Owner description: BIOPARC VALENCIA is a unique zoo. Its design employs the “zooimmersion” concept, in which visitors are surrounded by meticulous recreations of the natural habitats being presented. Social animals that live together in groups are displayed, as well as groups of different species that coexist in the same habitats. Predatory species are integrated into the visual space, but are separated from other species by barriers invisible to the eye of the visitor, ensuring the safety of both the animals and the people. The animals, vegetation and landscape provide opportunities for discovering the complexity of natural ecosystems.

“Pretty much everything a Zoo should be”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

Having visited about 30 zoos, I have to say that this is probably the best one I have ever been to. Yes, other zoos have individual exhibits that are better, but as an entirety, this is just fabulous. My wife and I took 4 "non zoo visiting" friends with us and they were blown away, so much so, that they wanted to go round a second time. The exhibits are beautifully constructed and landscaped, with unobstructed views of the animals over ditches or moats, or where appropriate, through glass. My only criticism was that I couldn't see any evidence of enrichment activities for some animals, such as the great apes, but as they are breeding, they are clearly content.I loved the way that animals are kept in mixed enclosures, as well as, where appropriate, large groups, such as a proper pride of lions, rather than just a pair. If you only go to one zoo in your life, make it this one !

“excellent day out”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

Brilliant day out for all the family. You can get really close to the animals....We travelled to Bioparc by the metro and its quite a walk and its not signposted very well!! however it really is worth a visit when you get there. The park does not let you take food in...but they will keep it for you till your leaving the park.We went in the afternoon so some of the animals were sleepy(lions) so perhaps going in the morning might be a better option.

“What a place.”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

Wow this is a zoo like no other zoo. It's just like being in with the animals. It also gives you the feeling of being on safari. Watching the baby Elephant playing in the water with just a small wall between you, you could almost reach over and touch it. As for the Meir Cat family they were a delight to watch. There is a very good restaurant serving meals a affordable prices, but if you only want a snack there is a very good snack bar. There is parking under the zoo. Plus opposite the zoo is a large supermarket so you can also get your shopping.
