“Location a plus”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

We had one of the set meal Tapas for 2. We paid 35 Euros for the food alone and for us we thought it was good but poor value for money. The service was fine but we felt we were paying for the location which in fairness does add to the occaision but we will not return

“THE reason to visit Benidorm!”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

We've been to Benidorm for the last two years and we were not going to go again, but when we were looking for a holiday in September we just couldn't resist. Why? Two reasons really, the Deloix Hotel and, most importantly, La Rana!

Chus and Tino are the friendliest waiters in the world, they love their restaurant and they want to share it with YOU! Even when it is really busy they will try and find time to chat to you and explain anything you are unsure of on the menu. I recommend you don't even bother with the menu though, just ask for the set tapas meal, sit back and enjoy the food that keeps coming...and coming....and coming!!!! Or, have the steak in Jubugo sauce...or..or..or!! It's all great.
The food and wine is beautiful and the setting is lovely.
We visited several times during our 10 night stay.
Another wonderful holiday made special by Chus and Tino, thank you very much my friends!
And thanks for the Hierbas...I think?...Very powerful stuff!! :o)

“Traditional, terrific tapas”
Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

First time we have eaten here and definitely not the last! Friendly service, great food, traditional setting and good value of money. We paid €17.50 each for a tapas set menu of: salted fish, bread and dips, crispy squid, cheese and Serrano ham, stuffed peppers, ham and cheese croquets, chicken and chorizo, fruit. We stayed about 2 hours - never felt rushed, despite the restaurant obviously being very popular. We drank great sangria and enjoyed watching the cooks, in the open kitchen, perpare the delicious food. Want quality tapas? Want a traditional Spanish setting? Want value for money? La Rana is the place to go!

“Thank you trip advisor!”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

On holiday in benidorm with my husband and 5 year old son, looked on trip advisor for places to eat and this restaurant had good reports so we tried it. Lovely restaurant down a quiet cobbled alley, had to ask locals for directions, would never have found it otherwise! We were not disappointed, the place was very quaint, in a lovely location, staff were so welcoming and helpful. We had set menu for 2, I am vegetarian but they did us a great selection of meat dishes and vegetarian, the food just kept coming, we were so full! The food was delicious, our son tried everything and really enjoyed it too. The wine was the nicest we have had whilst on holiday, kept chilled in a cooler. Without a doubt the best meal we have had so far. We were the first to arrive that night, got a lovely table outside but I think we were lucky because the others were reserved. The restaurant inside is small but was full when we left, speaks for itself. Thank you trip advisor, we would not have been for a lovely meal here if we had not seen the reviews!
