“Excellent hotel on a beautiful Spanish beach”
Reviewed June 4, 2011

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Las Arenas Balnerario for two nights in May 2011 and had a wonderful time.

The hotel is situated in the Las Arenas area of Valencia. While it is not close to the city centre, it is only a taxi or metro ride away. In fact, the metro (tram) stop is a short 2 minute walk from the hotel and is faster than taking a taxi. It was the perfect place to relax, while being proximate enough to facilitate trips to see the city-centre.

There are many restaurants next to the hotel. They are a mix-bag, however, so choose carefully. We had a snack at the hotel one night and found that it was over-priced for the quality. We had a much more enjoyable meal at a small family-run restaurant in the old-town called "La Utielana" so we'd definitely recommend venturing away from Las Arenas.

The room we were given was large by European standards and we had a lovely sea view from the patio. It was perfect for enjoying a bottle of cava.

The hotel also has a very nice pool for cooling down and sunbathing. Because we were travelling around Spain, primarily to see the sights in Barcelona, Seville, Granada and Madrid, this was a welcome break for some R&R.

We'd definitely return in a heartbeat!

Went with a group of girlfriends for a long weekend - it was perfect (helped that the sun was out for the duration). The staff in all areas were very polite and helpful. The pool bar and team there were great- the food is very good for a pool bar with some great wines. Had a massage at the spa which again is beautiful and one of the best deep tissue massages i have had in a while.
Taxis are always available outside the hotel which is great and makes getting around easy.
Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and really looking forward to going back.

We were in Valencia for the Festival de las Fallas and had been advised to stay away from the center of town. We made the right decision.

Hotel Las Arenas is an excellent facility in a very good location. The staff goes out of their way to serve guests. It's impressive. Consider this: One day we were getting a very late start -- which will happen when you get back at 2AM after enjoying the festivities the night before -- and wanted to have the room cleaned at around 4PM. Less than 5 minutes after calling the front desk, an entourage of no less than 4 maids (no kidding) knocked on our door. They reminded me of a NASCAR pit crew (only prettier). OMG.

We loved the place.

This 5 star hotel lived up to the reviews. The location is excellent - right on the beach in Valencia. The pool / gym area is excellent and the rooms were very clean and comfortable with free wifi. My only slight complaint was that we tried to extend our stay by one night and the Hotel tried to charge us double the available price on hotels.com for the same room. Also, the hotel is quite busy with conferences.

Spent just four days in Las Arenas on a short break to Valencia and we were very sad to leave. We'd booked a sea view room and loved it! The view was great, over the hotel gardens and the beach. The room was excellent (but not huge), comfortable, spotless and all very recently refitted the bathroom was excellent too with a massage shower and a seperate bath. We could not fault the hotel at all. The service was excellent and friendly and for this type of hotel food and drinks were very resonably priced. The hotel is a little bit out of town, but the tram / metro ride is easy and the area has plenty of restaurants and bars. As we visited out of season the hotel wasn't too busy and we found it a really relaxing place to be.

Room Tip: coffee and croissants on the patio, mmmm.

I recently stayed at this hotel when I was in Valencia attending a Conference. This is a very nice hotel - right next to the beach and the boardwalk which has nice restaurants. However, this is not the hotel to stay if you're attending meetings at the El Palacio de Congresos de Valencia or the downtown area. This hotel is about 1/2 hour away from the downtown/congress center. If you're planning on taking a metro, forget about it- you have to switch 2 trains and takes about 45 min-an hour to get to downtown. The taxi rides each way is about 10-15 Euros. So do yourself a favor, if you're attending a conference at the Congress center, pick a hotel close in downtown.

Las Arenas is a beautiful hotel. The lobby with views on the gardens and the sea set the scene for a perfect stay. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The hotel accommodated our early check-in request at 10am.
Rooms are very nice and all the ones facing the sea have nice balconies with stunning views. Sleep quality is excellent and bathrooms are amazing. We could not fault the room. The hotel provides free Wi- which is an additional benefit.
The pool (only open in summer) is large and would provide ample space for all the guests. The grounds are large enough with retreat areas to ensure a relaxing time. The indoor pool is very small. The gym has the latest equipment and faces the sea.

The breakfast buffet offers everything anyone could want and the quality of food is outstanding.

Las Arenas is a beach hotel. The centre of Valencia can be reached by public transport within 25 minutes. By taxi the centre is a 10 minute ride.
There are a few restaurants on the beach next to the hotel but not much else in the area.
This hotel is just the perfect choice for a long week-end combining sightseeing with relaxation.
