This hostal is indeed a hotel with 2-stars and compared with the price it is perfect.
Location is in the very center of the old part of town and within walking distance from all you need inside Valencia. However for a trip to the harbour or the science center I would take a bus.

There are a couple of issues to consider before choosing the hotel.
I'll divide them into minor and major:
Major observations:
Hotel doors are thin as paper and thus very loud.
Bad smell of sewer throughout the most of the hallways and lobby - not enough for me not to return - but others might find it too much.

Minor observations:
Smelly towels
Small rooms (but this is normal for a 2-star hotel

We booked this hotel, thinking it was a host based on the name and the price, so we were extremely happy when we checked in and realised that it's actually a boutique hotel.

The location could not be better, as it is right in the heart of the city. We had an awesome view from our balcony which was at the front of the hotel.

Although small, the room had everything we needed, including wifi. There were also free computers downstairs which we used to book the next leg of our trip.

One downside was that there was no parking at the hotel, but it's probably not surprising considering its prime location. They have a de with a public underground carpark not too far away, so that worked out fine apart from the dent left on our car while parked there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and I'd highly recommend it.

I was there in Dec with my family. Indeed, we were delighted with the place and its surrounding. All attractions are so nearby. Room is big and they have a huge bathroom for Europian size. The staff is extremely helpful. As I misplaced the original receipt when I am back home, they took the extra miles to send me a copy of the original receipt via post upon my request. No real negative comment despite some mention lif is tiny. Well, we just have to follow the rules!

Thank you, Ms Maria and Rosa and the entire front desk. Good job!

Stayed for 2 nights. The actual location was great, the front desk staff were helpful and professional. They couldnt do enough for you.The left luggage facilities were secure and easy to use. The view from my room (316) was excellent. The room itself was modern and clean, though it could do with greater storage for clothes etc. The fridge came in handy, though we didn't use the TV or phone, etc. the bathroom is a little cramped but came with a hair dryer and toiletries. The bed was extremely comfortable.
The major cripe was the intermittent WiFi, it would drop out in my room for up to 30 minutes. No excuse in this day and age. Though their are free computers near reception.
The sleep quality here is poor. Firstly, the traffic. The hotel is not at fault here as they have very good double windows, it's just the location. But you can't have the view without the traffic. However, the wooden floating floor is very noisy and the house cleaning, vacuuming etc starts at 9am. Too early when most people are up late in this city.
Overall a good hotel, that could be further easily improved.

We arrived by boat and took a bus into the city, which stopped pretty much at the front door. The room itself, although basic, was clean and comfortable and the ensuite bathroom was also fairly well equipped. It all looked to have been recently refurbished. The location is excellent and within walking distance of all the main areas of interest, although buses go from the main square outside, and it is about 5 minutes walk from the main station. I would highly recommend this hotel for a tourist break in Valencia, as it was excellent value for money given the standard of accommodation and the location.

We stayed 2 nights while travelling between Madrid and Barcelona. It is on Plaza Ayuntamiento, a short distance from Estacion J.S. and, in the other direction, from the market, the Silk Exchange, the Cathedral and the Basilica. The room was small but clean and comfortable. A window opened out onto a balcony and the plaza. However, we were not disturbed by noise. Staff were very helpful.

Advertising itself as a hostel, but really a very well-run little hotel. Again, I struck lucky booking here after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. It was as conveniently located as I'd been told (a shortish walk from the railroad station). Our very clean, compactly arranged room faced directly onto the beautiful Plaza, which ensured that our view was as good as a reality TV show: taxi drivers playing cards and eating lunch, theatre-goers across the street, a labor demonstration related to the nearby Ford plant, all the usual coming and going you see in a Spanish city by day and by night. (The room was also quiet, by the way. If we shut the double-glazed window onto the balcony, we couldn't hear a thing.) Breakfast was sufficient to set us up for a day's sightseeing, and the hotel is very near the pickup points for bus tours that cover the old city and the new attractions like the Palace of Arts and Sciences. We spent a very pleasant three days here before going on by train to Barcelona. I highly recommend the Venecia to others who are coming to Valencia for the first time.

Room Tip: Not expensive, so if you would like a little elbow room, ask for one of their larger units.
