I am just writing this review as we returned from here on the 13th July.
For anyone who hasn't been to Benidorm before imagine Blackpool with Heat.
The Ambassador Playa is a nice hotel, from what I am told one of the better ones in Benidorm.
The rooms are kept clean and are big enough for 3 people.
We were allocated the 5th floor (even though I emailed them asking for a low floor, so don't waste your time emailing).
The restaurant is quite small for the size of the hotel and everywhere you turned you felt like you was going to bump into somebody, however the food was very nice although slightly bland and a touch repetitive though ok for a week was also very British from Steak Pies to Onion Rings, to Roast Beef & Yorkshire Puds.
The entertainment at night was also 1st class 3 shows every night starting from around 8-30 - 12pm, we saw Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Bee Gees & the Carpenters.
My biggest gripe is that all the people in the hotel were English, yet at 8.30 am they all turned into Stereotypical Germans running round the pool to get a sunbed, to be honest they were pathetic queuing from 8.15 all the way around reception, even though signs are clearly in place that sunbeds are NOT to be reserved.
All in all a good hotel, good food and very good entertainment.
For those who are going Enjoy and don't forget to Queue at 8.15 or you won't get a bed.

Room Tip: Excellent Location, Very Good English Food. Great Entertainment.

Stayed in the playa 1, from the 2nd too 9th of july, rooms were cleaned daily clean towels daily, reception staff were friendly also, we was full board and the food was great as my sister is a real fussy eater, and she always found something too eat, were i found the food was excellent, an the resturant manger is so friendly and helpfull always makes you smile and made you welcome, The location off the hotel is excellent, And the Playa 1 is run by Thomas an the Reps Sid an Dan are excellent you will find them both on the Thomas desk in reception most off the day, The only problem we had is that the pool area is so small for both hotels an there is no walk way, If you go the bar you would have to step over people sunbathing to get back to were your lounger was an that if you get a lounger.....also be sure to use the spa its lovely in there.

Just returned from a fantastic stay at the Ambassador Playa 1. Please ignore all negative reviews if you have booked or thinking of booking this hotel. The staff made you feel welcome from the minute you arrive to when you leave . We had a pool view on the 6th and top floor which also had a great view of the surrounding area and partial view of the sea . Perfect location for all main bars and few mins walk to the beach. The room was very comfortable and had recently been refurbished to a good standard . Bathroom had bath and shower. TV had all English channels . Beds comfortable . Plenty of wardrobe space. Safe cheap to hire. No fridge but cold aircon. Large dressing table for us ladies and socket close for those all important straighteners. Hair dryer in the bathroom. Food was delicious, plenty of choice , piping hot and always kept topped up. The staff were quick to find you a table at busy times and never left you wandering around looking like they do in other hotels for a vacant table , they were also very quick to clear away used plates etc and were always happy to help and were friendly. The pool area yes was a bit cramped but this is the same all over Benidorm however if others had bothered to ask the staff member looking after this area , he was only to happy to get you a sunbed at anytime from a stock pile they keep near the playa 2 building. If you like to have more room go to the beach buy your own parasol for 6 euros and a beach mat , cheaper than 8 euros a day to hire a bed and a parasol. Entertainment was good each evening and can recommend the hotel bar . If you are on a late return flight you can get a shower but be aware it is only a small wet room and not a large courtesy room . I've stayed at the Helios , the levante club , riador and this is by far the best hotel and will be returning .

We did not stay at the hotel but the part of the complex that we used was the Explorers Club at the back of the hotel. Good drinks good atmosphere good staff good music in the evening and all in all a pleasant place to visit

Stayed at the Playa 1 last weekend to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday. Chosen by someone else in our party of 37, and not the type of hotel I normally frequent. I was pleasantly surprised at the standard of accommodation. As previous reviewers have stated all very clean, food was good and staff seemed very professional, with the only downside being the small pool area. But as with many in Spain, the hotel is too big for the size of the plot of land it was built on, but with the consolation of the clean well kept beach being only a 5-10 walk away.

I have just returned from Benidorm staying in the Ambassador hotel. Very clean, maids in every day changing bedding and towels. Staff very friendly especially restaurant staff. Food was ok, always a choice and was hot. Chicken nuggets and sausages always on hand for the children from the very nice man in the restaurant. Pool was clean and always able to get a sunbed as the towels where removed from the beds people had reserved but did not use. Staff in beach bar very friendly too always happy to help. Entertainment good although was not very children orientated. drinks in hotel reasonably priced. great location of hotel not far from beach and in heart of the good pubs/clubs. western bar a must for great entertainment and atmosphere. had a great time in Benidorm and would go back to this hotel.
