“another enjoyable visit”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

3rd time at this hotel, food good, was not cold as in other reviews, and if it was not hot enough there was a microwave available. Drinks were reasonable but the under volume spirits left much to be desired. ie vodka 24% as opposed to normal 37% volume as on most popular brands. But hey, a small matter. Bar and restaurant staff very friendly, if you acknowledge them they will reciprocate.
The entertainment crew were without doubt the best we have seen, and so hard working throughout the day and night.Well done team. We were a group of six and will deffo return
Rooms very good and cleaned every day with clean towels etc.

I had a great trip staying here last year, the experience was great, but I was hoping it would be closer to the beach and shops, that was the only fault. The room was great and the food was excellent. I didn't think much of the entertainment. Overall I would stay again but at the price I would prefer a better location. Having stayed at the Rosamar, the meals and the pool are much better but the location makes up for these faults.

My wife and I first discovered the Flamingo Oasis at Easter some ten years ago and have made return visits almost every January since for a winter sunshine break. We have just returned after a week's holiday from 7th to 14th January.
The upgrade for the "Club Rooms" is a must for couples without kids, or those who wish to be away from them, and allows access to the Terrace Bar on the roof which gives sunshine all day and to their own area in the restaurant. It also gives extras of free wi-fi, free safe and branded spirits in the Club Lounge.
As for our visit this year, we found a few changes of which some were better and some not. At this time of year we also miss the early morning "Sunbed Race" as the outdoor pool is closed.
I will try to detail each section.

HOTEL: The main reception and bar has stayed the same over the years, though having a makeover of new tables and chairs in the bar. There is also a separate area here for those who wish to smoke. Near reception is an area with sofas and a Public Lounge with two TV Sets which show either live sports events or the film of the day, this also has area for card or board games. This level has the "Piano Bar" which is adult only and has Pepe on his Keyboard most nights along with a Cabaret Act.
The Club Lounge is on the 24th Floor and is for members only. It has large screen TV and a "Serve Yourself" bar with Premium Spirit and beer brands, along with soft drinks and tea and coffee with snacks at certain points of the day. One of the changes did mean that there was fewer choices of brands of drink.

STAFF: The hotel group must be good employers, though there is a turn over of staff, there is a numberof Bar and Restaurant Staff who have been there as long as we have visited and remember our previous visits. They do work hard and have long shift hours but maintain a pleasant demeanure, with "hola" on passing and an "understanding" on attempts at Spanish language.
The Room-Maids also do an excellent job and keep the rooms clean and stocked with toiletries, all in an inobtrusive manner.

ENTERTAINMENT: The "Animacion" team are an enthusiastic group and seem to enjoy their work. They arrange a variety of activities throughout the day for kids, teens and adults. These cover sporting activities, demonstrations and the afternoon quiz (we will be remembered for winning 6/6 days as "Sagria" with full points).
We cannot comment on the evening entertainment this time as we did not attend any shows because we felt the "Team" shows had not changed and guest artists could be seen in the town, but in talking to others, the shows were good.

RESTAURANT: Another area of reduction. At our first visit, there were five different areas of service along with a carvery, but this has been reduced to three. This has not, though, detracted from the quality of the food nor the service of the staff. The Buffet trays were replaced when necessary and the food was always warm. The Carvery was different each day
as was the main menu. A couple of nights also had a "Theme" and featured particular foods.

OTHER: Benidorm at this time of year is obviously quieter than high summer, but still has enough to keep you busy if you wish or to laze in the winter sunshine by a poolside, with a cocktail to hand. The entertainment at night is in the main Club/Pubs and has the usual mix of "Tribute" Singers/Groups, Comedians and Karaoke.

OVERALL: All in all, another excellent week's holiday and value for money.

Room Tip: If in the "Club Rooms", ask for "Sunny Balcony overlooking the Pool and you can sit o...

This was our 2nd consecutive new year stay at this hotel, also stayed in august last summer. Once again it was brilliant. The weather was gorgeous through the day but a bit chilly on the night. We were a party of 6 staying in 2 rooms. 4 in 1 room which consisted of 2 adults and 2 teenagers and the other room was my mum and dad. My mum is disabled and confined to a wheelchair and I must say there was plenty of room as always, we also asked for rooms next door to each other which we got no problem with a high floor as requested.
Food was always lovely with plenty to choose from. The dining room staff were excellent couldn't fault them, always there to help with a smile. I especially like Augustine he was fab!
The gala dinner was beautiful. The amount of people that complain about the food in the hotel are very picky and I don't know why, pretty pathetic really!!
We didn't stay in the hotel on the night of new year like we did last year. We decided to go to old town where it all happens, the crowds of people were overwhelming all cheering on but absolutely brilliant and so were the fireworks. All in all the holiday was brilliant as was the service of the staff, always happy to help and solve whatever issues people had. But then some people it doesn't matter what you try to do there still aren't happy! The best hotel by far :-)

Room Tip: email the hotel beforehand for any requests you have, as we have always got what we asked for!

having been to the flamingo oasis 5 times ,and wrote a few reviews on it ,I can still say that it is a great hotel to stay in and one of the best in benidorm ,the staff are all wonderful and friendly ,nothing is a problem , the food this time had improved on what it was last year especially the carvery joints ,lamb, pork, beef, gammon and whole salmon all cooked to perfection .The hotel is kept very clean ,the drinks are very good some of the best i've had on an all inclusive holiday and we have been on a lot over the years ,the only problem i had with the hotel this year was the number of british women going to the bar in pajamas through the day and at night sadly this is happening a lot these days ,i think the hotel- hotels abroad should have signs up in public areas stopping it like they are doing back home in the uk from supermarkets and school play grounds ect at last ,any thank you to all the management and staff for another great stay at your lovely hotel and keep the good work up .

Room Tip: higher floors get the sun all day

We are back here for the 3rd time. Must say that I am disappointed that they have made upper floors into club rooms so that not everyone can use the rooftop pool and bar, this set it aside from others.

The food is still ok but we have noticed a general downward slide. The soups are weak and awful.

The staff are generally very helpful especially the bar staff. Unfortunately we had to pay for wifi even in the hotel, another bad move on their part.

Rooms are clean and are okay but again showing signs of wear n tear.

It's great to have drinks in proper glasses instead of plastic glasses and the measures are good,

Overall very good but are slightly sliding down the scale.

First time abroad for New Year wasn't disappointed had a fantastic time in a brilliant hotel.
I went to the flamingo oasis with my wife for New Years week didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised started with a very competent check in originally given a 17th floor room but soon changed to 8th floor with no hassle, rooms decent size with 2 big beds pillows a little lumpy big tv, remote control 12 euros deposit at reception mainly British channels bbc1 itv sky sports 1 and 2 sky news, only disappointment no tea & coffee making facilities, good size bathroom toilet bidet 2sinks & bath with powerful shower always hot water. Lobby bar open all day until midnight, pepe's bar adults with pepe playing the organ dancing and sing alongs open 8pm til 1.30am & flamingo bar downstairs main entertainment bar kids entertainment til 9 then various things like play your cards right ,quizzes & games etc main entertainment starts at 10 o'clock some good some not so good but the animation team try very hard especially dan . All inclusive stops at midnight drinks same in all bars San Miguel lager strongbow cider house brand spirits top shelf brands extra roughly 2-2.5 euros extra ,wine served by the glass or you can have the full bottle.entertainmentduring the day the normal things like table tennis, archery, darts etc plus a good general knowledge quiz everyday at 3 o'clock all done by a very energetic animation team . Restaurant open for breakfast 8 til 10.30 normal bacon sausage fried eggs , cereals fruit juices etc lunch 1 til 3 meat dishes fish dishes curries salads always something even if it's just soup & cheese and biscuits of which there is plenty of choice evening meal as lunchtime a chef cutting the meat of the day eg pork ,belly pork, lamb beef served on a Sunday along with Yorkshire puddings home from home . Snacks served in between meals in restaurant & on an evening til midnight hot dogs ,burgers, fries pasta etc . New Year's Eve was fantastic stared with a make a wish all writing a message and sending them in the air together in helium filled balloons ,gala dinner was superb from a cocktail & sushi before dinner then the main meal choices were ample I had king prawns tiger prawns & red shrimps just for starters delicious 2 bottles of wine on the table 1red1white overall a fabulous meal when leaving restaurant every guest was given a party bag containing party hat ,streamers trumpets etc great entertainment seeing 2new years in 12 o'clock Spanish then the British at 1 o'clock free bar til 3 o'clock in the morning given bottles of champagne free at the bar all night overall we had a fantastic new year at the flamingo oasis thanks to all the staff ,bar staff cleaners and animation team & everyone who works there well done look forward to seeing you again next year Scotty & Tracey the Sunderland supporters
