We decided on La Lola based on the Wallpaper guide and a recommendation from our hotel. We were very disappointed.
Service is slow. Took a good 15-20 mins to wait for our drinks and then a while longer for the order to be taken. There was a choice of a set menu or a la carte. Many people in the restaurant had opted for the set menu, however we decided to go a la carte. The starters were ok. Nothing too special. The mains were a different story. I opted for cod and my husband a medium entrecôte. Both were stone cold when they came out. The fish was taken back and microwaved and reproduced at speed. They offered to recook both meals but to be honest we were a bit over the place and wanted to leave. We asked for the bill. I was really not expecting to be landed with 90 euros to pay when the main courses were so poor. We then ended up in a heated debate where for 10 mins they refused to take the money off the bill. They said they had offered to recook it. In the end (after lots of muttering) they relented but not without a fight. What happened to the customer is always right? What poor service, food and experience.
