Hotel Flamingo Oasis
Ranked #52 of 192 Hotels in Benidorm
Reviewed November 6, 2012 via mobile

Went with my husband and three children
Hotel staff are rude / reception staff told me to go away when I was asking for help. Waitress and bar staff r also very rude!
Guests r also rude, don't expect to be able to get a push chair round the pool if u have a small child - sunbeds r so close together and heaven forbid people may have to move and let u passed (that's if ur lucky enough to get a sunbed) grown men hide in the bush's and physically push each other out the way when there all run to fight over sunbeds - search for the flamingo oasis sunbed run on you tube. Not my idea of a holiday!
Also 20+ floors with only two lifts, so expect long ques at meal times ect and yet again more guests arguing and pushing to get in the lifts.
Food was ok but same every day, nothing to get excited about.
I will not be returning in a hurry, infact I'd prefer to stay at home!

We are very sorry to hear that you were less than satisfied with your recent stay at the Hotel Flamingo Oasis.
The Hotel Flamingo Oasis has been a firm favorite with many of our guests since it opened, due to the standards and service offered. We are sorry that you do not share the opinion of the majority of our guests.
The Hotel Manager is keen to ensure that any issues our guests experience are addressed whilst they are still in the hotel, in order to try to achieve our objective of offering the very best holiday experience possible. It appears that this was not possible in this case.

Having just returned from a week stay at the Flamingo Oasis thought I should write an honest review. The hotel is fantastic in all areas. The food was excellent always piping hot. The wine and beer and spirits were really good quality too. Staff extremely friendly at all times. Rooms immaculately clean and very spacious. Entertainment really good too. All in all an excellent holiday and we will be returning in the near future. Yes the pool is shaded and you chase the sun when it's output e beach is down the road and very clean. X

06.11.12 - just come back today from a weeks hols with my husband and 15 year old son. The hotel staff excellent, smiley faces etc. Luckily we had 4 good sunny days out of 7 so not too bad for this time of year. We stayed on the 2nd floor which was quite noisy at night at times with other residents and their younger siblings. The only faults we had with the hotel was that we thought there was not enough "sofa's" to sit on in the "open plan" area and also this time of year the pool area did not have much sunshine - due to the sun being low this time of year and the sky scraper hotels nearby which blocked it out. Infact nobody was around the pool throughout our stay for this reason and probably went to the beach as we did.(beach 15 mins walk from hotel) Overall we had a great holiday and would go back there again but not in the high season as I think it would be too overcrowded with limited "seating" and pool area being small for the size of the hotel. Hope this is helpful information.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 2nd floor, room 202. The balcony hardly got any sunshine on it apart from 2 hours...

As 3 sisters, we returned to Benidorm after 40 years.

Wow, when we last went there were very few hotels and the place was a big building site, now there is hardly any space left to build on.

This hotel is clearly popular and almost a whole coachload were dropped of with us. Considering the number, check in was pretty well managed. Yes we had to queue, but everything went quickly. We liked the idea of photo ID cards rather than wearing the wretched wristbands that the majority of all inclusive holidays supply.

We had to wait for our room, and sat in the main bar area trying out the booze and watching the in house animation team at work.

We didnt have any problem with the drinks available although we did overhear people complaining about the strength of the local spirits. The house red was very drinkable, we tried the rose and white but didnt like this much so stuck with the red.

We ordered a fridge for the room at a small charge per day..... DON'T BOTHER. It was useless, very small and was barely cold. As we were celebrating a birthday we had purchased some champagne and wanted to chill it. We ended up buying a plastic bucket and a bag of ice from the supermarket.

The food was great, never let down. We never had to wait long for a table and as others have said, even when the bar was busy, you never had to wait long. With 3 of us it was a bit of a problem as at least 2 of us had to go to the bar at a time as you can only get 2 drinks (unless you get a bottle of wine of course).

The location was good and wasnt too far a walk to the beach, which we went to daily.

The beach was our favoured option because the pool is in shade most of the day due to the high rise buildings. The sunniest area was by the childrens play area and was full very early in the day. We found the roof terrace which is a sun trap but again only for a certain amount of time for the same reasons earlier. There are showers there and beds with shower on them (2) which were great fun.

We went into the old town to celebrate the birthday and went to Queens for a fantastic meal and very amusing cabaret (hence the name) and my favourite venue was the majorca palace( review seperately)
The place was very clean and room was cleaned daily. I drew the short straw and slept on the couch bed. This was comfortable as I like a firm bed, but I did manage to dent my skull on my forehead turning over in bed and bashing my head on the corner of the wooden arm. Beware if you have youngsters as they could do themselves some serious damage.

The prices were pretty standard everywhere. When on the beach, we went to an area which was near a supermarket and a bar where they made delicious mojitos. Our daily treat on leaving the beach. We found some great wine at 1.10 euro....yes 1.10 euro. Washed down with a litte water wonderful. The sea was warmish and lots of fish to sea. We took some bread to feed them but they ended up nibbling our legs, a very weird experience.

All in all a very good trip and as we got a good deal from Thompson good value for money. Would we go again....no, but only because the place is huge and we prefer smaller venues.

Room Tip: if you can, upgrade to the higher rooms for a surcharge. everyone who had said it was worth it.

We went there Nov/Dec 2011 shortly after my father died for a 2 week holiday, the weather was not too clever cool and cloudy with a bit of rain which didnt help matters so a lot of the time we was inside-the pool was closed and in the shade most of the day, the indoor pool was too small and too deep for small children (i think about 4` min) they had bingo and a quiz in the afternoon and eve entertainment from about 9pm -too late for our boys 4 and 6, and a kids club for a couple of hours but that was it.One of our boys got stuck in the lift as the sensor to open/close the door is at knee height not like ours so i couldnt open the door in time for him to get out-went to the 9th floor on his own,he was scared stiff-so watch your kids......The reception staff blew hot and cold-more like office staff just doing their own thing,Good points- the Thomson reps were fantastic, friendly and very helpful, the food was excellent always a fantastic varied choice, restaurant clean and tidy as was the whole hotel-ALL the time,24hr reception and security man was great and felt safer, not that the area was bad just with 2 little boys it made things easier. The room was cleaned regularly and was spacious, had a nice pool view which meant some afternoon sun-needed it as it got cool in the pm and nights. Was all inc so only ate out twice on the beach front but was told some good restaurants on the other side of the road.On the whole we enjoyed it (first holiday for the boys)excellent hotel but weather let us down and we all like the sun-especially as we dont get it in England.lol.It was a nice break after my loss. ps go to the Circus up the road and the zoo, dolphin show excellent.

Room Tip: Pool view in Nov/Dec get some afternoon sun but watch the cleaners they close the blinds and block i...

Having stayed here in 2009 we returned for another visit. Still nice and clean we were on the 19th floor so our room had not been renovated. Our friends were on the 10th floor, which had been renovated, but in comparison our room was much more homely and the beds were definitely more comfortable. The renovated rooms are very clinical in our opinion. Yes we did have to wait on the odd occasion for a lift but found we had the advantage being on the 19th floor when going down. As mentioned in previous reports there was some sickness bug going around but we just made sure we were extra careful, and were not affected. The food is very good only comment would be that it would be nice to have a wider selection of fresh fruit for breakfast. The staff we found were all very helpful. Beach was a 10 - 15 minute walk away but plenty of shops on way. Would recommend going to John and Joseph's if you fancy a change of venue for evening meal. Excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Higher floor meant sun on balcony all day. Better view and easier to get lift.
