Typically Valencian with wonderful waiters who have perfected their job so that they are there when you want them and serve things professionally and in a friendly way.
We ate the fish soup (to die for). A portion is more than enough for 2 people and they are happy for you to order one portion for 2 people. Wonderful stock full of langoustine, mussels, squid etc. The bowl is left at the table for you to serve yourself.
Then seabass in salt crust. You have to order it for 2 people and I generally don't eat much fish but this was devine!!!!!!!!!!!
They serve you a free dessert (unless you order one) of tiny profiteroles, black chocolate and desert wine.
Total price about 80 euros. Wonderful meal.
Went back and had an excellent Valencian Paella with rabbit, chicken, snails and broad beans. Wonderful sticky, unctuous flavours. Devine

The restaurant was recommended by a concierge at our hotel. We arrived early by Spanish standards and the place was almost empty. Nevertheless, we had to wait a long while and meantime a few waiters showed us a complete lack of interest, passing by without a word. Service at the table was also disappointing, with a head waiter almost throwing plates on our table. Only a young waiter, Hector, made a difference in service. Worth to mention that we speak Spanish so there was no problem in communication.
The food was good (we had tuna tartar, sopa de almejas and a paella) but the service unacceptable - what happened to Spanish hospitality?

This restaurant had a strange decor setup but the food was beautiful, presentation entertaining (they carve, fillet or finish cooking and serving at the table) and the staff very friendly.
They catered for my gluten free needs with gf bread, paella and desserts.
The only thing that dampened the night was the loud customers next to us...I don't need to hear your life story!!

The restaurant is located short distance from the main square on a narrow cobblestone street.

The outdoor seating, terrazza, is along the building on a street, adjoining by two or three other restaurants. Considering what is available inside in various dinning areas or salons, unless it is imperative that dinning is al fresco, this would not be the first choice. This dining area is more touristy, while locals tend to eat inside. The most attractive area is located on the mezzanine, with stain glass window, wooden beams, art work, etc. Well designed and appointed interior makes this restaurant a cut above from the others.

Comfortable chairs, table linens, obligatory bowl of Valencia oranges, for taking, completes the setting. The service is professional, attentive and still friendly to easily guide one through the large menu. The food is delivered in easy and proper manner and time. Menus are available in number of language and the servers are multi lingo.

The restaurant is classified as Mediterranean cuisine with emphasis on sea food. It also serves local dishes and products and according to locals it is No.2 place for paella in Valencia. The No.1 paella place is approximately 40 kilometers away from the city.

The fish and sea food are fresh, mostly wild caught and expertly prepared in number of ways to satisfy any palate. "Bar" appetizers such as olives, chips, tomato bread, etc. are gratis, as well as, before meal flute of cava. Serving of top quality of Serrano ham as an appetizer is more than enough for two. Sea bass in salt crust, or prepared with wine, grilled onion and Serrano sauce or prepared with garlic sauce are outstanding. ANd then…there muscles! There are six or more paellas and some are available in individual servings. Chicken, rabbit, snails, fava and pole beans …equals to one of the best tasted Paella Valenciana.

Cream catalan and orange cake are not to be missed.

Wine list of well selected local wines is deep and extremely reasonably priced. Due to many local wines not necessarily available in many other parts...it is wise to ask and heed the advise of the servers.

Don't forget to take an orange when you are leaving!!!

We spent a couple of weeks travelling from Bilbao to Valencia via Zaragoza and enjoyed some really good food at all three cities. Spanish cuisine has so much going for it and the variety of fish dishes is particulary impressive. However, without doubt, this was the best restaurant of the holiday and we ate there three out of our four nights in Valencia and it would have been four out of four had we not chosen another place on our first night in the city.

Let's start with the premises. Very good inside and out (which is where we chose to eat). Spotless. The service was consistently very good with nothing proving to be too much trouble. The food- FANTASTIC! We ate mussels and scallops as two starters on our first visit and restricted this to just mussels to share on our return as the portion was so generous. Our favourite was undoubtedly the sea bass baked in salt which was just delicious. An additional plus is that the evening starts with complimentary Rose Cava followed by that lovely toasted spanish bread with tomatoes and olive oil and is concluded with a glass of desert wine and profiteroles on the house. Add in a good bottle of wine and some mineral water and the bill came to about 80 Euros.. Excellent value and highly recommended.
