I visited this restaurant with my two young children, and their grandparents. On entering the restaurant without my dad or his wife (regulars at the place) we were shown to our reserved table without so much as a smile, no offer of drinks and no offer to peruse the menu before we were joined by the remainder of our party. The manager/owner was rude and snooty, and my request of a bottle of water seemed to interrupt his swanning around the restaurant. When the grandparents arrived, he warmed somewhat and menus were bought across straight away.

Food was OK but with the menu being structured in such a way that you had to have starters and main from the same section (price band of €25 or €33) rather than being able to mix and match and simply paying accordingly for each dish - which was somewhat limiting. A new chef apparently, though not a patch on what used to be on offer.

Don't bother taking younger children there, they make no concession to accommodate them whatsoever - with no children's menu or smaller sized alternatives for them.

Wouldn't go back!

One of the best restaurant on the playa, lovely view on the bay .Have been to this restaurant before and was expecting a night of good food we weren't disappointed .
The menu started with complimentary taster cauliflower and mint soup (it is served cold !i was sceptical but it was delicious ,followed by goats cheese and walnuts ,a lamb dish with garlic potatoes fresh vegetables,we were all so full up we had to share a sweet of a medley of chocolate dishes ,wonderful .Could not manage the coffee!!
If you want a relaxed evening with lovely food ,book it you won't be disappointed

Very nice restaurant. I went here with my girlfriend and came here because of tripadvisor. Many thanks to all people who left a review here.

The restaurant was realy nice the owner is friendly and speaks good english. The food was realy good

First we had a soup (a gift from the restaurant)
Than they came with some bread.

The food was delicious (good portions) and the desert was realy good as well.
We both had a double espresso in the end witch was realy hot so good never had a espresso this hot.

Would definitely eat here again. Thanks for a good memory

This is a restaurant where we have eaten on a number of occasions. The location is excellent and food is typically enjoyable, therefore it is often on the 'hitlist'. Sadly, recent visits have brought continued poor service with the Owner having a distinct lack of charm and an overwhelming sense of his own importance. Delusions of grandeur and an unfounding belief that his restaurant serves outstanding cuisine, which is in reality, simply reasonable food. Our last visit ensured la ripaille will be relegated to the 'never again list'. A wait of one hour fifteen minutes before any food was served. A miniature cup of soup with no breads and a full two hours before our first course arrived. No apologies or good grace, simply confirmation that we should wait for good food and not dain to raise the issue. Less than no customer service as it was quite clear there was to be no apology and no requirement to in any way appease the situation. A wait of 40 minutes for bottles of water and again, no apology. An expensive evening which resulted in any unhappy group of friends who never fail to enjoy an evening. It would be fair to say that this particular Owner embarrassed himself with his behaviour and distinct lack of awareness of how an excellent food establishment should be run. I've yet to write a review of this nature and I take no pleasure in doing so, however, if I can ensure that even one family or group of friends avoid having an evening ruined, then I'll be satisfied with the outcome. Sincerely, Deborah.

It's a shame something like this happens
This is a personnal attack not against the restaurant but against one person
At first we speak about a small soup who"s not on the menu but who's a gift to the customer before a starter. The size of the cup is not really important for a welkom gift. And we don't give bread indeed with a appetizer but well after, before the starter is coming.
At second it can happen when a restaurant is full and everybody very busy to forget to bring a water or something else, i think it is not a real problem for the custormer to ask if maybe we forgot the order and not waiting ''40 minutes??''
Then 2 hours waiting for first course?? I think that each customer who wait allready more than 1 hour a first course will ask the bill without eating
And and and ...

Best of all, at the end of the diner, 2 people from this table came to us to say sorry and to say thank you for this good meal.
If our meal was so good before why is it not another positif review before if the people came so often?

I ask to everybody to be honest with tripadvisor.
Internet is not a game
Thanks to all the customers who follow us
