“POOR SUBSTITUTE.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

We had booked to stay at the Villa de Benidorm from 29th December to January 5th,and 3 weeks before going were told hotel had closed for renovations and we had been allocated the Dynastic. The outside looks bright and modern, but on closer examination the hotel is not so clean or modern.
On arrival we were told we had been upgraded to a superior room. When we got to room superior it was not.Bathroom window broken and sellotaped together.Towel rail in bathroom brown with rust, and it generally was dingy looking.Back to reception to say it was unacceptable and on line superior rooms did not look like that we were told there are 2 levels of superior rooms,so if you pay for upgrade check what your buying into.
Food was fairly good, and finding an empty table was easy. You could have a bottle of wine with meal on all inclusive,it was a go to bar service so you didnt have to wait for next drink.Food could be cold at times but there was a microwave.
Entertainment in house was poor and facilities to sit and have a drink like a very small student union bar.Preference over New Year was certainly given to Spanish guests. The hotel was near night life, but area did seem to attract beggars and unsavoury looking individuals.
Would I go back to this hotel-NEVER for what we paid it was a very expensive YMCA accomadation

Room Tip: On line superior rooms look very good ,large with seperate shower to bath, but there are two levels o...

Well what a lovely surprise to find this hotel, friendly staff, Mirriam the entertainer, the food and the rooms all wonderful. Would recommend this hotel to all!!! what`s more you can get BBC 1 and ITV1 on the television, ideal for easy access to night life in the new town and Benidorm Palace, We stay over Christmas in a party of Twelve and was well looked after by all the staff.

Room Tip: ask for the sunnyside and high up you might get a sea view!!!

Catering could not be faulted, rooms clean but showing signs of wear, pity the front of house referbishment last year was not extended to the rooms. Entertainment limited and not very good, influx of locals at weekend took shine off evening, management need to look at free beverages to those not all inclusive

The Dynastic. A good choice for Christmas. That's when me and my little slug pellet went. Well for starters you get what you pay for and a bit more. Reception brilliant. Not just because they upgraded us f.o.c. when we arrived but because they were all so friendly and informative, nothing to much trouble. ie. her who must be obayed had a bad back and the hard mattress did not help, so I asked if it was possible for a softer mattress, we got one, no fuss, straight away. Service eh? Room, large and airy, full size bath with seperate shower over looking the pool, the room not the shower. Meals. If you can't find something to eat at meal times then all I can is you must be very sad fussy eaters. I was eating king prawns, mussels, cavier, fresh veg, steak and all were great, oh yes, nearly forgot, chips. Somebody complained about Christmas lunch. It was five courses bought to your table with bottles of wine. Little goodies on the table, hats, streamers etc. what more do you want? You're at the Dynastic in Benidorm, not The Ritz in London. Stop moaning and go with the flow, I certainly did as well as the majority of the others. There was a hilarious interlude after dinner when two of the guests did an impromptu bull fight dance in the bar, that's what I mean, go with the flow and enjoy yourselves. The jacuzi and swimming pool. Free to all inclusive. Its great after a hard days walking and shopping with her in doors. Oh yes. If a certain reviewer had read the reviews on the Dynastic, he/she would have seen you can buy a pool hat next door of the hotel for one euro and you don't have wear flip flops, but take some any way. Last but not least the hotel entertainment. Yes, it is sort of rubbish but some people liked it and the staff try very hard, but again, this is Benidorm. This is what we did. Drink your all inclusive, which is OK. Beer is good as well as the spirits and cocktails until ten o clock ish, turn right outside of hotel, second right, keep walking for five minutes and your in the heart of some of the best entertainment there is in Benidorm. Try Morgans, where Benidorm was filmed , acts on every night of the week for the price of a pint, Also the comedy club where Crissy Rock was, hilarious and free entry also like all the venues there. The epilogue, this was our first time in Benidorm and we were pleasantly surprised how sunny and warm it was at that time of year. There's a lot going on and plenty to see. Go further afield to Alacante, its lovely and a bit more up market, bus trip, eight euros, or Altea, with its old town, very peaceful. My philosophy in life is treat people how you would like to be treated and you won't go far wrong. Give the Dynastic and Benidorm a try , you won't be dissapointed. Oh by the way, my littlte slug pellet and I are in our sixtys going on twenty one and we loved it. Oh forgot to mention, I was one half of the impromptu bull fight dance, he he. Love to all the people we met. Might see you again. Adios amigos..

Room Tip: A higher floor overlooking the pool

Left the Dynastic on 25th December after a really enjoyable holiday,my second time there. The room was very clean, towels changed daily and sheets every two days. The entertainment isn't up to much but we just made friends with other guests and really enjoyed it.Bear in mind the price of the holiday, therefore you can't expect top notch entertainment.I found the food lovely, always a good choice to suit all tastes. Will definitely return to the Dynastic.

Room Tip: Higher floors have bigger rooms

First of all the good points:-
Room - We were upgraded to a superior room overlooking the outdoor pool - we got the sun in the afternoon- Room very good and spacious - separate large twin beds - spotlessly clean - clean towels everyday
Food - Quite good on the whole however we were disappointed with Christmas Lunch which was the was the worst meal we had.
Drinks - Good measures didn't have to wait long and quite a good choice.
Staff - everyone in the restaurant/bar/reception was very helpful and smiley.
Spa and indoor pool - nice pool if a little colder than expected and powerful jacuzzi pool.
The not so good:
Bar downstairs not big enough to cope with the amount of people in the hotel - could be very noisy when evening entertainment on - if you had to use the seats directly outside the bar you had to endure table football clicking all the time.
Upstairs - so called piano bar - this should be called a sports bar - football etc on every evening piano never played, and you had to sit on the most uncomfortable wooden seats.
In other words nowhere to have a quiet drink in comfort in the evenings. Couldn't wait to get out.
Outdoor pool - quite frankly if I was staying here in the summer and had to use the pool with a family I would be most disappointed. Small and uninviting.
Spa/ jacuzzi- you have to book this in advance and usually had to wait 2 days for a 4pm booking (the latest time) as it shuts at 5pm. When you eventually get in it is full of people who had not booked and had just gone for a swim - the attendant does nothing and also ignores the spanish kids who are in the spa with their parents - it is supposed to be over 16 only.
Would I stay again - no - the outdoor pool is too small and the bar areas are not nice. so you do not wish to stay in and fully enjoy your all inclusive package which you have paid for

Room Tip: We had room 704 (superior room) and were very happy

Stayed here for one night with my girlfriend. Hotel was very warn and run down. Rooms were very large and clean but again rundown. Food was of okay basic standard.
Gym was very large and very well equipped for a hotel gym.
