“Beautiful Cathedral”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

It is mixed between the three main religions that were in the country. It was build over a roman temple, over a musulman temple and finally the added the catholic parts to make it look like another normal cathedral.
There are three main door, which have each their own personality. You need to see this one because is very different from the rest i have seen in spain.

“Mass at the cathedral”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2013

Lovely to attend, should have gone to the Mass at 12.00 noon as it is a sung Mass. Very interesting building and the old chapel at the side is worth a visit

“Not extremely impressive.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2013

We were here in the semana santa so the cathedral was very overcrowded but we were not so very impressed by it. There is a big contrast between the altar part that is overdecorated and the simplicity in other parts of the church.

“Pray or Pay”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2013

The Cathedral has a sign at the entrance. Pray or Pay 3 euros. Not worth it. Go pray or, if you want to see a real Cathedral, go to Santiago in Gallecia. Little to get excited about in Valencia. If you must go in, try to sneak in the back door. Pass between the Basilica and the cathedral and you can normally get in via that entrance without somebody trying to take money from you. No guarantee but with a bit of confidence you will arrive right beside the alter.
