“Good apartments, clean, spacious well equipped. What more could you want?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2010

We have 2 boys aged 15 and 6 and we all enjoyed staying at Terralta.
The apartments are spotless and serviced every other day. We had 3 changes of sheets while we were there too. Beds were quite comfortable, as someone else said there was a plastic undersheet which was noisy and uncomfortable but if you take it off the maids don't bother to put it back on again so problem solved. Boys found the sofa beds comfortable too and the black out curtains in lounge and bedroom were brilliant. Apartments are very well equipped.
Air conditioning is great, i don't know how anyone could cope without it. It does go off at 3pm for an hour or so (maybe they think most people are out at that time of the day?) However if you want it switched on again just ask as its no problem. You only get one key card on check in but if you want to leave your air con on all day ask reception for a 2nd key and leave it in the slot then your room is lovely and cool to come back to. The cleaner tends to take the extra key out if she comes in when you aren't there - happened to us twice but just get another from reception.
Shop is good too - has everything you could need and although a little dearer not too bad.(9am - 1pm 2pm - 7pm). We arrived in the evening so i emailed the hotel in advance and asked for some shopping to be left in our apartment, then we just paid on arrival. We got travellers cheques changed at hotel reception and although you might lose a little it was worth it not to carry passport around. We hired a safe for the 2 weeks (think it was 34 euros, you get 6 back when you return the key) well worth it.
Good facilities on site, sunbeds are a problem there are never enough for everyone. We spent the 1st 2 days on whicker chairs as we don't agree with putting towels down, management made a half hearted attempt to remove towels a couple of mornings but it was pretty hopeless, they just need more beds. Pools are excellent, the main pool was very safe for children. Also an excellent games room with pool tables, air hockey, basketball etc.
Happy hour is from 9 to 10.30 (buy one get one free) - we went out for dinner most nights and got back before it finished. The entertainment is a bit lacking. The entertainment lady (yes only one) does her best, quizzes, bingo etc and she does water polo and aerobics during the day. Think she needs a bigger budget(!) but if it's entertainment you're looking for then you wouldn't be staying in with whats on offer in Benidorm.
We'd never been to Benidorm before, we just needed somewhere relaxing for a couple of weeks. We never got further than the centre of Benidorm. Some great restaurants Shanghai Chinese (keep going down the hill past the 1st set of traffic lights and and the 2nd set the chinese is on the opposite corner. Excellent food and very cheap. Yorkshire Pride in the centre of benidorm is excellent too especially if you were craving meat and 2 veg as we were 1 day - again good food very reasonable (catch the no8 bus outside the apartments stay on the end and you are in the centre of Benidorm - Yorkshire Pride is less than 5 minutes walk).
We would go back to Terralta, location would not put us off, the hill is do-able!
ps we asked for a quiet room and got the last room on the last block overlooking the adult pool - perfect!

Just returned from a two week break at the terralta. For families with young kids there are some good points,in the kitchen of your apartment there is a good size fridge freezer we stocked ours with ice lollys,tip-tops,small bottles of water topped up with diluting juice bought from the supermarket situated at the bottom of the hill, when it got hot just nipped up to room and returned back with the goodies(saved us a fortune). We found the staff friendly and helpful ,also there is a great pool with a lifeguard on duty from 10am-6pm, however large inflatables are banned from the pool. supermarket on site reasonably priced but limited stock. The only bad point was the location of the apartments a 15 minute walk downhill to get to a british bar (coach and horses) . Nice bar, good food, good prices, worth a try.Sherrys bar up near the church, the food is really good and well priced. After a few beers going back up the hill to the apartments took a lot longer than 15mins.All in all we had a great time in benidorm and came home a lot fitter thanks to that bl--dy hill.

stayed for a fortnight , 1st week ok loads of room round pool , 2nd week ambushed by loudmouth familys who thought they owned the place and let there kids do 1 of 2 things sit on internet stations all night or run around being a pain in the neck!! staff were miserable most of time in reception and the bar , and barstaff were never in a rush to serve you. i didnt find the walk into old town to be as bad as some reviewers make out we were strolling down there and taxi back at end of night , even walked into strip couple times and we aint the fittest people so give it a try . hotel itself was clean and tidy and found the little shop on site very handy as nowhere near by and stocked pretty much all your needs as fair prices , especially the fresh baguettes ! prices at bar were very resonable and was brilliant sized bar, pool and poolside area was lovely too apart from irish getting towels down german-style ! id say was nice hotel and ideal short break but wouldnt stay again for 2 week holiday . also beds were awful , plastic sheets so good nights sleep not always guarenteed !!!!1

OK Lets start with the bad points- myself and my partner do not have kids so our first room was not ideal as it looked onto the pool and entertainment, well if you call entertainment listening to kids kareoke every night and the one kids entertainer screaming down a mic till 12am. Sorry, not for us and we moved rooms to overlook the adult pool, alot quieter.
The Adult Only pool is not Adult Only and you will see kids in there belting their footballs around all day and even when reported to reception they go and tell them to get out then another lot turn up the next day, ok if you like kids in your face all day, WE DONT , and it is supposed to be an adult only area.
The hill is not a big deal really and we managed quite alot up and down it, our tip is that you use the taxi rank at the port area of old town nearnthe fountain, we did this even if we went to the new town, just walk to the rank and its between 5 and 6 euros to the hotel.

Good points
The appartments are fab, great air con, 40 degrees every day when we were there. They are clean and well equipped and spacious it is just the location that lets it down but we met people who go year after year. The main pool is great, safe if you do have kids, the adult pool would be great if it was kept as an adults only like it is supposed to be!! The grassed area outside of the adult pool is lovely for quiet sunbathing too.

All in all if the weather is hot im happy and it was very hot, i wouldnt go back to Benidorm as i found it a bit low class and smelly and dirty but the beach is gorgeous and we ate out every night, Michaels Restaurant is great, Paneils is good, Sherrys is good and the chinese near the fountain on the front near the taxi rank is fablous and soooo cheap. Bendorm is as cheap or as expensive as you make it and caters for all tastes but our next holiday will be an Adult only Hotel somewhere a bit more upmarket.

Stayed at this hotel from June 25th- July 9th! What can i say amazing, Went with 3 others aged 21-25. We had room 2001 which is over looking the pool room was lovely, cleaners came in every other day to change towels etc. Had everything you need- freezer, fridge, hairdryer etc. Sunbeds were uncomfortable but just get a blue sponge from reception they are alot better then. The shop in the hotel is good but quite expensive so visit the supermarket at the bottom of the hill. The hotel has a games room which has table tennis, pool, arcade everything you could think of so that should keep kids enntertained all day! Never stayed in the hotel at night always went out to the strip however i believe their is stuff going on all day. At reception they tell you to catch the number 8 bus which only runs every half hour but does not drop you right in the bars and clubs etc,If you walk down the hill (which really is not bad i dont know what people are moaning about ) and opposite the supermarket is a road which is on a sligt incline there is a bus stop there, Jump on the number 12 which are every 10minutes and this takes you right up to the other end of levante beach, all journeys are 1,25 so bargain! Got taxi back to hotel every night do not pay no more than 9euros. Aqualandia is a must when you are there, did mundomar aswel but not that impressed with that, Restaurants to eat out are - Yorkshire Pride & John and Josephs. Worst places - The winning Blend: Staff are vile and food came out burnt do not go there!! Best caberet clubs- Stardust : Tony Scott is a must watch and Valentines which is where they have Morpheus the hypnotist again a must watch, Worst Caberet bar: Rockafella : Vile rude staff and the acts are rubbish too i.e Danny Downing, do not waste your time!! All in all benidorm is a fantastic place to visit, Would defo 100% stay at this hotel again, great value for money clean friendly what more do you want! Cannot fault them for anything!!! Have stayed in 7hotels in benidorm and this is by far the best!! See you soon Terralta.

Really nice apartments- clean & spacious with a large pool area. Old town and Poniente beach were lovely- not many UK people about it, mostly Spanish people who seemed to be on holiday, although at night my husband & I sometimes felt a bit like they didn't really want us 'down their end'- maybe thats just the Spanish way or maybe they'd rather we stay down the tacky English end of Levante! Some nice shops in Old Town. But Benidorm in general was spot on for a basic sun holiday at a price which was good value. Beaches, weather, pavement cafes & Terralta were great but in our opionion food in general & New Town weren't great. Found a brilliant Chinese restaurant in Old Town across road form the big kids statue- thing
