Having spent 10 days in the castilla which is my second time this year I can only speak very highly of the hotel especially staff at reception who couldn't do enough for you and PILAR and girls in the dining hall I shall be returning again next year.

On arrival at the hotel I was disappointed it was positioned right next to a building site which has in fairness been closed down for a few years due to the economic position within Spain. I received a warm welcome but was not offered any information on the room safe or free Wi-Fi so I had to return to reception.
The hotel itself is spotless and the pool area is good and has plenty beds. It gets good sun after 10am in most areas.
The food and the restaurant staff let the hotel down. I was HB and the dinners are not good. The starters and sweet never change. For mains the chef obviously likes mushrooms as they where in virtually everything. The selection was poor quality meats & turkey.. No chicken. No options for fussy eaters. The staff are slow to replace food on the buffet and when they do they would lift a tray with some food on it disappear for 5 minutes before returning rather than bringing the full tray out to replace the tray being used. The breakfasts where standard, improved only by the provision of the British sausage and black pudding. I got the impression a lot of the food in the hotel was pre prepared and the chef didn't have much input.
The poolside bar did not offer a waiter service and the food for sale was very basic. No Burgers No Chips.
I'm maybe being a bit hard on the hotel but it is meant to be 4 Star. With a bit of work I'm sure it could offer this star rating to its guests.
It is well located in a fairly quiet area not to far away from some good bars, strip and beech.

Room Tip: Pool view room gets the sun during the day.

Dear Guest,

We would like to thank you for your comments as knowing you opinions and needs is the best way to improve our Service.

We do agree that the building opposite is unsightly but this is beyond our control. Sorry for the inconveniences.

We apologize if you weren’t offered any information, when guests arrive our priority is to not have them waiting around in reception to long after the long journey, so we try to not have a queue of arrivals all waiting for room keys. Most guests prefer to go to the rooms first and then ask about wi-fi, etc.
At Servigroup hotels, we understand that hotel food plays a very significant part in our guests´ holiday enjoyment, therefore time and effort has been spent by our head chef creating international menus to suit all palates for both lunch and dinner. Although we aim to cater to everyone’s requirements, we appreciate that food enjoyment is very much based on the individual’s preference.

If you had informed the restaurant staff, they would have prepared something else for you as the staff is always available for our guests´ needs.

Regarding the bar service, we have taken note of your comments to improve that in the future.

We are sorry to see that all the efforts that we did to make your stay comfortable did not meet with your expectations.

Kind Regards,
Customer Service

Having just returned from Benidorm I thought I should give a review for the Castilla hotel which I booked through Jet2.com. It was an adults hotel so we didn't have any children to worry about. The rooms were very nice and always kept clean with fresh towels every day. Every room has all the terrestrial channels and a few more besides. It is situated in a quiet part of benidorm within walking distance of all the entertainment but very quite. I am a fussy eater but I found the food to be adequate and filling. There was a good variation to choose from. This was our first time to Benidorm and I wouldnt have any hesitation in going back or recommending it to my friends.

Room Tip: My tip for anyone thinking of booking this hotel try to get one over looking the pool as the sun com...

This is the 4th time this year my wife and I have been to this hotel and once again there is nothing to fault. The hotel is spotless, the management / reception / dining room / bar / cleaning staff are all excellent at their duties. The food is very good and there is always plenty choice whether it be breakfast, lunch or evening meal. There is also a couple of cheap bars a short walk from the hotel and are worthy of a visit (or two).

Room Tip: Pool view.

Returned today from a 5 night break at the Castilla. It was our first visit to Benidorm. We travelled with Jet 2 and the transfer took 1 3/4hrs to the hotel!!! Not a good start. However we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Castilla. Jackie (receptionist) had the email we had sent requesting a room on a higher floor which got the evening sunshine. She apologised that as the hotel was full they were only able to put us on the 4th floor. This was fine and the room got the evening sun, which was great.
Hotel was very clean and tidy. Staff were helpful and friendly, apart from some of the dining room staff who couldn't crack a smile!
We stayed half board. Breakfast was fine, however although the evening meal was nice, choice was a bit limited and i'm glad we were only there for 5 nights as i think it may have got a bit monotonous.
View from hotel is of an unfinished building and the hotel is a 10 minute walk from the sea which could be a problem for older visitors, but they could always hire a mobility scooter as everyone else seems to do!!!
Would recommend this hotel to older visitors as it maybe a bit quiet for younger people. We would be happy to stay there again

Room Tip: Email ahead. Rooms with the evening sun overlook the pool but also the unfinished building.

My wife and I returned last week after 11 days in the Castilla.
I have stayed there before and thought it was one of the better holiday hotels I had stayed in.
It is still a very nice hotel albeit with a view of a half built building, though that's not their fault.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the hotel rooms are kept very clean.
We went half board but stopped going to the restaurant after about a week. The desserts were practically the same every day, the salad and cold meat was more or less identical every day.
The hot food was also repetitive and unimaginative, eg rice every day, flat omelettes.
There was also nothing to drink at lunch or dinner unless you bought something, which I find ridiculous in a 4 star hotel.
However, my biggest problem was the horrendous noise created by the cleaners every morning. From about 9 until lunch time the cleaners dragged beds across the tiled floors creating a noise like a trumpeting elephant.
I was also less than impressed with the beds. I couldn't get a double bed and the single beds were too firm.
Its a very good location which is fortunate as the evening entertainment is not entertaining (unless you like waltzing around the dance floor on your own).
Its a very good hotel but certainly not 4 star.

Dear guest,

We would like to thank you for your comments as knowing your opinion is the best tool to improve our service.
The half built building in front of the hotel does not belong to Servigroup, therefore, it is beyond our control.
We do offer our guests an International buffet, with a varied selection of food, desserts and fruit to choose from. Although we aim to cater to everyone’s requirements, we appreciate that food enjoyment is very much based on the individual’s preference.
If you had informed the restaurant staff, they would have prepared something else for you as the staff is always available for our guests´ needs.
We are sorry to hear you were disturbed by the cleaners. They do start early as we always have arrivals and the rooms have to be ready. In any case, we have passed your comment to the housekeeper in order to take measures.
We do have a few double beds available in the hotel, and if requested we do our best to fulfil the request, as double beds are limited this is not always possible.
We intend to provide a varied entertainment programme to suit all our clientele. We apologize if we didn´t manage to entertain you.
We are sorry to see that all the efforts that we did to make your stay comfortable did not meet with your expectations.

Kind regards,
Customer Service.

Just returned from our stay at Castilla. Great location, lovely and clean. Loads of sun beds, quiet round the pool area even in such a central location. breakfast ok. Helpful friendly staff (especially Jackie on reception) would stay here again
