We booked through a reputable golf company for four nights and three rounds of golf in May. This was my fourth visit and it never dissapoints, the place is so impressive. We arrived late at night but the check in process was quick and easy, our room 233 was spacious and clean. We experienced a rather unpleasant 'drainy' type smell when we first got there but after raising it with reception it was sorted by maintenance very quickly. Breakfast was well presented and there was lots of choice, it's just a shame they've moved it from the lower pool area which was a lovely venue to sit and eat. The golf set up is great, two great challenging courses, it's a shame the bunker sand is so hard on both and tough to get out of. We had a slight problems with buggies on the Levante Course which I had booked through our golf company but each time I asked for our buggies well in advance we were told they could not be booked, only a small grumble and we got them in the end. They should allow you to pre book buggies. The practice range was adequate and the putting areas were great too. Big grumble is that such a busy place there were no refreshment buggies going round the course, we heard a few groups mentioning this. Clubhouse was great and the service was good, nice food and good beer after an enjoyable round. The prices were pretty reasonable too. The main bar near reception had awful lager on draft and the bar prices were double that of the golf clubhouse, because of this we ate at the clubhouse every day regardless of whether we played that day or not. For the price you cannot go wrong, it's all you need in one place. We'll be returning for sure.

this is not an hotel but a complete complex which has been designed to look like a village. the setting is beautiful staff very competent service terrific and they have 4 restaurants to choose from. we used the italian one and the food was really good portions big and prices about what you would expect from a first class place.

breakfast is included in the price and they cater for all tastes...huge range

it is very close to terra mitica and only minutes away from the centre of benidorm.

would go again

Booked a fee days here earlier this Month. Looked great on the Web but the moment I walked in I just knew there wold be problems - and problems there were. Lot's of them.
Upon arrival and having paid £240 per night I don't expect to pay to park. They claim the parking lot is owned by the park or something like that - my answer is to negociate a better deal then! I've even prefer if the hid the price in my room rate!
We stayed at the Level but the service isn't there. Very attractive private room but staff just ignore you. They are supposed to come to the pool (private one) and offer you drinks - didn't happen. A Manager (without our prompting) asked if we were getting offered drinks and despite our response we still didn't get any.
It states "Open" bar for the Level, and depite other Melia hotels providing an "Open" bar in the Level this place does not! Just 1 hr in the evening where you've to help yourself. They really need to provide service!

Some of the Spanish staff lack customer service focus. I found the other Europeans there much better.
The food is on another "Level" (excuse the term), it's terrible! In the buffet it's just horrible. Getting to the food is another hurdle - you've to navigate all the construction.

We stayed one night on the basis we couldn't be bothered going somewhere else, then the following day we checked out early and moved on.

We came here this time last year and enjoyed our stay. This year, however, they have split the hotel into 4 and 5 star sections which we only discovered when we arrived. This has meant that we do not have access to the only heated pool - the key reason for coming back was that I could swim while the guys played golf. The pools in the 4 star area, while very pretty, are freezing cold and while I am a pretty hardy swimmer, there are none that you can swim in - in fact, I'd say around 99.9% of other guests would agree as I saw just one person using them the whole week. Their main pool continues to be refurbished and a lovely outside area where you could have breakfast outside is currently out of use. Even when I asked if I could make use of the heated pool give the others were too cold to use, they were not able to make an exception. No chance to use the spa facilities during the day either - they didn't open until 16.00 during the week and cost 25 euros a time. Only two restaurants open - Italian which is overpriced for the quality of the food and buffet which is good and reasonable at 25 euros a head. All in all a real disappointment having looked forward to returning to what we thought would be as good as last year...a May holiday resort we would have come back to again but, sadly, not now with the changes they've made - The hotel has really let itself down for anyone who comes here and who isn't out all day playing golf. I'm still here for another 3 days and frankly looking forward to going home after what has been a very disappointing time with nothing to do during the day as facilities are virtually non existent

Dear guest,
We deeply regret that you feel your experience this time was being not so good than others before.
The new concept for The Level at Melia Villaitana, includes the exclusivity of some areas of the hotel and we can not do any exceptions.
The main swimming pool of Melia Villaitana is ready to be used, and if this one is a little bit cold depending the season, other option of heated pool is using the spa.
It is our wish that you can trust in us again for other visits, so do not hesitate to contact our Booking Department and they will be happy to offer you our most special rate in The Level for your next stay.
We remain at your disposal,
Sincerely,

Inmaculada Lucas - Guest Experience Manager

We have just returned (4 of us) after a 5 day stay and 4 rounds of golf ( twice on each course).
With handicaps from 9 - 18, first and foremost we were there for the golf, but also the beer, sun and entertainment.
The hotel was excellent, compared to some of the quality ones I have stayed at in Scotland, I would rate it 4+ stars. Rooms are cleaned twice a day, comfy beds and a fridge, no tea or coffee though!
The pools were under repair, but in honesty weather was not good enough to swim out side most days, and we were there for golf. It was disappointing that the adj. spa charged 20 Euro each for a swim , which was a bit of a joke, considering the weather and lack of outside pools. Breakfast was excellent, quality surrounds and a range of food inc.champagne & wine for a reviver!!
The courses themselves were both very good. We managed to change our tee times at the Pro shop each day to mid morning, which suited us after a few late nights in Benidorm .Weather wise we scored every day, but courses difficult especially if you hit the sand,or have a wee hangover!!
The Levante course (Par 72) was excellent, lots of bunkers with not enough sand was the only fault. We walked it with trolleys twice and rounds took 5 - 5.5 hours.
The Poinentie course (Par 62) is a great wee course, with a lot of challenging tee shots around 230 yards. Buggies are inc. and a must. Rounds took 3 - 3.5 hours.
The club house is excellent, views, value and service superb. 3 Euro a pint and 8 Euro a snack good value. Clubs can be stored in the garage below all week and staff friendly and helpful.
We did not eat at the hotel and went into Benidorm each night which is a must!!Taxis 10 - 12 euros each way with everything there from good eating to live entertainment.
We visited the old town and enjoyed tapas. Indian and Italian meals, as well as quaint bars all well priced.
The new town is a must and we had great fun seeing a range of shows from The Jam to The Drifters.
No bother at all anywhere, quite quiet and full of older folk in May.
We will definitely return, as the overall package from Mygolf Travel was well worth it, for a hotel and courses of this class.
Thanks for an excellent trip and some wonderful pictures of what is a fantastic golf resort - mind you we are Jocks and are easily pleased!!

We are here now, the hotel is like a building site. The pools that are in use are freezing. The heated pool is only for those staying in the 5 star. There are far better hotels not far from here. Everything is to expensive. 25 euros to use the spar.

Having just spent our last day in Benidorm playing golf with a bunch of guys, this hotel complex offers two interesting and well maintained (tough) courses for all abilities. The buildings are picturesque but not so well maintained - substantial works rendered the entire breakfast area and large pool wholly unuseable - a great disappointment which the management seemed little to worry about.
Whilst it has a kids club, this also did not appear to open and with an endless supply of Brits Abroad, I'm not sure I would want to subject my children to otherwise a facility scarce environment for them.
On a positive note, the rooms although basic were a reasonable size and clean. The buffet food was acceptable - if somewhat limited and recycling a lot of "left overs".

Room Tip: Use the "five star" accommodation - the other hotel at best is three star.
