Just got back from el faro my self my husband and small son. Hotel in a good location in easy access of beach restraints supermarkets bus stop to levanti no 2 bus at the bali bus no 3 to old town at beach. Hitel was very basic but great value for koney a little tired and dated but hey you can't pay 2* prices and expect 5* accomodation. Staff very friendly and helpful. Pool was great a little gem. Would definitely recommend this hotel to you just don't go expecting 5* n yiull be more than happy. I shall he going back next year had a great time xxx lisaxx aystinxxxx caiden xxx

Where to start with this hotel. First of all, I'm not an overly picky person when it comes to hotels. I wasn't expecting the Ritz for the price I paid and was expecting a basic, no frills room. I always think people who put negative reviews are too picky and stuck up. The first thing I did on arriving at this hotel was sweep the floor as it had hair on it. On looking around the main living area there was a beaten up old sofabed, a random radiator that stuck out into the centre of the room and a grotty kitchen. The fridge was splattered with rust marks all over the front door, the cupboards wouldn't close properly and the plug sockets were covered in years of grease and grime. The bathroom was clean in the sense it had been wiped over but the grout between the tiles was so mouldy and black it looked alive and there was a huge mould mark on the ceiling above the shower. The toilet smelt like a sewer. The bedroom aside from the 60s decor was actually OK. The beds were comfy and the sheets were soft and looked clean. Its just a shame I darn't take my flip flops off the whole time I was there.
The reception staff didn't take the slightest bit of notice of us and didn't even deem us worthy enough to return a smile.
On the flip side the location of the hotel is fab. It's a few seconds walk from the awesome beach and the view (from anything over the 5th floor) is amazing. The pool is not too bad and seemed clean, although the pool guy is obviously off on Sundays and it appeared noone else could be bothered to open it so was a bit of a mess that day.
This hotel seemed to be in a very Spanish area which made finding somewhere to eat pretty hard as all the menus were in Spanish and the waiters had trouble explaining it. On more then one occasion I ended up with a strange shell fish water pasta...thing..
A trip into town on the number 3 bus from the seafront resolves that quick enough though as did the finding of a British Bar (on the last day, typical). I think it was called Refresh and it was set back from the road a but further up and has the most amazing British food which was a welcome break from the fish thing.
All in all I liked the area but the hotel was really grubby. This is fine if your the sort of person that can overlook someone else's hair on your floor and layers of black stuff around the skirting but I couldn't. I will be saving a bit extra from now on and upgrading me thinks!

Room Tip: Go elsewhere. Seriously.

We spent three days here we wanted a cheap holiday and sunshine and we were not dispappointed. Our room on the 17th floor had amazing views over Benidorm and was clean tidy and basic. The towels and linen were brand new. The staff were friendly. So overall if you are looking for a short break with basic but clean accommodation I would recommend the El Faro and the location was spot on.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view!!!!

Can't fault the location, only one block from the gorgeous Poniente beach, but the El Faro is awfully dated and tired. Stayed for 2 nights in a one bedroom apartment on the first floor, apartment 1D.
We asked to change rooms to a higher floor because one of the deciding factors of our booking were the advertised sea views from every apartment, but the place was fully booked out. Therefore our sea view from the tiny side balcony was very restricted. This was a disappointment as I expected to sit out and admire the views.
I must stress that the apartment was clean, but had cracked tiles, a hole that looked like it had been punched in the bathroom door and a broken mirror. Without air conditioning or fans the rooms were sweltering hot, and we took our chance leaving the windows open all night, but without mosquito screens in place we were worried about insects coming in!
The pool was decent enough, and sun loungers available, but again there were cracked tiles and steps around the pool area. We spent most of our time at the beach.
I think that the El Faro has great potential, in an excellent location, if only money was spent on a refurbishment.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor for views and no street noise. If you are staying during summer, and...

Spent a week in this hotel. Great location only 3 minute walk to the beach. It was a quiet area of Benidorm but no.2 bus at the Bali takes you right into Levante area. Did not use pool area as preferred the beach but the sun did shine all day at it which is unusual in some hotels here due to the high rise. We were on 19th floor which had great views. Only down side to our stay was the lift breaking down on us twice. The lifts are quite small, 3 people is getting it tight. 1st time it stopped on the 18th floor and dropped us suddenly to the 17th, scary to say the least. 2nd time was going down and already having developed a new found fear of lifts this obviously was a nightmare experience. We were stuck for 15mins before any1 came near us. We were shouting for help and ringing the alarm which was automated and in spanish. Man came to our rescue but couldn't get the door open. After 10 mins of him and 3 of us trying to open the doors we managed to break one side of the door leaving a gap for us to climb out of. We weren't level with the floor so it was a climb up. No one apologised or asked if we were ok. All of us were quite traumatised by this experience and from the lack of enthusiasm from the staff I imagine this happens quite often as they did not show any interest. Any how I would return to this hotel if I was on the first 3 floors.

First time I have ever been to Benidorm - it was great. There were four of us and we stayed at the above hotel in a one bedroom apartment. We were on the thirteenth floor and the view from our balcony was unbelievable. You could see for miles and miles, as the hotel was only one hundred and fifty metres from the sea.

The hotel itself is clean, but room for improvements. As we were only there for three nights, basically all we wanted was a bed at night. We ate out all the time and used the room as a base. The swimming pool was very nice, but you have to be careful walking around the pool area, as there are a few tiles that need replacing.
All in all, we could not complain as it was cheap and you to can catch the number 3 bus at the bus stop, which was at the side of the beach. The bus only cost 1.50 euros each and dropped you off in the new part of Benidorm.

I was told to go and see Sticky Vicky. Well, that was an experience to say the least. The boys, 17 and 18 years old could not believe their eyes - it was a good laugh. We saw a tribute night to Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga. Michael Jackson's voice was excellent. Lady Gaga was good, but in my opinion the way she was talking about one holiday maker in particular, as this woman had sat on the bouncers chair, was so wrong. The group of women ended up leaving. Lady Gaga talked about how she wanted to be rich and famous one day - I stand more chance of winning the lottery, as you have to show respect to your audience.

Hoping to go back to Benidorm soon and experience it all again.
