“Great place to stay!”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

Firstly the staff are great very nice and very helpful, the overall place is clean and well maintained. The apartments are very spacious well equipped and very clean huge balcony worth every penny. The pool is lovely and is worth 1.50 euro to keep it looking this tidy also has a tennis court again well maintained. Great for immediate facilities shop on the corner and 2-3 minutes before you reach your first bar place to eat the square is another 5 minutes away. Beach is tops 10. Excellent place to stay brilliant location and amazing value for money.

Checked in 27th September for four nights, very basic, staff friendly, rooms a bit dirty and scolded myself when trying to work the shower as it was coming off the wall, you also have to pay 1.5o euros for a lounger round pool, best for stags and hen parties.

Don't understand all the bad reviews on the Vistamar? Myself and my husband are both in our 50's and stayed for a week 16th Sept 2012! We arrived late at night, there was someone on reception waiting for us, you had to pay £40 or 50 euros but this is stated by the hotel, we paid in pounds, and had no problem whatsoever getting it back at the end of our stay! There were just the two of us and the room has ample space! There is a bedroom, living area, kitchen and bathroom, the balcony runs the length of the apartment with double door access from the bedroom and the living area. We both showered at varying times during the day and never experienced lack of hot water. We saw the maids everyday cleaning different rooms and if you asked them for anything they'd give it to you! It's a good 5 - 10min walk to the beach and not in the best location if you've got any walking difficulties, but it is close to lots of nightlife, but not noisy, except the odd drunk brit going passed singing "viva espana", or the usual banter! You have got to pay 1.50 euro for the sunbeds per day, but if you want to just sit on your towel anywhere it's fine. The good news is there is a shop attatched to the apartments that is very reasonable and you can buy your own food and beer and take it poolside, there's no lifeguard so don't get too drunk and dive in cos no-one will save you? On checking out we weren't able to contact our transfers the british lady on the desk phoned constantly for nearly 24 hrs until she sorted it! We have been going to Benidorm off and on for the past 15 years and stayed at several resorts. It's a basic hotel but it has everything you want on a holiday in my opinion!

Arrvied late at night, the night porter was a very nice man. Room was great, sheets clean. Kitchen was ok. The staff were fantastic Seb and Suzi were just normal people doing a job, I could not have asked for nicer people. Shop next door had every thing I wanted the staff were very friendly. People have complained about being mugged in muggers lane!! Hello look at the name!! Never went there never got mugged!! Only thing I would avoid is sticky Viki well past her sale by date. We arrived on 6th September 2012 after booking a last minute holiday. The staff are lovely and were very friendly and helpful and were more than happy to answer any questions for us.
The apartments were poor standard and were very basic. The beds were uncomfortable and the wall sockets were nearly off the wall. The kitchen was small and you can only fit one person in there. It took us 20 mins to boil the kettle for a drink because it kept switching itself on and off until it got to boiling point, the toaster worked but it was hard to push the button down because it was so stiff. The fridge was very old and dated.
It was very noisy at night, inside and out, which is not the hotels fault but we thought that being away from the town centre we'd avoid this but we didn't and we never had a good nights sleep. The telly was very small and dated and there was a fee of 1€ which was for a continuous 1 and a half hours however they were all Spanish channels except for bbc 1. Our towels were changed once.
The balcony was massive and had 4 chairs and a table. The pool was lovely and clean and the pool area was well kept and looked after.
I would not stay here again and wouldn't recommend anyone else does unless your happy to slum it

Room Tip: Choose a low floor because the lifts are so slow

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 10 nights from the 3rd to the 13th September. We had booked the night before and went the next morning. We had read the reviews and I was worried we were going to have a terrible stay. However, we arrived at our apartments and were surprised. The staff were helpful, we knew about the deposit before arrival, and checked us in quickly. The apartment was basic but quite clean. As people have said before, you get what you pay for. The bed sheets were fresh and clean towels. The kitchen was adequate and the balcony massive. This is a self catering apartment so don't expect maids to come in daily and change sheets for you. Our towels were changed twice and apartment cleaned once in our stay. The pool area is lovely, and paying for the sun beds is probably a good idea as it meant the sun beds were never all taken by 6am. There is a shop next door which is good price wise and stocks most of what you need. We did not come here to stay in the apartment and in the surrounding area there is plenty to do. The beach was surprisingly beautiful, as first timers to Benidorm we thought it was going to be Blackpool in the sun. There is loads of water sports at the beach and even an inflatable assault course! There are boat trips to Benidorm island, and a water park, a sea world, and a theme park. You are certainly not left bored, and my partner was not for lying around so this kept him well entertained. Nightlife around this area is good enough, we liked The Shamrock Bar as they had a brilliant band playing every night. For eating out there is plenty of good places to go. On our last night we went to a Chinese further round the beach, called the Mandarin. For 10 euros each, it was an all you can eat buffet. However the food was not cooked, you chose what you wanted to eat from seafood, chicken, meat even steaks, and then your veg, then took it to the chef who would cook it in front of you! It was excellent. If you are looking for British style food The Magic Roundabout was also very good. If you are looking for luxury, don't come here. However if you are looking for an apartment this is in a good location for everything.

Room Tip: Stay in one of the higher floored rooms
