Owner description: BIOPARC VALENCIA is a unique zoo. Its design employs the “zooimmersion” concept, in which visitors are surrounded by meticulous recreations of the natural habitats being presented. Social animals that live together in groups are displayed, as well as groups of different species that coexist in the same habitats. Predatory species are integrated into the visual space, but are separated from other species by barriers invisible to the eye of the visitor, ensuring the safety of both the animals and the people. The animals, vegetation and landscape provide opportunities for discovering the complexity of natural ecosystems.

I went to visit the Bioparc after reading other reviews on Trip Advisor. The Bioparc is quite extensive and well worth the visit. It is great for families. The park is well laid out, with little shelter from the rain - not a problem in Valencia unless you get the odd thunder storm. Although a little pricey it is worth the money. I would recommend checking what time the shows are on at and program the visit accordingly.

Not everybody likes zoos, but it is very exciting to be able to come close to the animals. The staff are biologists and specialists in animal welfare and are passionate about ensuring that the animals experience as little discomfort as possible. The breeding programme is impressive, which means the animals must be content. It is only 5 years old but they have tried very hard to make the habitats resemble the natural habital as much as possible. The animals have a certain freedom, but still are contained in enclosures. Our guide was passionate about the animals and her work. Well worth a visit, especially for children.

The hippo took a major dump in front of us :-)... the setting is super nice for a zoo.
The orangoutangs are great and they seemed to be putting on a show for us.
If they had public water fountains (at 24 euro/ticket, I think it's due), it would have been a perfect experience.

Left home at 7am, so we could have a full day enjoying the animals.
Paid the exorbitant prices, tried to go in & were then subjected to a full bag search. You are not allowed to take any food in at all. We had prepared a picnic, as we wanted to be there all day.
We were not told before we entered, we saw no mention of no food on the internet.
This spoilt our day, as we had to go round once, and then go find somewhere to picnic. They would not let us return. so instead of a full day we had a couple of hours.
It was not crowded, but with their unfriendly policy we were not surprised
The enclosures & the animals were good. It was just the humans...
