just stayed at Flamingo Oasis 4th time - last time. Food was not good previously but even worse now. They need to get their act together here. Too many stag and hen parties allowed here now.
Staff at the pool side bar and in the lounge work extremely hard and cannot do enough. Breakfasts poor bacon disgusting fatty, scrambled egg like dishwater. Not enough checks done on ID cards, people round the top pool that have not paid for the extra facilities, but can get their by accessing the stairs. If you want to keep the room on do it through Thomsons 40 euros we made the mistake of booking with hotel 60 euros and you had to vacate by 6pm

Room Tip: club rooms good some could do with updating

We stayed from 9 April for a week. This is our second stay at the Flamingo Oasis. We just wanted a cheap week away, where we could get some sun and just chill. Benidorm met our expectations and the weather was warm and sunny - so no complaints.
What we had to remember that this a huge Hotel that caters for all sorts of different types of holidaymakers. The first part of the week was still in the school Easter holidays, so there were lots of children around. But it is a family Hotel. It was sometimes noisy, the children could be disruptive when left to stay up late into the night and there was quite a lot of bad language being bandied about. The next week older couples were more the “norm”. The Piano Bar caters for adults and provides a bit of peace away from the hurly burly of the main bar.
There were long queues in Reception on arrival but it was a chance to chat to people and we were able to get a drink from the bar while we waited.
The Hotel is about 15 mins walk from the front and we enjoyed walking to the Old Town most days, stopping off at one of the many bars on the way, then meandering back. In the evening, there is a wide choice of tribute artists and you would be hard pressed not to find something you would enjoy, if you wanted to go out of the Hotel.
The room was spotless, the bed comfy and we weren't troubled by a great deal of noise. There was plenty of storage space and being on the corner of the Hotel we got good views of the pool, the sea and the mountains. The TV showed BBC, ITV and Sky Sports. A couple of little gripes - the water pressure was variable so the temperature would go from warm to boiling hot and then to freezing cold. This was particularly annoying when using the shower. The hair dryer would overheat after a very short time and would stop and not restart until it had cooled down.
The food is very British and there is plenty of it. It is slightly better than the average buffet style than some other Hotels we have stayed in. Due to having to provide so much food at a reasonable cost, we thought that there were often cheaper cuts of meat. So avoid the stew type beef, pork and lamb meals if you don't like fat. Because it is all done on such a large scale, it sometimes feels like the ambience is more 3 star than 4 and if you want the feeling of luxury the Flamingo Oasis isn’t for you
Drinks at the bar were plentiful. We enjoyed having Strongbow cider and lager on draft.
The evening entertainment is fantastic and the Entertainment Team work very hard. There was not a snake, bird of prey or contortionist in sight!
All in all, we got what we had gone to Benidorm for and will happily return.

We spent a week here, 8 of us including 4 children aged under 5 youngest been 1.

Fantastic hotel, cant fault it much the only downside for me was no available wi-fi unless you paid to use the hotel computers which was 2e for 30 minutes!

Food was great, we read alot of reviews about it been bland, repetitive, boring.. it was a different story when we arrived, the majority of the food was changed every day the only repetitive things were chips, beans, gravy etc... the desserts were 'different' there were no labels above them to state what they were so it was abit of a guessing game! Lots of salad and fruit available.

Table clearing was very quick, as soon as we had finished they swooped in and cleared empty plates and glasses from the tables.

The drinks, even the kids were served in glasses, which my 2 year old daughter actually knocked of the table and it shattered all over the floor. Was a fairly quick clean up by the staff however she didnt seem impressed to be doing it. They should give the kids in plastic cups, we ended up putting Holli's into her juice bottle to avoid anymore accidents.

the rooms were lovely, slight issues such as damp above the shower, little black dots and things but this didnt bother us. They were cleaned every day to a high standard, they did a really good job.

We were on the 4th floor, getting a lift was an absolute nightmare. They took forever to get to you at one point we were waiting up to 10 minutes for one and when it came it was full anyway. Alot of the time the guys took the stairs because we couldnt fit into the lifts with 2 buggys and 4 kids!

Reception was lovely, always clean, the staff were so helpful and friendly. However, not the same can be said about the thomson staff. They gave us misleading information which gave us a shock when we went out for the day and it was more than they said it would be, we also didnt get the free transport they said was available so we had to get the bus, which wasnt much at all.

We went to mundomar, which was like an animal water park type place, literately 15 minutes up a steep hill and your there. We got a taxi as i doubt the kids would have walked up it, well worth the money to go we saw a sea lion show and a dolphin show which had the opportunity afterwards to get photos with them! unfortunately my daughter wouldn't go near the dolphin so i didnt get a photo, im still gutted now! This was also a very steep place to visit, we were shattered after pushing buggys up the hills! haha.

Terra Natura is also a fantastic place to visit, lots of walking though its huge! a huge range of different animals, there are 2 parts that have the animals open and walking around and there quite big animals like goats, llamas, reindeer's... i didnt like that at all! however everyone else seems to love it.

The beach is about a 10-15 minute walk, you pass loads of shops, cafes, restaurants etc.. on your way down which i think is fab! The sun loungers are about 4e each and parasol is 4e too, once you have paid for them you have them all day. People go round the beach offering drinks etc.. they can be quite pricey at 2e for a can of coke! Id say go over the shop on the beach front, cheaper and more for your money also does amazing slushies! On our last day at the beach sadly it was COVERED in seaweed! They hadnt made an attempt to clear it so we didnt go near the water unless you walked further down the beach and found a clear spot.

The hotel caters for everyone, young, old, couples, families. When we went there were alot of travellers, some people seems to have abit of trouble with them whereas we never had a problem. They were just on holiday like the rest of us. I read a review a few down from this one that says they just left their kids to run around... well they are on holiday, in a family hotel.. why wouldn't they let their kids run round? If my lg was older she could have done but given she is only 2 and first time on holiday i kept her close and in sight.

The kids disco was appalling. If they actually allowed the kids to have a disco instead of playing games which meant pushing them off the stage all the time it would have been more enjoyable.

Never tried the indoor pool, we only spent one day around the pool outside as the weather had been rather chilly. Very cloudy and windy.

check in, can take a while. First you queue to get your room numbers and info then you join another queue to get your all inclusive cards which double as your room key. The family we were with had alot of problems with their cards and in the end only one worked.

All in all, id definitely recommend Flamingo Oasis and we hope to go back!

we stayed at the Flamingo oasis for one week all inclusive. the hotel on arrival was clean and inviting. we were welcomed with drinks and a smile. we queued to get our id cards which gave us access to our rooms and the all inclusive elements. Food was impecable, pool was cold as only early may. rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. Evening entertainment was brilliant and various sports available for both adults and children throughout the day. We did not use the childrens clubs available as our boys age 7 and 9 were happy in the pool and doing the activities available around the pool. we will definately be visiting again next year. only negative was six lifts for 25 floors so some patience needed in waiting for lifts at peak meal times.

Room Tip: we were on the 18th floor and had a lovely pool view and all rooms were the same throughout the hote...

Completely agree with review by landy64 regarding standards, we also found the food to be of poor standard and on one night the carvery was actually "kebab" meat, not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel! The club rooms are still nice to stay in but the food quality is really letting this hotel down now.

was our fave hotel cant believe how much standards have fallen.group of 15 to 20 drunken foul mouth, threatening men in bar our party of 4 pensioners was abused for no reason.
kids running wild, playing football and generally out of control in bar and reception areas.we arrived on Saturday the 11th may and after loads of complaints it took the management until Tuesday night to respond and stop serving this group of morons.
hotel is still clean and the clubrooms where we stayed still excellent.
this was our 8th time at this hotel our last time in May 2012 and the standards of food have not just fallen they have dropped over a cliff.
the only good meat we had was the beef, the rest was mainly fatty pork on the night time carvery the lunch time carvery has now been stopped, most nights, scraps of lamb attached to large bones, tough pork chops and inedible steak and dishes covered in unknown sauce why would they do that???
in the clubroom area of the dining room lots of people complaining .
tables left uncleared, dont blame the staff as they were rushed of their feet
we feel sad that such a great hotel has been allowed to slip so much.
we always recommended this hotel but no more.the fact that
the flamingo was always rated among the top Benidorm hotels by trip advisor but now its down to 29th and probably falling, tells you all you need to know.

i find that my revue for this hotel for this hotel is difficult without sounding snobbish. we paid for upgrade and found it to be value for money. our room was spacious and well appointed. it was kept in an immaculate condition . tea/coffee making facilities coupled with lots of tv english channels made our visit very comfortable. we made regular use of the club facilities which included branded drinks..in contrast we found the lounge with the exception of the piano bar to be full of children all running about and overall a noisy and uncomfortable environment and i am pleased that i could afford to upgrade or my holiday would not have been enjoyable. overall the hotel was kept in a very clean condition and i found the staff to be helpful and courteous. the food was of an acceptable standard with a good choice but the usual buffet problem with some dishes not being properly warmed. i also thought that chips at breakfast took the{ with everything} too far .

Room Tip: if affordable take a club room
