We have just returned from a week in this hotel, the room we were allocated on arrival (301) was the smelliest room ever and got no sun (although the one request we made was for a sunny balcony) every thing in the room reeked of cigarettes yuk. We contacted the concierge and could have changed rooms the next day, however we asked about an upgraded room (The Club) these rooms are between the 20th and 24th floors. The room was fresh, better decor with far superior balcony furniture and superior general fittings also free fridge/water/tea and coffee making/free safety deposit box and access to a computer and being on the higher floors all day sunshine. There is also access to a rooftop solarium and pool, HOWEVER THE YOUNG STAFF IN CHARGE OF THE BAR AREA TREAT IT AS THEIR PERSONAL DISCO!! MUSIC BLASTING FROM THE SPEAKER SYSTEM so no chance for peaceful relaxation, we did complain but to no avail, shame as it spoiled a really nice area. The food quantity /quality and selection was good everything hot and well presented and a good choice. The only criticism on food is - we ordered a packed lunch one day as we had a trip planned. As you can see by the photograph the sandwich can only be described as abysmal obviously put together by a blind person.
The most disappointing aspect of the upgrade was the fact you could not obtain premium drinks at any of the normal bars even though they had the drinks on display (made no sense as your pass was a different colour and easily recognised) Whilst on the subject of drinks the hotel pull a fast one in as much as all the drinks in the Club are not all premium quality only a very limited selection (vodka/gin were premium) but brandy etc were local brands 24% and no liqueurs at all. Bit of a pain when you are in the downstairs bar and you wish to have a decent drink having to take the lift 24 floors to get one!! especially during the evening show. The entertainment is non-stop during the day usual stuff every hour something for everyone, at night the main show bar had a different themed show. some very good entertainers especially the resident guys and gals they worked their little socks off. We have paid good money in London to see shows that did not deliver as much enjoyment. There is also a piano bar with a pianist, although this room is set out like a Doctors waiting room, quite depressing. The staff generally are very friendly and attentive always smiling, apart from the lady in the ‘Doctors waiting room’ The hotel itself is well presented plenty of public areas to sit in, pool area outside (pool was closed) could do with a bit of a spruce up this area, it was of course totally empty as it has no sun in the winter. There is an adults only solarium that gets the sunshine a few hours during the morning. There is an indoor heated pool plus small gym etc, To conclude we enjoyed the week and had a lot of what we came for SUNSHINE!!

This is an excellent hotel. The staff are well trained and friendly. It is also very clean and light and airey. The cooks are magic and the food is excellent with carvery choices at every lunch and dinner (not always meat but poultry and fish as well). There is always a good variety of food to chose from (with veggie options). The reps are top class and also the entertainment staff. We have been here before and it was the same problem with the lifts as last time. People do not know how to use the lifts. There is a sign which says just press ONCE in the direction you want to travel. But of course they don't and the lift doors will keep opening and so they go nowhere. (All 6 lifts work as one). Its really quite simple! The only problem I found this time was that I couldn't get a bottle of water on AI. Its only 2e a bottle from the machine but the juice I like wasn't available this time either it was a horrible squash type (the kind children like). I only like fruit juices so there was nothing for me at all in the evening from the cafe or the entertainments bar (so ended up buying cartons from the supermarket opposite). Just one "britvic" sort of drink would be wonderful. An excellent hotel though and away from the very busy centre - so a good night's sleep.

just got back from another great week in the flamingo oasis, my wife, sister in law ,and i have been three times now and will definitely be back again next year the hotel is great even the food had improved from last year and is excellent ,with plenty of choice the drinks are the best you will get in any all inclusive hotel any were in the world the rooms are cleaned every day towels ect changed ,all of the hotel staff are friendly and polite ,thompsons for some reason or other have about six flights arriving at the same time on Tuesdays so there can be about a 15-25 min Waite to book in but the staff get through it efficiently and even offer drinks over all i cannot fault this hotel it's improved on last year were i thought that the food was not the same but like i said then that could have been due to the recession and cut backs in Spain ,but it is now back to being great and plentiful .if you do pick this hotel and feel like a change and good shows on a night time go across the road to the rock&roll house for a great night or levies ,who used to own the queens in the old town for a great night ,about 100 yds up the road on the left when you come out off the hotel once again congratulations to the manager and all his staff for running a great hotel this is a true review .

Room Tip: all the rooms below the 13th floor have had a make over and are lovely

Hi got back on 15th Jan after a weeks stay at this hotel. We havent been to Benidorm for 4 year and were looking to get away for a cheap week after New Year. Looked at Sharm first but decided against it because of the trouble in Egypt and this came up at £275 each and on checking the weather we decided to go.
Check in was quick, had our picture taken (lovely) for our cards and off we went to our room.
We were on the 13th floor -good for the sun on the balcony most of the day! Rooms are nicely decorated, very big, twin sinks in the huge bathroom. Lots of wardrobe space and a good size flat screen tv on wall with a good choice of english channels. Deposit of 12 euro for remote but you do get that back. Safe was about 3euro per day with a 6 euro deposit that you also got back on return of the magnet. (Having read about a robbery on previous post that is why a safe should always be used) No fridge in standard room which I found a bit odd for a four star hotel and not sure if you can hire one. Summer months I think you would need one to keep your drinks cold! The Club Rooms get all of the above free but I still think the standard rooms should have a free fridge. Bottled water is not included for standard rooms either. Cheap enough to buy though so no big deal.
You could eat from 8 am until midnight every day. The food choice was good, very english from full english breakfast to Roast beef and yorkshire puddings and cake and custard. There was also continental dishes to choose from and theme nights.
We are not big drinkers but there seemed to be a good selection of alcohol to choose from and we noticed you could get a Bottle of wine not just a glass. Stongbow cider was on draught and a nightly cocktail.
The entertainment was hit and miss but there was plenty going on and always something to watch at night either performed by the resident entertainment team who work very hard and seem like a lovely group of people and the hotel also brought in outside acts that perform in the bars and clubs in benidorm. We noticed the kids club was still running in winter even though there was only a handful of kids which I thought was very good as a lot of hotels only run them in the summer months.
There is a piano bar that was very popular at night, 2 tv areas which showed the channels you could get in your room and a film was shown every day at 6pm. Internet was available but you had to use the hotel computers. Again Club rooms had free wifi but standard rooms and communal areas didnt get it even if you had been willing to pay like we were. We could pick up the melia signal and the gemelos 22 but obviously didnt have there password.
(the hotel has stripped the hotel of little extras you normally receive in a 4 star hotel to charge extra for the club rooms)!
Benidorm itself was warm in the sun but freezing in the shade and it was still 4 euro each to hire a sunbed on the beach which I thought a bit steep in the winter. There was nowhere to sit at the hotel outside as the whole area is in shade so meant we had to go out everyday if we wanted the sun although it was warm enough on our balcony after 1pm.
To sum it up we would definately return to this hotel in the summer months but we wont be back to benidorm in the winter- Not hot enough for us and, the majority of clients were elderly and can understand why they all come in winter but I think we will leave the winter months for another 20 year or so. Fault of ours though and Im not calling the elderly....in fact most were very friendly and liked to have a good time. Majority of staff are lovely only a couple of miserys in the restaurant.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor so that you get the sun on you balcony especially in the winter months.

I have recently returned from a holiday at this hotel. This was my 14th time there. On the second night my room and three others were entered and various belongings stolen. Watches, jewellery, mobile phone. cosmetics and hand luggage and items of clothing, etc. The doors have electronic locks and had not been forced.
When I went to report it to the manager Mr. Argon, he said that under the circumstances they may be prepared to consider compensation. He told us we would have to get a police report for the hotel and First Choice holidays. Thinking that the police would be coming to the hotel we left his office.
Later that day my wife and I met two brothers who had also been robbed. They asked if we had been to the Police Station. When we asked why we had to go to the police they said manage ment had told them that was the procedure. When we asked at Reception they gave us a phone number and told us to phone and arrange to go there. After an hour on the phone we were told to come next day when an interpreter would be present. Next day we had to get a taxi to the police station as no buses go there. We had to pay for this ourselves.
On returning to the hotel we gave them a copy of the robbery at their hotel!!
The day before we returned home the rep. asked at reception about the possible compensation offer. The manager sent the receptionest to tell us that as a police enquiry was ongoing just to claim our insurance.
Considering this was a robbery at their hotel, they did nothing to assist us in any way.
I sent a letter to them asking how the police enquiry was going-----its still ongoing.
So if you are thinking of going to this hotel make sure you have holiday insurance
I certainly won't be back.

Dear Mr Wright Wishaw
We are extremely sorry about your unfortunate experience during your recent stay with us at the Hotel Flamingo Oasis.
We can assure you that this is certainly not normal at our hotel. As you are aware we have a high security presence and take the safety and security of our guests very seriously.
In spite of the fact that we have not experienced this type of incident previously, we always recommend that our guests make use of the safety deposit facilities in order to protect their valuables.
The incident was reported to the police by the hotel, and the police advised that it would be necessary for you to make a report at the police station. As you mentioned there was no sign of forced entry, however, we have complete confidence in our staff and the police continue to investigate the situation.
Sr Menendez and his team are always very keen to ensure complete customer satisfaction and holiday enjoyment at all times, and although we can understand, of course, the impact that this incident had on your overall holiday enjoyment, we are very sorry that after having stayed with us 14 times, you feel that our staff and the manager were not supportive.

We've just returned form our holiday, and I have to say that this hotel far exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly, so helpful if you asked any questions. Thompson team were amazing really knowledgeable and an unfailing support for our holiday. My husband is disabled, and the staff went out of their way to assist and aid him to enjoy his holiday. My group consisted of my husband 66 and myself 57 and my daughter, her husband and their 5 year old daughter. we all enjoyed ourselves. the entertainment covered all age groups. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the entertainment was brilliant, and the food was varied and tasty. A five star experience recommended to everyone who wants to have an exceptional holiday stress free.

Room Tip: go for a low floor if you can, but every room is wonderful

Travelling as a group of girls we had a room for five. One single, one double and two sofa beds. There was enough room for everyone to get ready. Twin sinks in the bathroom. Food was great. Lots of choice and in good supply. Bonus of draught Strongbow in the AI. The downside would be the mad race for sunbeds. People are like animals racing for them! This is due to the sun only hitting certain areas through the day. The pool isn't quite big enough when teenagers are running around with water guns.
All in all a good base with good food
