Stayed in the hotel with mum and dad for the New Year, totally brilliant room and even had that extra space for myself. Room kept really clean. The hotel staff speak very good English and are really helpful, in fact there was nothing more they could not do to help our stay more wonderful than what it was. The dining room is really nice the choice of food is apt to the amount of guests and nationalities ..honest there is alway a bit a good grub for the tummy to keep you going. There is a good lounge area to chill out if you want. The hotel is perfectly situated in the old town with only 5 minutes away from the shops, and resturants and tappas bars, although the new town is only walking disatance for some it may be best to hop on the bus at only 1.20 euro each or a taxi. Booked up again to go in the New Year its well worth a stay

Have just got back from a realy good weeks holiday at Best Western Victoria Hotel, Benidorm, we were delighted with the hotel, the rooms were a good size, spotlessly clean, with maid service every day. The public areas were clean, the reception staff were helpful and courteous, the restaurant was lovely, with really helpfull staff, wine was of good standard at reasonable prices, and the food was brilliant - always plenty of variety, cooked food was hot, and the salads were crisp and tasty. There is a first class fitness centre, and a small swimming pool, which was covered up, but we were told if we wanted to use it they would take the covers off. It is in an ideal place for both the old and new towns, and easy walk to the beach. I cannot find anything to fault this hotel, and will be going back next year and taking my family with me.

The Victoria wasnt as nice as we expected, although there was nothing at all drastically wrong with it. The staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English. The location is ideal, a short stroll into both old and new towns, and far enough away not to be rowdy at night! Have to say we booked half board, but after one breakfast in the hotel we ate out for the rest of our stay, the Pasty Shop just around the corner do fabulous sandwiches for just 3 euros. Nothing really wrong with the breakfast as such, just us being a bit fussy probably!! The rooms were OK, a bit dated, but there was obviously refurbishment going on because 2 days into our 4 day stay banging started in the room next door and went on..and on...and on....and on!!! If we'd been there for any longer we would have asked to move rooms. The reception area was very impressive and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The lifts were absolutely awful!!! Fortunately we were only on the 4th floor so we used the stairs all the time as we got totally fed up of waiting for lifts that never arrived. At least we walked the Pasty Shop sarnies off though!! All in all, the Victoria was OK and we'd probably stay there again if the Princesa wasnt available.

I stayed at this hotel as a single traveller in a double room for 10 nights on full board early November, 2008. The public areas of the hotel are really smart and the decor in the room is more than acceptable. See attached pictures. The reception staff were effiecient and professional - a few more smiles would have been nice though. The food in the restaurant was of the usual Spanish quality - lots of choice and acceptable - not 'haute cuisine' but plentiful and filling - as you would accept for the price. There was wifi in the room - a charge of 5 euro a day but it only worked for a few days of my stay. The charge for the safe was 1.5 euro a day. I flew to Alicante with Easyjet and my transfers were with Shuttle Direct which were excellent. I payed £37.50 a night at this Hotel through Travelrepublic. The location of this Hotel is excellent - not too far away from the beach and close to the Old Town. There is alaso a Zara close by which was a great bonus for me. In my opinion this is one of the best hotels in Benidorm - go for it.

Have just returned from two weeks at the Hotel Victoria. We had a large room on the top floor with fabulous views over Benidorm.
The location is fantastic 5mins walk to the beach and 5 mins walk to the old town. The hotel was smart but quite understated, very clean and in good repair. When we were there it seemed to be mainly occupied by Spaniards, but I believe more Brits start arriving in the winter. If you want to be entertained in the evenings this is not the hotel for you, the Hotel does have a lovely bar and the happy between 8.30 and 9.30 is very popular.
The Pool area is quite small but adequate - but remember your only 5 mins from the beach. We were half board (you can have either lunch or dinner) and it was fine if a bit boring - we missed a few days and went to the local excellent restaurants.
My only criticisim is the reception staff - who were not as welcoming as one would expect - they obviously moonlight as doctors receptionists in their spare time !
I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone.

Just arrived back after a nice weeks break in Benidorm. Position of the hotel was very good within easy walking distance to both the beach and to the old town cenre. Reception staff were polite enough but made very little effort to make you feel welcome. There was no one to assist with luggage and only one person was at the desk, even though they knew customers were arriving.
Our room was large and comfortable and appeared clean, however, there was a terrible smell of sewerage seeping from the drains and ending up in the bathroom. Basically, our room smelt like a toilet. To be fair, during my stay, I enquired if any other guests had experienced the same and it seems that we had just been unlucky. Nevertheless it wasn't very nice.
The dining room was very good. Food was varied and plenty. It may not always have been cooked to the highest standards but there was always something for everyone. No complaints at all.
The pool area however was the opposite. The beds were old and dirty. There was nowhere to rest a drink or your belongings, saying that, the bar didn't open until 11.00 and when it did you were charged expensive drinks without any service whatsoever. You don't mind paying that little bit more if you get good service but the same barman was consistantly miserable and consistantly served poor quality drinks.
The pool was falling to pieces, literally. Tiles had fallen off. Mold and meldew was apparent plus there was 4-5" of grime around the top. A filthy dirty pond, not a pool.
I speak fluent Italian, a smuttering of Spanish but still had trouble in making myself understood. If I can make the effort of trying to communicate then so should they but this was rarely the case. I asked the reception for recommendations but they always seemed reluctant to help. I enquired where I could get a memorable meal and no one was able to suggest a restaurant. Luckily I found one(Kataria Gastronomica) but no thanks to the hotel. Maybe because the fantastic Kataria is part of the fantastic Hotel Belroy, a proper four star hotel.
To summarise, The Best Western Victoria, in my opinion is a very very tired 4 star that doesn't deserve its rating. It is lacking the finesse expected and I would certainly consider other hotels before returning to this one.
