Been going to benidorm for 12years now this is the worst place I've stayed. Had a 2bed apart was 6 of us pretty cramped massive balcony that hardly got the sun infested with ants no clean towels in a week unless u pay 2euros each for some 8 sun beds but apartments are for at least 100 so I was told rudely. 3 of the floors had been taken over by gypsies u couldn't get round the pool or get in it for that matter for the jumping in and dive bombing got there sun morning had to sit till 2pm before they gave us keys managed to get 4 sunbeds on the following thurs my friends popped to shop I was sitting with the beds where their towels were nd caretaker says 100 people stay u can't keep bed
which I said hang on a min this is the 1st time we've actually got the beds. I never get bite but by Christ the ants had a great feed off me..lol

Stayed here with a group of girls. Usual self catering facilities but no washing machine and the kettle was working but you had to manually turn it off.
No air conditioning but was bearable with windows open. Hot water was not always available for a shower. TV was free and a few english channels, sky news was a bonus.
Property was secured with an outside gate which was left open most of the time or you needed the key to open it.
Stayed for 8 nights and not one sight of a cleaner nor a change of towels. We had to pay 2 euro each for new towels. Even though they have a big balcony the sun never really gets on it properly. The pool is very small, hardly any sunbeds and the one day we got some, when we went for a spot of lunch intending on returning to sunbathe we got told off the staff to remove our towels. No toilet facility near the pool and ants everywhere not welcoming at all.
It is in a fab location and it is noisy, if you like a siesta you will struggle but even though it is noisy on a night you can get to sleep.

Room Tip: Higher floors will have better views

we stay at the carlos v apartments about 3-4 times a year, they are basic and clean but excellent staff and location. They are noisy but not bad if you go for the hustle and bustle, as by the time you come to sleep its quiet. they are very near to the strip but a stones throw from the beach and strip makes them a perfect stay. very reasonable on price too.

Room Tip: floor 3 A.b.c

We stayed in the Carlos V at the beginning of June 2013. Me (35) and my parents (both 61). With the price paid for the apartments, we knew we werent going to the Ritz so our expectations were not high. We were pleasantly surprised-the apartments were basic but had everything you needed for a self catering holiday. We were on the 5th floor and Yes, they could have been doing with updating but nothing that bothered us too much. The shower was hot, all electric stuff worked and there was plenty of room for the 3 of us with room for more (we had a 2 bedroom apartment). We were only given 1 set of towels for our weeks stay but we knew this from reading previous reviews and had also brought our own.
The reception is not manned 24 hours a day but soneone there for most of the daytime which made checking in and out very easy for us. I paid for wi-fi at 19.95€ for the week (worth it I thought). The pool was small but was good enough for a dip in and out just to keep cool. You have to walk round the corner to access it but only a minute or so. There was some nights where there were groups of boys staying and things got noisy with some high jinks etc within the apartment but from listening around the pool the next day, they were warned by the caretaker to keep the noice/partying down. The apartments are gated and the front door was kept locked "most" nights.

Now onto the location of the apartments-if you want peace and quiet for sleeping then this is not the place for you. Its situated right in the middle of everything so the noise goes onto the early hours of the morning. I had earplugs with me as again, we were aware of the location from reading previous stuff. If you know Benidorm, then its located on a corner ( right across the road on one side from Rocky's pub and on the other side The Red Lion). For me, this was ideal-we were never further than 10 minutes walk from anything we wanted and the beach is only 2 streets away too. I personally thought it was an ideal location.

We ate out practically every day/night as everything was so cheap... Fed the 3 of us for under 20€ each night. Our favourite haunt being Otello's...just a 5 minute walk away.

We had read previous reviews about the "ladies of the night" and yes when we came in the early hours of the morning or I was awake through the night, you would see them out on the streets near the apartments trying to ply their trade with the drunk men but i didn't witness anything untoward. We also saw the "pea-men" and their "stooges" and "lookouts" throughout the day but knew to stay away from them. We watched them from the apartments and watched as their lookouts warned them when the police were in the vicinity so they could pack up and blend into the crowd...didn't actually see many tourists stopping at them if I'm honest. I was aware of the "pick-pocket" culture of any tourist destination so was always aware of where my valuables were.
All in all, a great holiday, great location of apartments and I would definitely return

Room Tip: Try and get one of the higher floors

We stayed here for 4 nights last week. The apartments are excellent, clean and comfortable with decent self catering facilities. They are in an excellent spot, literally in the middle of everywhere you would want to be. There is no air con, but plenty of opening secure windows to let the breeze through. The only downside is the noise. If you want an early night or a decent nights sleep, ear plugs are a MUST!!! Other than that an excellent place to stay and I would stay there again!

Cheap apartments, clean beds in fact clean throughout if not in need of a little upgrade, however we didn't spend much time in the room as it was red hot weather not to be missed. The pool is small but not many people used it anyway so that was good for us. You are right in the centre of the hussle & bustle so if you are expecting some sleep forget it unless you are drunk beyond hearing it every night, even with the windows shut which is difficult as there is no air con. It finally goes quiet around 5am except for weekends. No sun on the lovely large balcony which is a shame. Wi-fi is available but not free
