“Good hotel”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

Value for money hotel that is right next to a metro stop. Good place to spend a few days exploring Valencia.

We stayed at the hotel for a week in June and had a great time. The journey from the airport to the hotel was very easy and cheap thanks to Valencia's excellent Metro system which has a station (Beniferri) only two minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel staff were pleasant and welcoming on arrival.
Our room was on the 17th floor and had a good view from the window. It was clean and generally modern but the TV was a fairly small and old-fashioned CRT model with only 2 English language channels (BBC World and CNN). Thankfully, though, the excellent free wireless broadband helped to compensate for this and we were able to get some entertainment via the internet.
The bed was very large but, as others have mentioned, very firm - I didn't find it too uncomfortable but my wife called it her 'prison bed'!
The rooftop pool was an excellent bonus and generally quiet - a nice area to get some sunbathing done and a good place to take in the views of the city. We also went to the beach for a couple of days on the tram - Garbi tram stop is only about five minutes walk away and, particularly if you buy 10-trip tickets, the Metro system represents very good value for money (you can use these tickets on tram or Metro).
We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant one evening and found it to be quite nice and good value for money. However, the 'menu of the day' offering seemed to lack imagination and was always 'a variation on a theme' so were were not tempted to return to the restaurant again during our stay.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Valencia and found this hotel to be a good choice. It was also very good value as our nightly room rate was the same as we paid for a Premier Inn at Gatwick - taking this into account we were very pleased that we chose to stay at the Eurostars.

We were pleasantly impressed by our stay here. The staff are professional and efficient, and were extremely helpful about trying to straddle the language barrier - most had decent English to make up for my patchy spanish.
The rooms are a good size with impressive views and air-con, comfy beds, good bathroom, loo and bidet.
They look very flashy at first glance, and only after 3 or 4 days did we notice little giveaways that marked it out as 4 star - some of the lampshades were a little stained, and one of the metal jet-rings in the spa-bath kept coming loose. However, overall extremely nice.
The waiters and waitresses were helpful, and the roof terrace was a great place to relax by the pool in the sun (although it wasn't used to its full potential and closed each evening at 22:00).
Free internet on the restaurant/bar floor was very handy. Drinks and food were a little overpriced, but it's a big-city 4-star hotel so that was fully expected. We had tapas which were nice if unremarkable, but didn't try the main menu as it didn't seem very exciting, so can't fairly comment about it.
Was nice to be given a free welcome drink voucher for use on the roof terrace on arrival, and the reception staff were very accomodating in allowing us to leave our bags with them for the day after we had checked out so that we didn't have to cart them around.
Garbi overland metro station is within an easy 3-4 minute walk and connects within 10-15 mins with all major routes. It also runs straight down to the Malvarossa beach area if you stay on it, and you can get off at Pont da Fusta station and reach the Cathedral within a 5-min walk.
Impressively handy hotel.
Well worth it for the price.

The rooms were excellent and represent a good 4* hotel, I have stayed in many 5* and this hotel comes close. The hotel is 100m from the local tube station, with a selection of bars and restaurants nearby. The tube ride is 3 stops or 5 mins from the main centre, a cab ride was between 6-8 euros. The pool roof terrace really made it as the beach is across the other side of town, and it's heated!! My only slight negative was that the breakfast was a small selection of meats and cereals, but hey great Tapas is just down the road!!

Here for the Formula 1 weekend. Most other hotels were fully booked, and rates triple for the weekend, so we were stuck with booking this hotel. Here are just a few of the problems:

- Mattresses are extremely hard and had blood stains
- No iron provided in the room, must send clothes out for ironing service. If you came here with your clothes in a suitcase, what are you expected to do?
- Hotel is 15-18 Euro taxi ride to the beach. There is nothing to see or do within walking distance of the hotel, so expect to pay +30 euro round trip to go out
- We arrived late in the evening, so had to have dinner in the hotel. The pasta sauce was clearly not fresh and had been microwaved. Before heading out the next day, we ordered sandwiches for lunch, they were also microwaved instead of grilled.
- No shampoo/conditioner provided, only shower gel. They give you 3 small bottles. We asked for shampoo and they told us to wash our hair with the shower gel
- TV only has 2 english channels (CNN and BBC World News) and its a 14" tube, about 15-20 years old.
- The power went out 4 times last evening
- Terrible sewage odor coming from the bathrooms drains

Positives
- Good espresso/cappucino's in the restaurant and only 2 Euros each.
- Front desk staff were friendly and helpful
- Wifi is free and no password needed, connect once and you stay connected for your whole stay

This is a very peculiar hotel regarding rated stars; in 2012 chain brochure is presented as a Excellence 5* hotel and to the entrance as a 4*.

In fact it's a hotel made in a block together with Ibis and Novotel ( from 14'th to 23'rd floors) with average touristic conditions. Rooms are spacious, clean and quiet with nice views but the pillows are very hard. Separate toilet with bidet but very few cosmetics.Gym and sauna are to the last floor, from were you can have nice pictures especially to the sunset.
Breakfast is poor for a 4* hotel with very few choices.

I find very helpful the receptionist when in need.

It is not so far away from the main atractions having in consederation that is very close from a Metro station and is near from stop no.6 from the "A Historical Valencia bus" ( NOU MESTAlLA stadium).

I have been in April in Valencia and I stayed in Eurostars Gran Valencia Hotel.
The first impression wasn't very good. The lobby was not exactly what you expected it to be. The impression was that I entered in a block of flats and in the lobby was "camped" a receptionist. The so called lobby is on the same floor as the breakfast restaurant(14th floor). Later I realized that in this building are 3 hotels: Eurostars -"starting from 13th or 14th floor up to 24th floor, Novotel on one side and Ibis on the other side. These last 2 hotels have a real lobby. The rooms are spacious, but the bed is very "hard" so if you have spinal column problems maybe you can be pleased. The bathroom has a tube, but I didn't like the wash basin. The plinth for the wash basin was old, small and not practical one bit. You didn't have enough space to place your cosmetic stuff. You had only 2 small bath gels, one soap and the towels. And the hotel pretends to be a 4 star one. In my opinion barely you can give a 3 star rate. But maybe the management thinks that the view over Valencia is too good not to pay for it. If you want to go to the center you can take the bus nr.6 and pay 1.5 euro/person and in 10-15 min you are in The White Hall square. The city is build among a dried river(the river has been deviated and now the river bed hosts parks, tennis court, fountains). There are a lot of beautiful bridges. People are so calm, but I think that when the season begins the atmosphere will not be so tranquil. For a few days, if you are not there for the summer beach, is all right. The hotel is far from the beach and port(20-30min by bus) so if you want to spend your holiday near the sea you need to book another hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms facing the new stadium and the rotunda square.
