A charming boutique style hotel with a funky bar and a great restuarant attached. small and intimate and right opposite a musuem. location is great: a block or two off the main square.

the cons are really what you pay for or rather, what you dont for the price: a pretty small room, an even smaller bathroom, ancient 3 perosn sized creaking lift. but thats all part of the charm?

probably best for singles given the above points although worth checking if larger rooms are available and at what cost...

The SH Ingles is conveniently located in the old--charming--part of Valencia. It is less 10 min. walk from the Metro Station Colon, from where you can take the Metro to the airport or bus station. You can also take a bus to the magnificent City of Arts and Sciences. It is within walking distance to many major attractions, such as the Cathedral, the Central Market and the park which was a river before (Jardin del Turia). The hotel is located across from the Ceramics Museum. The receptionist speaks English and is helpful. The room is bright, clean, and smartly appointed. The slightly downside is that the wi-fi reception on the 3rd floor is weak during the day. It is reasonably priced, and I'll definitely go back again.

We spent one night here when travelling through. The building looks good from the outside and is set off by the lovely Ceramics Museum across the lane. You can have a drink on the pavement looking at the Museum's facade. It is quite smart inside with an intimate feel. The room was quite small as expected in European cities but clean and fresh. Conviently located to the Cathedral and other highlights in the city. Parking was around the corner a short walk away and the reception staff were pleasant and helpful though the barman was a bit surly. A good choice for something not too expensive or big but with many creature comforts.

the hotel is good, nice in the city centre, but if you want to sleep good, you should go somewhere else. The matrasses are very old and of poor quality, so sleeping is difficult. the breakfast is nice, but meats, fish and cheeses should be kept cold on a buffet. The service in the reception is good, they take their time if you have any questions

This hotel is really central in Valencia in the heart of the old town. We travelled from the airport, using the metro to Colon. The hotel is about 10 mins walk away. Staff were friendly and happy to speak English if necessary. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel has a restaurant but you are very close to loads of restaurants, tapas bars. We used nearby cafes for breakfast and had plenty to choose from. Not all rooms have balconies, but ours did which was a real bonus. We'd definitely use this place again.

Pro's:
- Beautiful building located in heart of the old city, all attractions are within walking distance.
- Friendly and helpful staff.
- Clean rooms, comfortable beds and always hot water from the shower :-)
- Free unlimited wifi, and also a little Internet-corner with free use of the printer.
- Trendy restaurant/bar that serves delicious food and with a lovely terrace overlooking the entrance of the ceramic museum.
- Easy accessible from the airport by metro, lines 3&5 leave there and both stop at 'Colon' a seven minute walk from the hotel.
- Bike rental around the corner.

For improvement:
- seating for breakfast.
- boiled and scrambled eggs at the breakfast buffet.
- coffee at the breakfast buffet (the cappuccino from the machine tasted more like hot chocolate)

Had a great stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

My husband and I have just come back from 3 nights at SH Ingles. Lovely hotel in dead centre of town. Spacious bedroom with lovely view overlooking ceramics museum. Housekeeping was excellent with clean towels and sheets everyday. Only let down was the very poor breakfast buffet (which wasn't cheap at nearly 12 euro's each). We could of excused poor selection of food but what was inexcusable was poor service. There is not enough tables for very busy hotel, but on arriving for breakfast most tables were left uncleared. Waitress on saying hola then disappeared and came back with two mugs when all we needed was a clean space to sit! Her waitressing skills are very lacking! Sorry but wished we had not paid for breakfast and eaten outside hotel! Its a shame on what is otherwise lovely place to stay.
