“Nice hotel except for ......”
Reviewed March 23, 2012

Just come back from a week at the Riviera and all in all it is a very nice hotel and the staff are very good and helpful, except one little Bulgarian waiter called Teo,he really needs to have a think about his career choice, with an attitude like his the hotel will very quickly lose its No.1 status.
The food was fine but not a lot of choice but the staff in the restaurant are excellent. The only down side of the hotel is if you want a suntan you will have to keep on the move to be in the sun and in our room we had a terrible smell from the drains in the bathroom but managed to cure this by leaving the plug in the bath with a little water

This is by far the best hotel i have ever stayed in.From the minute you see the outside of the hotel you cannot help but be impressed and you will not be disapointed when you step inside.
Checking in we were greeted by the friendliest receptionist, happy and smiling which is always a good start.things just got better and better when we were shown our room, spottless ,modern and very tastefull.plenty of wardrobe space and the best walk in shower i have ever seen.Rooms and towels were cleaned everyday to a high standard, room also has a fridege which is a great bonus,
Meal times were just as impressive, never any trouble to get a seat,no queuing for food and always piping hot and tasty, the restaurant staff are also extremely friendly.
The prices in the bar are ver reasonable too,2.80 for 2 estrellas, and 1.30 for a coffee, also try the freshly squeezed orange juice delicious at 1.20.
Sitting outside the front of the hotel is a lovely way to pass the time as they have a few sofa seats which are very comfy if you are lucky enough to get one,and you can sit and watch people admiring the hotel as they walk past.
I cant really comment on the pool as we didnt use it,but it never looked busy but that is propably down to the time of year, infact none of the hotel ever seemed too busy,it was very relaxed.
All in all i cant recomend this hotel enough, give it a go,you will love it!.

Really nice modern hotel
Food in resturant nice not much choice on arrival night we missed evening meal because we arrived late and we were given a packed lunch to take to the room however my husband is a muslim and all the food products contained pork meat he was unable to eat any of it and had to go hungry
Pool area very small no sun there till late afternoonDrink prices cheap in the hotel staff friendly and helpful.
Benidorm was nice in the day and turned very unsafe in the evening
One night i was followed by an asian man who was eyeing up my handbag i felt very scared
Thank god my husband was there.
nightlife was full of chav people always fights breaking out

Just had 2 very good weeks at this hotel, great to have a proper wet room for the disabled, very good rooms and bathroom, staff excellent, restaurant well set out Antonio and staff are very good nothing too much trouble, Carmen looked after us, food did get repetitive and some days could have been hotter but in all my wife a fussy eater enjoyed it, would recommend this hotel, no kids or large groups of stag or hen parties, if you are on ground floor pool side and go out onto balcony you find sun lounges only 2 feet away from you, there is no privacy and if you get loud people not quiet and relaxing, in the morning you can hear people in corridor and the laminate floors do nothing to reduce noise from above sounded like a horse above us from 6.30, must point out we sneak in about 3.30 and get up about 10.00 ish, never heard any street noise may be because there was no one about could be different in warmer nights when Uncle Peds is open longer and people sit out until the late hours

Top quality clean adults only hotel.
The food is cooked really well, pipeing hot and of excellent quality. If you enjoy a good hearty breakfast then you will not be dissapointed. All meals are excellant.
All the restauraunt staff are really helpful and friendly.
The bedrooms are a little on the small side but still very good all with compfy memoryfoam mattresses. All rooms have a modern flat screen TV with 4 English channels. We had a disabled room and it had a fantastic power shower and wet room.
The maid service is really good and fresh towles every day but the towels are rather on the small side.
Drinks are a fair price at present you can get a coffee and brandy for 1.60 € and a large larger type beer for 1.80 €. The only problem with the front of house bar area is that it is used by the general public and does become very crowded and at times it is hard to get a seat or service. This is the begining of March so I expect peak season will be really busy.
The staff at this hotel are all excellent apart from one young barman. This barman will soon become apparent to any guests because at busy times he totally ignoors any guests apart from Spanish and while we were there upset some of the guests with his sacastic comments. Reception are really helpfull and have a lot of local information far better than the tourist information just across the road.
The pool area is not very big and quite claustrophobic, at this time of year does not get any sun untill mid afternoon. If you want to sunbathe you are far better using one of the other hotels pool areas nearby. The Ambassadore hotel 1 and 2 are of the same group on the opposite side of the road and you are allowed to use their pool if you wish.
The one thing that at present would put us off returning to this hotel is the lack of security and high crime rate in the area. There were while we were staying at this hotel many muggings in the adjacent streets. The problem seems to be with some eastern European gangs that have recently moved in nearby. The police are trying to combat this and we did see arrests but we did not feel very safe walking the area. There is nothing to stop anyone walking into the hotel and there was a theft on floor 5 while we were there.
To sum up great little hotel and in the main good staff. If the crime is sorted we would return.

Room Tip: Walk in showers only on the lower floors
