We booked this holiday last minute, as we understood they had regular entertainment, live shows and karaoke, as it states on most cheap holiday websites. Unfortunately none of this is true. There
isnt any entertainment at all. The apts were in quite bad repair, our apt had a light hanging out of the bathroom ceiling, the only mirror in the apts which was in the bathroom was falling off the wall and cracked. The fridge was rusty. There was no cleaning done in our apt such as sweeping, washing floors, so the bathroom would have gone without a cleean for a whole week if we hadnt done it. The bath had been painted with emulsion paint and would come off as you bathed and showered, which worked when it felt like it. I would not of gone to these apts if I knew this.

Never Ever Ever again!!!! just back from benidorm weather was in the 80s we were told by our tour operator there was air conditioning which there wasnt so lasted one night where the 5 of us inc our baby slept out on the bloody balcony we also requested a lower floor beforehand you think they would have used the common sense esp with us having 3 kids but nope floor 13!!! in all fairness it was clean but as we said we only stayed 1 night, it was in the middle of no where and i mean no where we walked for over 1 hr and eventually flagged a taxi down and we were still 10 mins in a taxi to get the main bit... so cut a long storey short we moved to another hotel at a cost of 900 pounds, and are now in the process of claiming money back from our tour operator for false advertising as we would never have booked a hotel in mid aug without air con.

Room Tip: dont stay here

Apartments are basic but clean and have all you need, what a fantastic place to be! I would just stay there forever if i could! Yes it is away from the hustle and bustle of new town but only a short bus ride away, no big deal! Fantastic pool and the staff well what can I say Maggie is our wee darling, Pepe is our big darling and Christian is our young darling!! lol The views are fantastic from the higher floors and you go to sleep at night listening to the sea! Simply paradise! No official entertainment as stated on the facilities list here but when Maggie n Pepe are there you're always entertained!! lol
THERE IS A GREAT WEE BRITISH BAR REFRESH JUST ALONG FROM EL FARO just at the bottom of the steep hill where CHARLES, RACHAEL and LUKE will give you such a warm welcome! Lovely food, fab cold lager and TV!! MISS U LOTS GUYS XXX

Room Tip: Higher floors are best to get a fab view.

The hotel is in a great location, just a short walk to the fantastic beach and within walking distance of a supermarket. We booked the appartment through Teletext, where it was advertised as having air conditioning and sea views. We were put on the first floor and there was no sea view and no air conditioning! I would not have booked this accommodation if i had known that there was no air conditioning.
Directly outside our balcony was the roof of the bar of the hotel and unfortunately some of the other people in the hotel kept throwing their cigaretts from their balcony which landed on the roof of the bar and this meant that we regularly had the smell of the still lit, smokey cigarettes in our appartment - unpleasant as we do not smoke. We asked to change rooms but were told the hotel was full.
The self catering appartment was in need of some TLC. The draws in the kitchen were skewif and did not open/close properly, there was no base or shelf in one of the wall units and the handle was missing from one of the wall units making it difficult to use. There was no kettle so we had to boil water in a saucepan to make tea/coffee. There were 4 adults staying in the appartment and there were only 4 cups (2 of which were very small) and 4 plates, breakfast bowls etc. There was no sharp kitchen knife for peeling fruit/veg etc and no bread board. Very minimalist! We improvised but it was not ideal. The grill did not work on the oven, however we were pleased that when we reported this to reception, it was fixed immediately, and also our TV did not work and they also replaced the tv straight away.
The housekeeping was a bit hit or miss . Mid weeks some of the bed sheets were changed but not all of them, and our towels were not changed, but two clean towels were placed in the bathroom?
They say that you only get what you pay for, but we paid over £300 per head for just one week and from past experience I would have expected better for that amount of money.

Room Tip: send a request by email directly to the hotel for a room on a higher floor. bring tea towel, cork sc...

Hi this is Mary. I am just back after a week at El Faro hotel in Benadorm. I went with my daughter grandson and daughter in law. We were on the 13th floor which at first was a bit concerned about because of my 5yr old grandson. Infact it turned out to be ok. The room was basic but clean. The rooms could do with a bit of an uplift. The staff were all lovely. Maggie was on alot of the nights going between the bar and reception. I had read reviews about her which gave you the wrong impression about her but when you made an effort to talk to her she was lovely. Pepie was very nice. He worked alot of the nights to. We met alot of very nice people at the hotel. There were alot of footballers, stags and hens stayed. Everyone was very friendly no matter which country you were from. The hotel was only about 5 minutes away from the beach which was great. I do have a couple of negitive things I want to say. We only got our towels changed once in the week along with the sheets. They were only changed the once. Theres no entertainment in the hotel at night which was a disapointment. Now a word of warning. When the pool has been closed for the night do not jump into it otherwise one particular staff will phone the policia and they do come. Now in saying all that I must admit WE had a great week and I would like to go back at some stage.

Room Tip: The higher you go up the quietier it becomes.

I went to Benidorm with a party of 8 girls for our friends 40th birthday weekend, upon arrival we was put into our rooms straight away with no problem the receptionist was really helpful she advised us where the square was and supermarkets she also called out taxis everynight for us (10 euros to the square) when we got to our rooms they were very basic but clean, they done the job as we only got ready in them and slept in them. Overall we had a great weekend the beach which is 2 minutes down the road was absolutely lovely and im fussy about beaches lol, the nightlife in the square was very busy the workers that try and get you into the bars can get on your nerves by the end of it but hey they are just doing their job!! There is a restaurant called the Grill House give it a try the food was lush. My friend wanted to go to Benidorm for her weekend and i can honestly say that im pleased that she made that decision as it was great fun.

Room Tip: The high the floor the better the view of the fantastic beach and sea.

Me my partner & my 3year old have just came home from staying here. On arival we gave our name & was told we wer on the 21st floor regaurds to me requesting a low floor because i had such a young child once i pointed this out he moved us to the 4th floor. Our room was lovely the balcony was nice & spacus with a lovely view. Once we were sorted we thought we would grab a bite to eat so we set out in search of a nice place but it was all spanish menu's & staff couldnt understand us. We found a lovely english bar if u follow the sea front called 7 palms the food was lovely & the owners were even better . The beach it litteraly at your door step . Our second day we went down to the pool & there was nobody anywere untill our worst nightmare a stag do came down they were a bunch of full grown men walking round in a thong with evrything falling out my daughter being 3started asking questions then they were throwning the rubbish & drinks & the language was horrendus in the pool the final straw for us was when they kicked a footbal at 30mph & it was cm from hitting my daughter in the face in the baby pool 10minutes later they done it again so i complaned & they stopped. The hotel was full of stags & hens thoughout the weekend & the familys that had bren there the previous weekend were wise to it so found themself elsewere to go. The hotel is in a very quiet part of benidorm the locals dont even class it as benidorm it so far out the only good thing about it is if your on a transfer you are 1st off. There is no entertainment at night its 10euro's in a taxi to the busy part but it all adds up if u go every night for a week there & back. Our towels & beds were changed once during our stay i swept & mopped our room every morning cause the floors turn your feet black but u get that in most places. The hotel is lovely the staff our friendly thr only thing is the location & the quests at weekends but its a low cost holiday you get what you pay for & if you want nightlife english bars u need to go further in. I hope this helps people it wasnt a bad holiday we enjoyed ourselfs but i wouldnt go back to the hotel based on location only
