We've just returned from a 5 night stay in this lovely hotel.
To start off with the receptionists were very friendly and gave us a map of Valencia indicating where to go etc. She spoke perfect English which is good considering that I have limited Spanish skills (something I want to change - it's quite embarrassing). The location is fine - 10 minute walk to the Cite of Arts and Science, 5-10 minute walk to Alameda metro station, 20 - 30 minute walk to the centre and 10 minutes on bus to the beach (the bus stop is right around the corner).
To be honest we tend to walk a lot on holiday because you then discover lots of pockets of sights, restaurants and bars which you would never see if underground or restricted on a tour bus, so the walking into town didn't bother us at all. We only used public transport 4 times (to and from the airport, to the beach and to the Bioparc).
The room was very spacious with quiet air con - a blessing in 25 - 35 degrees heat, nice toiletries in the bathroom and was cleaned impeccably by the chambermaid.
The bar was nice and had some outside seats to enjoy a beer. We used it a few times. Also had a quick breakfast of coffee and croissant on one occasion which was fine. Prices unlike other hotels were basically the same price as if you went to another cafe down the road which is a pleasant change from being ripped off. The result was that the bar was used by quite a few patrons when we visited.
The rooftop pool was very busy when we were there, so instead we walked a bit further down the lobby to a quieter roof terrace. Had the same sun as the pool area and was nice to relax in the evening after a long days sightseeing with a book.
Can't comment on the restaurant (which serves more substantial breakfast as opposed to the bar as well as lunches/dinners) or spa because we never used them.
As for Valencia itself it was a beautiful city with plenty to keep us occupied during our stay - try and do it more justice than just a weekend if you can because the more you walk around, the more side streets you walk down, the more you appreciate it. 5 days was perfect, but now I'm back I want to go back.
> The Cite of Arts and Science. We booked the full package, but really could have done just the Oceanarium - the Dolphin show was so fun!
> The Bioparc - the way it's landscaped makes it look really natural and you get to see animals so much closer than in other zoos. It feels more like a more 'tamed' safari.
> The food - L'eixample, which coincidentally is closest to the hotel (around 10 minutes walk) had the nicest ones. In the 'old centre' where more of the tourists are we found that the food was mediocre and were cheeky in adding the IVA (VAT to UK readers) on top of the advertised prices.
> Exploring - just walking around taking the city in whilst having a Horchata from the roadside stalls (Like a sweet almond milk - gorgeous)
Would I go again? In a heartbeat!
