We arrived late (midnight) after a delayed train journey, but were given a very friendly reception and were checked- n efficiently and with a smile. The room was comfortable, solid, quiet, had a rather old fashioned posh Spanish ambience, and a great view from a high floor. It is a 10-15min walk from the train station, and very well located in the city centre near the Cathedral. Given the fact that we obtained a low off-season weekend rate for our overnight (friday) stay, it was excellent value for money.

We stayed for two weeks at the hotel and used it as our base in Valencia.

We got a very good rate and felt it was very good value for money. Although the rooms are a little older, they are very clean and very well maintained. The bar and the breakfast are have been redone and are very nice.

The buffet breakfast is excellent and the bar food is good.

As it's a city center location, there is some street noise and also some noise from within the hotel - but never too bad.

We would happily stay again as it's a great location in the town.

Very nice hotel, feels very high class when you walk into the foyer.
We only stayed one night and didn't eat in the restaurant.
The location was great for walking round Valencia seeing all the historical sights and nightlife.
10 minutes walk from underground / overground trains.
I got a good rate through alpharooms and I would return again as Valencia is a great city.

I stayed here one night while heading to an opera in Valencia. The hotel on a small plaza just off the main plaza. Easy walking distance to the old town and to the plaza, where bus transport to everywhere is available. Lovely room though not especially large, beautiful hotel, great breakfast on the roof - they cook your eggs to order and there is the usual gazillion other choices of foods. It is not so easy to find if you are driving (I ended up paying a taxi driver to follow him!) but there is parking (for 19E per night) adjacent to the hotel, and that is very nice to have. Internet prices are good and the hotel is lovely and well located.

Very convenient location in the middle of old town. Also close to metro station.
Rooms are spacious, but the furnishing is a bit tired.

Stayed at Astoria Palace for several nights on business. Plus points - good location, nice restaurant area and good meeting facilities. Poor points - servcie painfully slow - from check in to wait staff to bar , everything seemed to take an age. Not particulaly good value for money either.
However I was really put off Valencia by my experiences in the old town - within an hour of arriving I had to fight off a couple of pick pockets ( I was more fortunate than 2 of my colleagues who lost their wallets that night).
When we stopped at a cafe near the Cathedral we were inundated with beggars, itinerants selling stuffed toys, plastic sunglasses , postcards etc etc plus a series of very poor street musicians who played a few notes then demanded payment. At one point they were actually queuing up to bother us. Even more irritating later that evening we were having a meal in a rather upscale restaurant and two of these street sellers were allowed free rein to wander about inside the restaurnat pedlling their wares.

This hotel is in an excellent location and is obviously used by some very well-heeled visitors to Valencia and for the first 2 nights of our stay we were very pleased. However on Friday and Saturday night the hotel was the venue for weddings. These were fine except that they hold a 'disco' in a 'small salon' in the basement of the hotel. This means that loud dance music is played from 1.30am to 5am without respite. This kept us up all night both nights and the hotel could not offer us another room of the same standard to move. They did however tell lies when we asked if the wedding disco would be the same on Saturday night. They said no and assured us that the party was upstairs and did not include a disco!! They knocked off 10% of our bill but this did not make up for a lack of sleep for two nights.
