“Wonderful service and ambiance”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

The staff and service make this place really special and add to the charm of this lovely, modern, intimate--yet not overdone--boutique hotel. I immediately felt "at home" in the environment, even though it was a short weekend stay. Great food and spa services and the location was perfect--on a quiet but centrally located street that was a short walking distance to the parks, old town, major shopping and restaurant areas, and amazing museums. Rooms were very clean, modern, and comfortable. Even the halls had the most wonderful fragrance...nice touches that make this hotel a charmer. Looking forward to visiting again and can't imagine staying anywhere else in Valencia!

Room Tip: Recommend a street-facing room with balcony!

Well we spent one night here in transit from Granada to Barcelona.
The entrance to the hotel was unusual in that it was hard to pull up in a car as there is a service lane which is accessible to the well informed.
Once inside we found the staff to be friendly, welcoming and helpful. They had the same casual setup as Granada Hospes, but behind a glass desk.
We were shown to our room which was fine, minimalist and functional yet tired looking.
The bathroom was clean but also looking worn around the edges.
We had lunch in the Senzone and the food was great, but no other guests and a bit lacking in atmosphere.
When we returned from our excursion our room on the first floor at the front (104) was hot so I turned on the air-conditioning, but nada, nothing. Called management who first gave me mis-leading information, probably out of ignorance. Tried again and spoke to a more senior manager who explained that when the outside temperature falls below 15°C they switch to heating mode but can't do both.
Not good enough. A fiver star facility should be able to adjust room temperatures to each individual guests needs and wants. The same happened in a crappy place in Paris. Especially with climate change issues, European hotels need to seriously rethink their air-conditioning abilities or else loose clients.

On the Plus side the manager offered us another room (501), which was an upgrade but more importantly had windows that allowed ventilation without street noise, no charge with a cup of tea and a genuine smile. So the service was five star even if the accomodation is not.

Room Tip: 501 is up top, huge space and louvre style windows tat allow ventilation if the Aircon is not workin...

Had booked this hotel for a break with friends and didn't really have any expectations prior to arrival. Was immediately struck by the very graceful and stylish interior and the helpful staff at reception. The junior suite we were given (201) was absolutely stunning and perfect for us as we were with our 2 year old baby.

Our friends' junior suite on the top floor was massive as well but was a peculiar layout and was quite a lot darker.

The suite was enormous with a cool bedroom (the bed in the middle of the room), a nice bathroom with standalone bath and a beautiful living room with huge windows and big sofas - so perfect for relaxing or for our daughter to sleep in.

Location of the hotel was good - 2 minutes walk to an awesome panaderia, 5 minutes to a nice park and playground and 10 minutes to the central squares of the old town.

The only very remote negatives were that the rooms took a while to be cleaned each day, the bar was often not manned and the bedroom was quite noisy with passing traffic. But very minor points given everything else. Also we thought it was very good value at around 200 euros a night for such a great room.

Room Tip: Room 201 was much better than room 501

Great hotel, right in the middle of everything.
Good, multilingual staff. Excellent service. Good, healthy breakfast.
Traveled there on business, but will definitely come back to explore the city more from there.

Room Tip: Rooms on the street site are noisier.

I might take away points for being a touch hard to find for a driver, but that is the hazards of driving to a foreign city...

The two ladies at the front desk were fantastic (I mean that in the true sense.. service people this good are usually a fantasy). One spoke English very well and was extraordinarily tolerent of my poor spanish, while keeping a great professionalism, the other was multilingual in English (almost no accent), French (even less accent), Spanish (here I am unable to judge) and I was a bit afraid to ask how many others and provided us trilingual directions that were so clear and consise that even I could understand. We have found that the Spanish are among the most welcoming and helpful, and these two when above and beyond that call.

The room was clean, very modern, a touch scandanavian in design, the bed confortable, the sink large (double +) and efficient, the shower excellent, the old fashioned soaker tub bath a wonderful joy for my lady... Check out the marble stairs to the second floor, worth a photograph at the top...

The armoires (cupboards) were spacious, the ceilings high and elegant, the balcony small, but attainable and there, the view was the street in front..

We did not take the hotel parking, as we could find noplace to stop in front of the hotel, and there was a police operation (accident) going on up the street that kept us from pulling up in front. We did find an indoor parking just in back at the hotel that cost us half of what the hotel would have cost and was a 75 yard walk... around the corner and almost dead across the street from the hotel parking (mind you, no valet service here, and they will park the car for you... a tip.. you can pull up and park for a short time in front of the hotel. There is a small double street and stopping is permitted on the street a fact we did not know on our first pass through before we were not allowed to enter the street for a second pass.)

Would I recommend this place, in a heartbeat... A perfect little mid-town pocket hotel. I wish this staff could have been transplanted to all the hotels we visited in spain...

Room Tip: first floor for the walk up, higher to avoid city noise, although there is surpringly little at nigh...

Stayed on business for 2 nights in October 2012. The staff were very friendly and helpful although we did have to wait a good while to check in as the receptionist was taking a booking on the phone, a minor point.

The rooms are a good size, clean & well laid out.

Breakfast was an art form and there was a great selection of high quality produce, however at €24 it is a tad eye watering. You can get a three course meal for the same price in the city. It was very good but the cost needs addressing especially as there was only one member of staff serving.

Unfortunately I didn't get to sample the facilities so cannot comment.
