“Well located spotlessly clean hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2012

When in Valencia I rarely spend much time in the hotel as it is such an outdoor culture place: great sunshine, wonderful beaches, excellent food, interesting architecture... little reason to stay indoors. That aside it's always a pleasure to sleep in an immaculately clean room and to find the staff extremely helpful whenever you have questions.
This hotel absolutely achieved this and to top it all is exceptionally good value for a hotel room in a major city, which is only a stone's throw away from places of cultural interst (ciudad de las ciencias e artes), a huge department store and shopping complex and lots of cafes...
I certainly wanted to stay here longer and will return. Even the outdoor pool is clean and safe.

Room Tip: all of the rooms are quiet as the hotel is not located on a main road.

7 nights , we had 4 rooms for our large family the best being ours 107 top floor great balcony.
we stayed half board the food and service were really good, huge breakfast to choose from and three course evening meal,
great place to explore Valencia from. you are between beach and city
as other review mention it is a walk to this hotel from tram , our advise would be get tram to Valencia Nord train station then the no 19 bus getting of behind hotel.
recommend going straight to tobacconist to buy travel card they sell for 10/20 journeys and are very cheap way of getting around.
nice clean pool, only a few sun beds but its nice to have a pool in a city hotel

Room Tip: top floor worth paying for private balcony room107 has the biggest balcony

We stayed at the Tryp Oceanic for 5 days during the F1 race in Valencia. The location was perfect. It is close to all the museums, gardens, good tapas and great shopping. It is a pleasant 1/2 hour stroll to the beautiful beach and port area where the F1 race took place. And it was just a short taxi ride to the historic section of Valencia.

There was easy access wifi in the comfortable lobby. The staff was pleasant tried to be helpful, but seemed very uninformed.

On the less favorable side, rooms were cheaply furnished. The beds were very uncomfortable. The walls were paper thin. The buffet breakfast was way overpriced. There was no coffee available without the breakfast.

Room Tip: be sure to ask for a non smoking floor if that is what you want.

We stayed at the Tryp Oceanic for a week, which seems to be longer than most visitors to the hotel.

This hotel was perfectly situated for our needs - namely a holiday that was partially beach, partially sight-seeing. It was right near to some key sightseeing activities (the Oceanografic aquarium a particular must), but was equally not far from the beach (walkable in about half an hour but much easier to get a taxi, most charged only 5 euros or so to the beach).

Breakfast was lovely and varied, staff very efficient and pleasant. Not everyone spoke English, it has to be said, although all reception staff had a good grasp of the language. Brush up on your Spanish if you're going anywhere other than the beach!

Room Tip: Lifts get v busy so a low-level floor might be best

This a great hotel for a visit to Valencia. The room rates are very affordable and the location is lovely - within walking distance to the City of Arts and Science and directly across from a large shopping mall and several restaurants and cafes. The rooms were spacious and clean - the bathroom was very nice. It had all the little extras that you might need - a bottle opener, a fridge, a great toiletries pack and most importantly an anti-mist mirror! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good with a range of both hot and cold food and drinks - sign up for a Melia card online before you come as this will get you 50% off. We used the tourist bus to travel in and out of the city centre - a great way to learn a bit about the history of the city. Tickets can be purchased on the bus and there is a stop beside the shopping mall. There is also a local bus stop next to the hotel as well as a taxi rank nearby if you want to get into the city centre quickly. The Valencia history museum is well worth a visit and only 2 euros admission price. Take a trip up the bell tower of the cathedral - a little sore on the legs but well worth it for the views. Overall a great hotel and a beautiful city.

This is a great hotel if you want to visit the City of Arts and Science - it is only a few minutes walk away. We chose to stay here because we wanted to visit the Oceanographic aquarium which is part of the City of Arts and Science. The hotel is quiet with good rooms - big beds - but we did find it a little too hard for our liking. The bathrooms are marble and very smart with over the bath showers. We would have prefered a walk-in one - safer when you are getting older!! We liked the hotel and the staff were very polite, cheerful and helpful. We had a problem with our air-con and literally within 5 minutes the engineer came to fix it - good service! We ate in both the restaurant and bar and had good food in both. There is a garden at the back with a swimming pool - a real plus in a city hotel. We enjoyed using the lifts which are external with great views! All in all a very good hotel, there is a taxi rank just at the other side of the department store El Corte Ingles which is just across the road. At the other side of this store there is a shopping centre with a super market. We would definitely return - we liked the area with smart apartment blocks and it's very close to the Turia - the green heart of the city.

Room Tip: Ask for a room over looking the swimming pool. There is a green area over the road belonging to the...
