“dissapointing apartments in rincon de loix”

I know Benidorm very well after living there for a few years as well as being in the travel industry. The apartments are on a steep hill in the new part of Benidorm ( Levante Beach ). They are very basic indeed and seem to attract groups of yobbos and people who like to spoit the enjoyment of others on holiday. The receptionist although really nice and helpful has a very difficult job keeping the peace and has no help whatsoever from his boss or the agencies which use the apartments. Clean and basic, but don't ask for a low floor or you will end up on the top floor like us, with a closed in balcony, a tv that you have to pay for, no safe deposit box, and threadbear sheets and towels. I certainly would not recommend these apartments to anyone, and most definatley will not be back to them.

I got a really good deal online for this hotel, so wasnt expecting much. When we arrived we had to wait a few hours to get the key to our room, the pool was tiny and freezing. I had my young son with me and there wasnt much for him to do due to the weather. The rooms where really nice with plenty of room. I would go back here but not with children and only if I got it really cheap.

I stayed here for a week and went with a very open mind (expecting the worst) because of the reviews i'd read and was very pleasantly surprised!

Unfortunately due to strikes our bus was late leaving the airport and this meant we missed the guy on reception but theres directions to the hotel where you collect your keys, plus pay phones with all the numbers you could need (we were lazy and took a taxi and were back and in our room in 5 mins literally!) we only had to give a 60euro deposit

our room was on the ninth floor and was spotless, loads of room with 2 single beds in the bedroom and a huge wardrobe, 2 sofas in the living area which would have made another 2 beds if needed. we had 2 balconys which was fab, perfect for gettin your clothes dried if need (clothes horse provided)

having read the reviews we knew that our rooms wouldn't be cleaned for our stay but we did it ourselves, we brought an extra towel each as well as we read that we would need them, we needn't have bothered there was enough towels for both of us for the week.

we had all the cups, cutlery etc we could have needed and again it was all very clean, theres a microwave and toaster and a fridgefreezer. we went to the shop literally round the corner from the hotel and stocked up on loo roll (again no drama if your aware of it as the few rolls provided soon run out)

the location of the hotel was the best bit for us, we could see the beach from our room and although its classed as being on a hill -take it from someone who drives everywhere that is not a hill its a slope. we walked to the beach and shops every day (literally 5 mins from the hotel) we taxied to the bars at nite just because it was dark outside.

the pool was perfectly clean and ideal for an afternoon of catching the sun.

the lights in the stairwell didnt work at night but the lift ones did and we never had any probs as there are only 2 rooms on every floor and you were never far from your room door, not nearly as bad as some of the reviews would have you believe.....

theres a coin operated telly and a great wee oil heater for the cooler nights, plenty of extra bedding and pillows.

i know im making this place sound too good to be true but we're only back a few weeks and will be booking this hotel next time we go to benidorm, the hotel was booked out and the only noise we heard was a baby crying once, perhaps if you are very fussy you could find fault with this hotel but we really couldn't.

These apartments are a week from hell, the balcony door didn't work, some of the windows were half smashed, bathroom mirror all cracked and a safety hazard. Most of the plugs in the walls were hanging loose and sparks came out when used. You don't get a cleaner for your stay and 2 towels there are no bins so we filled rubbish bags and sat them at the side of the balcony so it would be easier for the cleaner. Ever night there was fights in the apartments and there was no staff to intervene as they go home at 8. Our next door neighbours were an old man and woman who we could hear have disgusting sex every night (not good for children). We found a dead mouse under the Spanish sink/toilet they use. Please don't stay here they are in a horrible location and we didn't get our €150 deposit back because it wasn't clean enough even though there are no cleaners.

We stayed in these apartments in September and found it was ok for what we paid ,fair enough the apartments could do with being modernised but you get what you paid for.

Only problem we had was on the last night of our stay we had to be up early for transfer bus for airport and the Irish guests where very noisy when they came in but hey its Benidorm and they was only enjoying themselfs but it didn't seem funny at the time .

my boyfriend and i stayed at these apartments over the christmas period. We had read the reviews so we were prepared for what we would see. The rooms are clean, but they are very old and basic and in some parts in need of repair. The shower wouldn't stay on the wall so we had to hold it and the bath was miniscule. It was very cramped as my fella kept saying it was the only place he'd stayed where he could go to the toilet and be sick in the sink at the same time lol. the beds are 2 singles so we pushed them together only thing was they were on wheels so they kept coming apart. obviously we didn't use the pool because of the time of year but it was small although clean and they had a bar, cafe off it. It is ideal if your the time of person who only wants to use the apartments for sleeping and bathing. I would say that they are more a studio as opposed to self catering as the only thing to cook on was 2 electric hobs and hardly any pans and crockery. They were very cheap. The best thing about these apart ments was that 30 metres from the apartment there was a brilliant english bar called the jukebox that did fantastic home cooked meals at really cheap prices and did a fabulous 3 course xmas day menu for 12.95 euros, they are very welcoming, and show live sports.
