The staff at the front desk were not friendly. The rooms were not very clean, and the location was a 30 min. walk from the old town. The breakfast was mostly packaged food, but the cafe con leche at breakfast was good and unlimited. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

We stayed here as part of a Topdeck tour for La Tomatina.

The room was pleasant and clean, as was the foyer.

We didnt eat in the restaurant, we only had the breakfast which was very average, warm milk (which seems to be standard in Spain), off-smelling eggs etc.

It is a bit of a walk to the closest metro stations, Facultat was the closest and this takes you to the main parts of town.

There was a pub in the road next to the hotel which served three small beers for a euro which is a nice saving after expensive drinks and meals elsewhere.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Renasa in Valencia for 4 days in mid-June 2008. We live in the U.S. and are feeling the pinch of the falling U.S. dollar on this trip, so our choice to stay at the Renasa was heavily weighted by the value it offered: of the 3 star hotels in Valencia, this had the cheapest price (at least through the Orbitz site). We did not particularly enjoy our stay in the Renasa, but neither could we blame the Renasa -- judging by the price of other hotels in Valencia, we simply got what we paid for. Lets look at the pros and cons.

Pros: the location was good. A supermarket with an excellent selection of beer, wine, and ham, dried and smoked fish, olives, etc, was 2 short blocks away. A very nice Horchateria is maybe 10 min away. Buses nearby (though we walked everywhere), and a variety of restaurants (some quite good) within a five or ten minute walk. The city center is about a 40 min walk away. If you're on vacation, it's an enjoyable 40 min. The guy at the front desk during the morning was knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast was included with the room, and the coffee and orange juice were pretty good (though the rest of the food-- mostly packaged muffins and packaged toast was not very good).

Cons: Front desk staff in the evening seemed did not seem knowledgeable about how the hotel functioned. When asked about where we should park our car, we were given incorrect information about where to park it. Given incorrect information about how to access the wireless internet (I won't go into detail here but lets just say you should not count on reliable web access at this hotel, and whatever you do, do not buy the 24 hr wifi card at the front desk), Another con: the room was dingy, dirty and very dark. Also, there was a pervasive problem throughout the hotel where power was strangely available or not availbe to certain outlets. The morning guy had an idea of which switch at the fuse box would turn on the lamps in the lobby, but the afternoon crew were clueless. I helped them out by saying "no, the lights are still off" and eventually "yes, the lights are on", while they fiddled with the switches. Breakfast, as alluded to above, was meager and of poor quality (mostly packaged bread and pastry) so I ended up going to the nearby supermarket for some excellent ham and anchovies. Other cons: the bathroom is cramped, shampoo dispensor empty, and the room was not soundproofed very well.

In defense of the Renasa I should say that my wife and I stayed at other similarly priced 3 star hotels in Spain during a 2 week period (Madrid, Grenada, Toledo, Almeria, Valencia, Cuenca) and found the Renasa to be about in the middle of the pack. Evidently you get what you pay for.

I stayed in this hotel at the last minute as a result of an urgent meeting, my normal hotel chain, either A.C hotels or N.H Hotels were full. I saw the reviews here and thought I´d give it a try.

Firstly, this hotel is basic, basic, no frills. I had a double with single use (two single beds) but the bathroom was so tiny I could touch all four walls and nearly fell out the shower cubicle and put my foot in the toilet. The plumbing is not great and I kept getting sewage type odours coming out of the bathroom which meant I had to keep the window open all night. Which leads me to another problem - noise from the street, that kept me awake until 3.00am.

Thankfully i only arrived at 11.30pm and left by 8-30am but there was no way I´d have spent a second night.

Overall the room was clean but had an old "desperately needs a re-fit" , dusty feel to it, but the breakfast was good.

Anyone used to business travel type accomadation should stay clear, for people on a tight budget or a stag night it would suffce but only for one night. The night cost me 74 euros, thats way to expensive.

I´m going back to AC Hotels.

The hotel is near university with supermarket nearby. It's room is nice and clean. However, its shower tub needed a better design to prevent wafer leak out the tub. Its restaurant served great food in a great value. Surprisingly, we had best Valencian paella right in this hotel restaurent after trying various other places. Not all hotel hosts were fluent in English, but they tried to help and were very friendly.

Hotel Renasa was a perfectly normal hotel. Professional, clean, normal size rooms. Nothing fancy. Just standard 3-star hotel. The two downsides - you have to pay to park in the parking lot, which isnt very cheap, and the hotel is in a very drab section of town - all block apartments and lifeless streets.

We stayed at the hotel Renasa this past summer last minute. The hostal we had made a reservation at was dirty so we had to find a new place quick. The hotel offered us a double for 70 euros a night- not a bad price for a hotel. The double was HUGE- there was a living room, large bathroom, large bedroom, good airconditioning, and TV . There is a tramvia right by the hotel that will take you to the beach or to the center. There are also buses not too far from the hotel that go right to the center. I will definitely stay here again!
