“Great city , excellent hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2014

The Silken Puerta Valencia was one of the stops on our Saga "tour " of the region . The rooms are very good, the bathrooms wonderful and as for the the food we only had the breakfasts which were excellent. Its a bit of a step into the City Center but its quite an attractive walk so no real problems there. The free Wi-Fi worked well. Staff were pleasant & helpful

Room Tip: They all seemed fine - very high standard - hard beds though

This was my first time in Valencia and it certainly won't be the last. The city is so clean and the people so helpful and friendly. The hotel was wonderful. I asked for a double room and got a large roomy room with everything you could want. The staff were all helpful - nothing was too much bother - and the breakfasts kept me going all day. The hotel was in an excellent location - just 5 minutes walk from a metro - and 20 minutes stroll into the old town. I would recommend this hotel to new and returning visitors.

Stayed here during the Las Fallas fiesta, had a room at the side if the hotel which would normally be quiet but we overlooked one of the marquees set up for the celebrations so it was very noisy. Rooms were comfortable and clean, bathroom was modern but no bidet which is very odd. Misho on reception was very helpful with all our various queries. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice, though not sure paella for breakfast would be top of my list, plenty of other things to choose from. Water as ever not hot enough to make a decent cup of tea but..... Main problem was the wifi, no excuse for it being so slow 0.14 download in this day and age not to mention the convoluted password system. The only plus was that it was better than no wifi.

Nothing special really, the room was ok, but the space was badly used, there were two arm chairs, a table and trouser press which were just taking up room. TV was ancient and the reception wasn't very good. Bathroom had no bidet. They replaced the towels every day even though there was a notice asking you to hang them up if you wanted to use them again, which we did. Shampoo etc were all nice. Liked the black-out curtains and it was fairly quiet even during Fallas. Had a quiet room at the back, overlooking a gym and some flats, not very inspiring but preferable to street noise.

Bed was huge and very hard, wonderful. Had to ask for more pillows.

You can hear people coughing in the next room and also when others flush their toilets you can hear it loudly in your bathroom. When people next door went out and closed them door, it made out headboard bang!

Dust under bed and behind bedside table. Came back one day and our key cards had stopped working, I had to go downstairs and get them changed. Also had a brief power-cut, which was soon sorted out.

Main gripe was lack of bidet.

Didn't eat at the hotel, I wonder how much food you can eat for breakfast for 15 euros? Much easier to get a coffee and croissant somewhere, between us, 30 euros (for breakfast) is our budget for lunch or an evening meal. You can get several buses to the centre, get a tourist ticket for 1,2 or 3 days from the tobacco shop and use the buses as often as you like, about 12 euros for 3 days.

100 euros a night was expensive but we did go during Fallas. Have stayed in better 4 star hotels so this was really average, it was more like a 3 star. If we went again, we would go to a different hotel maybe nearer the centre.

Room Tip: 304 is quiet and at the back but with non-inspiring view.

Room was very clean and presentable. The staff were very good and helpful. Breakfast was good. The only issue for us was its location. We felt that it was not central enough and required either taxi's or a decent walk to get to most attractions. If not for the location we would stay again.

We needed a short stay in Valencia for a day and this was the hotel of choice. The room were spacious, modern very well decorated. The staff is very helpful and gave us great tips for our short stay. I haven't tried the breakfast but looked like it had a good choice.

The location is great as its quite in the center but at the same time quiet neighborhood.

Make sure that you ask for a room that is Not facing the street , as it might get noisy at times.

The Hotel is located in a very good area, relatively close to metro stations (Amistat or Aragon). Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias is also close enough.
The room was very big compared to other hotels i've been and also very clean.
The breakfast is varied and really good.
I think it's best option for someone who need comfort and don't want to spent a fortune.
