To really have a true appreciation for Lladro you shouldn't pass by this experience. Seeing first hand the skill and expertise that goes into creating each piece will change your love for these creations. If you are lucky enough to be able to arrange a private tour it will be a highlight of your stay in Valencia.

“Lladro Factory”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

Very informative to see and learn that they have molds for large pieces and also small molds for tiny pieces such as fingers that are bent. Watch the miniature flowers being made petal by petal and get to see the artists hand painting each piece. The tour ends up in the "boutique museo" where you can see pieces from less than 100 euros to more than 20,000. There is absolutely no pressure to buy anything. Prices are similar to those in the US with conversion; however, they do have a few pieces that are only for sale in Spain. Our tour guide Rosana was nice enough to help my wife with a purchase.

“Educational, Entertaining and Free!”
Reviewed November 15, 2013

We very much liked our tour of the Lladro factory and museum. It was very interesting to see how the molds for the figures are created and then how each item is finished by hand. We also loved the museum pieces and seeing all of the creations. Finally, it was great to shop in the store where they had great prices on a wide range of items. And all of it was free (unless of course you decide to buy a figure)!

“A mermaid with a gold tail.”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

Although I collect porcelain, I did not have any Lladro. I had been to the Worcester factory in England and a Dresden factory in Ireland (near Adare Castle). Yes, a Dresden factory in Ireland. They gave some lame reason for that. The factories are much the same, but the Lladro factory was definitely in a higher category, more professionally put together. Their showroom was like a museum and it was a very good experience. Yes, I bought a piece. A mermaid with a gold tail.
