In the heart of Levante, opposite the rocking Red Dog you couldn't ask for a better location. British square is two minutes walk and the beach about five minutes, what more could you need?
The rooms are basic but clean, with fresh towels every day. Only niggle is the pillows aren't the most comfortable.
We fell lucky with the noise issue some people have mentioned - there was a group of loud girls in on the day we arrived so the first night we didn't sleep so well, but they left the next day and to be fair we got into our stride then and we were the ones rolling in at 3 or 4 am (hopefully we weren't too noisy!) so we had a fairly decent week. Could see how some people may find cause for complaint though if there is a large stag or hen party in.
Reception staff were very friendly and welcoming even when you do come staggering in at some ungodly hour!
We only used the hotel as a place to sleep so can't comment on other facilities or food available - we didn't make breakfast funnily enough!
All in all this hotel served us well but unless you are part of a party group, you would be taking a chance on the noise levels during the night, for that reason we probably wouldn't stay there again.

Having read previous reviews about this hotel, I was a little apprehensive. Too often in the past things have been billed up only for me to be a little disappointed on actually seeing it for myself. Beleive me this is not one of those places, previous reviews were spot on, this is almost as good as it gets (if this style of holiday suits you). First things first, this hotel is not big by benidorm standards so lacks the facilities of other large hotels (restaurant, spa or gym), but it doesn't matter. What does matter is the hotel is spotlessly clean, is staffed by some of the most friendly people in the hotel buisness ( special mention to Alex on evening reception, could't be more helpful) and as its a bed and breakfast only is rerlatively inexpensive. I am not going to go over all the other reviews as they're correct, the maids are great, the breakfast is good and it is the best power shower I have ever had in Spain. This is a perla of a hotel.
However, there is one tiny fly in the ointment and this is not the hotels fault, Due to the fact the hotel is reasonably priced and due to the fact its so close to the main streets of night clubs and bars, it can get a little noisy ( top tip ask for a room facing the pool, slightly quieter). The worst of the noise is provided by the early morning return of the large groups of stag/ hen parties that use this hotel. But even this does not spoil this hotel.
To summarise if you want a reasonably priced hotel in a central location with great staff you couldn't do much better than the Perla.

Im just back from Hotel Perla and i must say it is the best hotel i've ever stayed in.As i have been to Benidorm over ten times, this time i wanted to stay right on the square so i did.La Perla is next to everything. It is right opposite Red Dog and basically next door to Cafe Benidorm:)The hotel room is big and spacious for 2 people.Wide screen tv with English channels, twin beds, bath with shower, big balcony and also a huge mirror so you dont have to wait doing your hair...the two of you can do it at the same time:)Maid service is everyday and they give you clean towels everyday even if you dont want them.Maids are also very friendly unlike some in other hotels. The staff are really nice, always smiling especially the lady on reception always happy to help.Manuel that works on the bar downstair is also very friendly and the lady on the upstair bar is friendly too.In the restaurant..well its really the bar downstair has all hot and cold food.Help yourself. It goes from bacon and eggs to cakes and bagels. The snacks in the afternoon are also cheap from the bar. There are hardly any sunloungers but i must admit i didnt have to rush down to get one as there was always plenty empty ones. All in all i will defo return to Hotel Perla as everything is right on your doorstep.
