The villa is very quiet and peaceful with lovely views of the mountains. You need a car as there are no shops, restaurants or bars nearby. Empedrola is a residential area but we knew just what to expect as we have holidayed in Calpe for over 25 years and in Empedrola for about 12 years.
The villa is advertised on some sites with a wheelchair logo but this villa is Not disabled friendly. There is a step into the villa, another into the main house and 16 steps with a bend up to the bedrooms and the bathroom. Luckily there is a shower room downstairs so you don't have to go up and down the stairs all the time.
The villa is a little old-fashioned but has everything you need. The kitchen is quite large and well equipped but no teapot or tea towels. The inner room which looks like it was originally the main lounge is really just an open empty space.
The bedrooms are a good size and the bathroom is very nice and modern although the bath is small and hard to get into- the over bath shower is good and there was always lots of hot water. Loads of nice white towels provided. The windows have fly screens and as the walls are quite thick and the villa fairly dark inside, we had no difficulty in sleeping in spite of the heat. There is a television but it is not satellite- the only channels were in German. The Wi-Fi is very efficient.
The outside space is massive but a bit empty. Sunbeds, tables and chairs are near to the villa and the pool so the rest is just mostly concrete. The pool is a very good size but only cleaned the day after we arrived and not 2-3 times as we were told. We had a few issues with broken items but they were replaced with new as soon as we reported them.
