“Good but crowded”
Reviewed October 10, 2011

As other reviews have said this hotel has an excellent location for access to the City of Science and Arts, with the river bed gardens also being just across the road. The old city was a 15 minute bus ride away and the beach is about 10 minutes on the bus in the other direction. There are a number of nice restaurants in the surrounding streets.
The hotel itself has decent facilities and the outside pool is a nice touch for a city hotel. The breakfast offered a wide choice and was of a good standard. The room was large, clean and very comfortable. The bed was huge.
The only problem was a large convention/ tour group who were arrriving on the same day as us. This meant lots of people milling around in reception, the lifts taking quite a while to arrive (on the 9th floor so essential) and the incredibly noisy breakfast buffet. There were so many people they had to convert part of the lounge to provide extra capacity. Whilst we did not have to wait more than a few minutes to get seated this seemed to be more luck of timing than anything else as when we left there were queues of 10-12 people waiting for a table.
Overall i would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to return here.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 days sep 9 to 12 to attend a conference at the Science museum. The room is clean but not spacious, the bathroom was, however, spacious and the hotel provided various convenient kits daily. Breakfast was great with many choices (including hot dishes). After the breakfast you don’t need a lunch. The receptionist were helpful. In term of location, the hotel is quite some distance away from old city center but there are several bus stops nearby, and bus 19 and 35 can bring you right to town center. There are shopping malls and many restaurants nearby (almost right opposite). It is Ideal place for those whose priority is to visit the City of Art sand Science. The only disadvantage (big one for some travelers) was that you have to pay for Internet access! Hard to believe but WIFI in this hotel is available only in the lounge, even if you pay for it. For this reason alone, I will not come back to this hotel again!

We arrived a little early and reception were very accomodating - the room that we had been allocated was not ready so they gave us a family room. Parking was a little expensive, but we felt it was worth the money for peace of mind and the safety of our motorbike!
Great location - We walked through the park to the old town - it was quite a pleasant stroll and not too far. Really comfy beds.
Breakfast was excellent

We stayed at this hotel last year after a visit to their sister hotel in Alicante. The big plus about this hotel was its location to City of Arts and Sciences - 0.5 km / 0.3 mi, L'Oceanografic - 0.5 km / 0.3 mi, L'Hemisferic - 0.6 km / 0.3 mi. It's a lovely 10 min walk from the hotel across the amazing Calatrava Bridge. Be sure to bring your camera for some amazing shots of all the above.
Back to the hotel itself: We would describe this hotel as business class. Comfortable and functional; but not memorable. The reception staff was very helpful. The room was comfortable/modern and, well, functional! Not exactly the sort of hotel you want to sit around in the evenings but then we always tend to compare mainland European hotels to Irish and UK hotels. An unfair comparison I guess as our hotels have usually a great atmosphere in the bars.
So there we have it, an unusually brief review. Good for location in Valentia; the price was reasonable. Cannot comment on food as we did not eat there. If and when we go back to Valencia we would definitely choose a different hotel though.

stayed here over la tomatina with a tour group, good location to some nice scenery and shops.
6 € to the city centre. overall pretty good, service at bar was a bit slow and rooms a bit short for space. but nothing really to complain about, staff helpful, would stay here again.

Our second time staying at this Hotel. Nice Hotel with friendly helpful staff. Stayed in one of their Family Rooms and it was quite comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of hot & cold food. Hotel is next to the Museum of Sciences and the Oceanographic. A short journey by bus or taxi to the city centre. Will hopefully return sometime.

Just returned from Valencia, Loved it.

Tryp Oceanic was a great place to stay, I had a premium room, was very nice, one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in for a hotel, nice bathroom with good products, pool was OK slightly small but good for a cooling dip, breakfast was good all your standard affair fried breakfast, to fruit, cereal etc.
Monica on reception was extremely helpful with all requests and always on hand to supply maps when needed, hotel is easy to get to from the airport, just jump on the metro line 5 and get off at Ayora stop and its a 5 min walk in a straight line, very easy, metro is really easy to use and cost 2 euro's 90 cents as opposed to a 30 euro taxi ride.
Easy walk to city of arts and sciences, museum of science was a little tame expected more, but buildings are very impressive to see, would recommend oceanographic, biggest aquarium in Europe and some impressive sights, tip. Dolphin show they expect you to be there 45 mins before start time or they wont let you in !! no one tells you this though !!
If you can afford it go to submarino restaurant in oceanographic, amazing, food was incredible and its a pretty special setting, ask for a table next to the glass, and you will have stingrays and sharks swimming by as you eat. beach is short metro ride away, great beat, very big, and even when crowded doesn't seam crowded, costs 6 euros to rent a comfortable sun lounger for the day and 1 euro 50 for locker for valuables which was handy,
The old town is again easily reached on metro get off at xativa again line 5, great sights to see cathedral, bull ring etc and can be walked in a couple of hours.
Tapas is a must and you should go to costa mantana. amazing tapas set in an old wine cellar, very cool, be sure to book its gets busy, and is popular with the locals which should tell you how good the Tapas is.
Went to Bioparc, this was really cool, a zoo that feels like a safari, lots of the enclosures have mixed animals which is unusual, so interesting to see mr angry hippo confront any other animal that went near him, but very cool place, different to most zoo's i have been to.
All in all a great place would go back.
