A beautiful paradox tucked away in the alleyways behind Plaza de la Virgen, this startling little gem has it all. There is no doubt that this is one of the finest places to eat in the city.
Traditional fixtures and fittings and the couple-ran environment in this small 9-10 tabled eatery fail to give a hint to that which the grand entrance door may. The dishes are an absolutely treat, rooted in tradition but modernised in complexity.
I went with a friend for lunch and we ordered the fixed menu, which is 5 small courses. There was no choice whatsoever, including for the wine, and frankly I found that refreshing and unoffensive. Every course was a grand new experience, containing hints of dishes well-known throughout Valencia, but prepared with a tantalising twist of modern creativity. Although the portion sizes are very small, I was pleasently surprised to find myself completely satisfied after all 5 courses.
