In a nutshell, it's a two star self catering hotel and with good basic food and friendly staff and a pool. If you go there and expect anything else then don't go! Yes, you have to take out your own rubbish, buy your own toilet roll and clean your own room if necessary and pay for your key deposit of £80 (which is returned at the end of your holiday) but all in all it's cheap (£40 per night for 4 people) and it gets even cheaper as they go into the low season in Benidorm.
Troos and her sister along with Rick and Lisa all contributed to make you feel very welcome, especially Rick with his lovely jugs of Sangria in the afternoon but don't expect to drink two jugs between two and manage to go out in the evening! We didn't manage!
It's central for the beach and the nightlife and on a reasonably quiet street not far from three good pubs nearby, the White Horse, malibu's and the triangle, great if you like loud middle of the road entertainment and reasonably cheap drink.
Food; Scottish and English breakfasts all day long with a varied mix of other dishes made to order from the menu, all substantial, well cooked and enjoyable.
Room; spotless on arrival, if you mess it up you clean it, towels and sheets not changed but presumably available at a price if required. BIG veranda all 36 facing south I think but didn't have my GPS to check not much of a view as the other bigger hotels were in front some of which blocked the sun during the day. Kitchen, well equipped with all the basic amenities, cooker, microwave toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer. Sitting room had a fold out double bed, table, coffee table, four chairs, pay per view TV (1 euro/ one hour) with very limited UK channels (but who wants to watch TV on holiday) loads of space and units to srore clothes etc. Bathroom with bath/shower, b-day, toilet and sink, plenty of boiling hot water as the hot tank was on in the bathroom all the time.
Pool; clean, two sections one, for the kids separated from the main, not built for Olympic swimmers but enough to cool you down after a session in the sun and adequate for floating around. Beds stacked and they ask you to put them back on the stack after use, well, it isn't that much of a hardship, is it? don't bother trying to get your towels out in the morning, they will be removed and besides, there are plenty and if you don't like it, go to the beach!
Handyman on hand most days, repair of anything immediately, by what I saw he keeps the place along with Troos in excellent shape and deals with problems immediately. Don't cross Troos (Dutch), she's been in the trade for many years and can deal with allsorts, so if you give her a big smile and a bag of Scottish tablet she's your friend for life. She has no qualms if you misbehave badly in calling the police or throwing you out, besides, you're there to enjoy youself not to spoil other peoples holidays.
Bar/restaurant; well stocked, big TV (all channels, same as in the sports bars) cheap, 2.5 euros for a can of Guinness, two for one most of the night on local spirits, good measures, chocolate in the fridge, sweets for the kids and spotlessly clean toilets.
Dear me, have I forgot anything? Oh, secure intercom door entry system, good locks on the room doors, two lifts and always a few parking spaces outside the hotel at night and don't throw your tabbies over the balcony, use the ashtrays provided in the room. Hope I haven't missed anything, enjoy you holiday, we did and would go back anytime.
