Atmosphere and surroundings are lovely and very good service. Portions are somewhat small and the food is very good although pricey. Not somewhere I would go too often but occasionally it is a nice place to go.

Top billing on Tripadvisor based on eight or nine previous reviews doesn't always guarantee that the food on the plate is everything that one would want, let alone the intangible, but all important "atmosphere" that makes for a great night out.

Having booked only two days prior and secured a table for five on a Saturday night, one could be forgiven for having a few doubts about the credibilty of those early field reports. On the otherhand in early November most restaurants in Calpe/Moraira will be happy to be ticking over.

On arrival first impressions are good: a warm welcome, nice decor, perfect lighting level and solo guitarist/singer (who sang all night and was very good). Drinks and food ordered, the service all night being attentive, neither fussy nor there ever an empty glass.

On to the food, portions are good sized, and of outstanding quality. Of particular note the Chateaubriand is a delight, and followed by chocolate souffle this is really food heaven.

As the evening progressed every seat in the restaurant is taken, which given it is November is quite an achievement, but it is hardly surprising given the quality and attention to detail that the owners have produced. Based on this experience it may be necessary to book earlier next time.

Excellent.

We had dinner here on the recommendation of our Spanish teacher who ate here a few weeks ago. And I can concur with her recommendation

This is not cheap food, but it is good food and is value for money.

We chose their Chateaubriand menu - choice of 2 starters, Chateaubriand carved at your table and choice of puddings. This is at the top end of their price range and total bill came to around €90 for the two of us at the end of the evening.

The restaurant is on the main Calpe to Moraira road on the edge of Calpe. You need to check from their web site to make sure you know where it is. And the parking is a bit odd too. Two options, one is over the road, directly opposite, the other is in the next door property.

Anyway once you have parked and gone into the restaurant, then you can relax and let them take you along with the flow of the food. We thought that not only was the food good, but the service had the right balance between professionalism and friendliness. The ambience was very pleasant too.

So at the end of the evening we thought that we had received good value for money and certainly will be returning
