business stay, I would have reacted differently...
