just returned from a weeks holiday in the hotel Helios with a party of 8 adults ages ranging from 30 to 70's . we have stayed in this hotel before , we found the rooms very clean and airy with a lovely walk in shower and the pool area has improved 100% with a lovely walkin pool that is heated. All staff in the hotel where very helpful and approachable ,we do have one complaint the tables in the restaurant are to close together making it difficult getting in our out

Thank you for taking the time to share your holiday experience.

We are pleased to see that you chose to return to the Hotel Helios and noticed the changes made to the swimming pool last year, which is currently heated at aprox. 26ºC. This makes it perfect to swim even in the winter months.

We hope to welcome you back again in the near future.

Kind Regards,

Jason McKerrell,

We visited this hotel on 18 th October 2013, The hotel was lovely, large rooms and shower but no bath, hair dryer but a charge for fridge in room, friendly staff, excellent pool, heated and shallow, great for children, quiet hotel , not noisy on a night the only down fall was the food, not much choice, and often cold, luggage and courtesy room provided which was good.

Returned from the hotel Helios yesterday. The hotel was full, & this is set to continue for the next month or more.
We arrived too late for lunch after a delay at Leeds Bradford airport, Angela on reception said that if we had phoned she would have arranged for some food for us. It was great too have the friendly welcome, despite Angela being very busy. All the reception staff are helpful, & will take tie to answer any queries. Usually acknowledge you when you pass by.
The dining room staff seem to be short handed these days, unless they had staff on holiday, they were constantly on the go. The catering staff are constantly cooking & refilling the server. There should be something for most people to eat. The only problem is you are a vegetarian, but I think they will cater for diets if they are aware.
The rooms are a generous size, adequate furnishings, decent beds, extra pillows if required. The chamber maids, visit & clean every day, & each time we have stayed they have always been very pleasant.
The pool area is well cared for, & cleaned every morning, but like most hotels, guests will reserve the beds in the area they want. Enjoyed watching the Aqua aerobics on a morning, with all ages participating. The lifeguard is always helpful with children & disabled guests.
Wish I could have stayed longer, but will return in March.
Thank you all at the hotel Helios.

Thank you for taking the time to share your holiday experience.

We are pleased to see that you enjoyed your stay at the Hotel.

The restaurant can seem a lot busier at peak times when the most guests are in the dining room at once such as the second hour of breakfast service and the first hour of the evening service.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Hotel Helios in March, 2014.

We stayed here for 11 nights from the 8th of October. We arrived just after 10pm. We were checked in within minutes by a very helpful gentleman and given a picnic box they had prepared for us as we had missed dinner, brilliant. We travelled with our 20 month old twins and thought we might have a bit of a squeeze in the room with 2 cots. How wrong we were, the room had a double bed, single bed, 2 cots and massive wardrobe and a dressing table and there was loads of space. We were delighted to have the extra bed as well as the twins were a bit unsettled the first few nights and slept in the double bed with one of us and the other had the single bed. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was big with a big walk in shower which was nice and powerful. There was enough storage space to unpack everyone's clothes and the safe is a good size for all your valuables (my kindle fitted in no problem as well). The tv had some English channels but we didn't watch much tv. We had a 2nd floor room overlooking the pool and i can say we never heard any noise from the downstairs bar or pool area when the doors where shut. The air con worked very well and kept the room nice and cool and we hired a fridge which was a good size and took 1ltr bottles of water, various cans of juices and cartons of orange juice/milk.

The food in the hotel was good we always managed to find something to eat for all of us and what we had was very good. There was always plenty of choice to try and cater for all the different tastes.

We found the pool area to be good as well and we thought it was a good size, there was always plenty of beds and even if we didn't go down until 1 pm onwards we always got sunbeds and always managed to get a spot that was shady for the kids right beside a sunny spot for me! The little kids pool was great to start the kids off getting used to the pool but by the end of the holiday they were in the big pool and loved it. The pool was never overly busy either and very clean.

The staff at this hotel work very hard and everyone we met was very helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them. The dining room staff are always so busy but always had time for a smile and word for the kids, they are an absolute credit to you. The reception staff were very friendly and always managed to answer any queries. The bar staff were also very busy but always friendly and super efficient. We did not see the maids very often but they kept the room spotless and on one occasion my daughter was coming out of the room behind her dad and almost caught her hand in the door, she got a bit of a scare and started crying, the maintenance man saw this and rushed over to the maid to come see if she was ok. She was fine but the maid gave her and her brother a banana each and that cheered her right up. Both the maintenance man and maid were brilliant that day, very quick response. The lifeguard was very friendly and never stops, clearing glasses helping guests get sunbeds, helping people over with drinks etc. He also told us if we wanted to take the kids into the big pool he had a rubber ring he could lend us or floats, we had armbands for them but they preferred his rubber ring lol. The animation team seemed great as well but our kids were too young for that but they were good none the less. We loved our stay here and it was in a perfect location. Our first trip away within the twins was made hassle free thanks to all at the Helios. We will definitely be back next year.Thank You.

Room Tip: Pool side rooms got the sun from about 10.30am onwards all day.

We stayed at the Helios this last week and quite enjoyed our stay but we did have a few issues. Firstly I have to say that the reception staff are fantastic and cope very well with a busy hotel to run. The hotel is also perfectly located, very close to all the entertainment but far enough away to still be quiet at night. The pool area was great during our stay, plenty of sun loungers, a nice bar, great little pool, very relaxing and a nice atmosphere. The room was a good size, as was the balcony, and there was plenty of storage. The bathroom was a good size but could have been cleaned better. There was a faint lingering odour in the bathroom and the signs inside the lifts telling guests that there were serious problems with drainage caused by carelessly discarded items into the toilets would perhaps explain this. It wasn't terrible but we bought air freshener to spray in the bathroom whenever we came back in after a day or night out. We asked for an extra card-key to leave in the electrics slot in the room, enabling us to leave the air-con on all the time and this worked well if the curtains were drawn when we left the room. The food was very hit and miss. Although we don't expect fine dining in Spanish resort hotels we do expect to be able to get a good breakfast, even if its a pastry and a coffee, but nothing appealed to us. We gave it a go but only the once and we were already prepared to eat elsewhere if needed. Dinner was also great or at least OK on most nights and I have had worse. I can't comment on the entertainment or lunch time dining. I think the bad point about the hotel was that the walls are so thin. We could clearly hear conversations and television from adjoining rooms and also a child crying from a lower floor when our patio doors were shut. Helios is worth considering but I think we'd try another hotel in the same area on our next visit if it fits our budget. If you ever stay at Helios, check out the restaurants behind the hotel. Ray's Chippy is WELL worth a go for the cod and chips and the Penny Farthing next door to Ray's serves a great brekkie.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view as the other side overlooks a busy two way road.

We stayed here from the 28th of September for a week. I'm not going to repeat everything that has already been said about this hotel, as I'm sure you can gather by now that it is one of the best in Benidorm. We visit Benidorm 3 or 4 times a year but it is the first time we've stayed here, and not the last. The only little whinge we had was the pool and surrounding area, as we didn't feel as though this was big enough to cater for the size of the hotel, but don't let this put you off as everything else was spot on. A lovely touch was the hand sanitizer that was located at the restaurant entrance. When we arrived at the outside bar I was a little disappointed to see a Cruzcampo pump, as it's not the best of local lagers I'm sure you agree, but the inside bar sold Estrella Damm so we were made up. On the whole another great week in Benidorm, only made better by this hotel.

Room Tip: Most people rave about overlooking the pool, but we had a room on the opposite side overlooking the...
